NEW CENTRAL – Ayten Dêrsim, a member of the Coordinating Party of Kurdistan Women’s Freedom Party (PAJK), emphasized the importance of the slogan “FREEDOM OF WOMEN” in her old interviews and said; “Our experiences of struggle become universal. Look, the slogan ‘Women, life, freedom’ has now become a perspective for all women. We still have shortcomings in order to spread this perspective and we know that we must strengthen the women’s struggle in the world both in Kurdistan and in the Middle East. We will make this struggle bigger and change the system.”
Ayten Dêrsim pointed out that against Capitalist Modernity, it is very important and necessary for women to become a common organizational force on the basis of ideology, thought and self-defense.
Ayten Dêrsim announced that in women’s struggle against fascism, they have a multifaceted tradition of struggle and continued, “For women to be able to organize themselves with their own identity in society and to achieve their awareness and protect their existence, with the philosophy of the Leader We have been struggling for 40 years. The Rojava Revolution is the result of this. The resistance to the protection of existence and self-organization of the people of Shengal is a part of this. In Europe, our people support the struggle for freedom every day. We have a strong reality of struggle in four parts of Kurdistan. The solution is obvious; freedom for the people, freedom for the people. The solution is to gather around the democratic nation, be it from the national point of view or from the people’s point of view. This is the construction of the system. What does this mean? It means that the people of this geography can express themselves within the democratic nation system, everyone can protect their organization and their free existence with their identity. Today in Rojava there is a model that includes all identities. It defines itself as Self-Government and among them are women and people’s identities.
Ayten Dêrsim explained that slavery has been imposed on women for a thousand years and said, “At this time, this chain of slavery is being broken. Women are standing up in every geography. They say to the system, ‘You can’t make a decision about me, I will make the decision for myself’. The solution is obvious; with its identity, with its political and moral structure, it is to share the organized struggle. The name of this is the democratic federal system. For women, it is women’s confederalism.
As we win, the system increases its attacks. We understand this from the current policies of fascism against women, but we know how to nullify these attacks. Being organized, gathering together, self-defense and strengthening awareness is a must for women. Of course, there is a need for a strong struggle against the multifaceted attacks of the system. This is not an easy struggle by itself. Against the reality of the system that divides people, freedom is not an easy thing. The formula for this is clear and Leader Apo has indicated the methods, programs and paradigms for women and people. So we have an advantage.
Our experiences of struggle become universal. Look, the slogan ‘Women, life, freedom’ has now become a perspective for all women. We still have shortcomings in order to spread this perspective and we know that we must strengthen the women’s struggle in the world both in Kurdistan and in the Middle East. We will make this struggle bigger, change the system. This is the most basic task that is like an immutable law of history before us. All women should act with this understanding and strengthen the methods of struggle accordingly.”
