KOBANÊ – 3rd Martyr Bawer Agir Culture Festival occurred during two days in Kobane. Martyr Bawer Agir Culture Festival started this year in Kobanê with the motto “Bi Ruhê sacrificeyîtiya guerrilla belle shoreşgerî mezin bikin azadiya rêber Apo misoger bikin” (Let’s grow the revolutionary culture with the guerrilla’s self-sacrificing spirit and ensure Leader Apo’s freedom).
Martyr Bawer Agir Youth Festival started today in Kobanê. In the festival with thousands of participation, those who became heroes in the youth resistance were commemorated. The festival started with a minute’s silence in memory of the martyrs of Kurdistan and all martyrs of the revolution, and the slogans “Martyr Namirin” and “Biji Serok Apo”. Again, heroic martyrs Sara Tolhildan and Ruken Zelal were commemorated.
Jinda Yusuf, a member of Bakur and Rojhilatê Syrian Youth and Sports Board, made a speech and said;
“They developed a conspiracy against Leader Apo by extending their betrayal hand to us. They renewed this conspiracy and invaded our lands to strike a blow to the democratic nation project.
Jinda Yusuf stated that in the century we live in, there were attacks against the Kurdish people the most and that the Kurdish people rebelled against this with the ideas and philosophy of Leader Apo.
At the festival, groups from Raqqa and Manbij exhibited their products. Martyr Bawer Agir (Ahmet Akyüz) was martyred while fighting against the invading Turkish state in Hiwêce Village in Girê Spî on October 13, 2019.
“We have a responsibility to fulfill the wishes of our martyrs”
Commenting on the program of the festival, Mihemed stated that there will be sports events on the second day and said;
“As Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger and Yekîtiya Jinên Ciwan, the 3rd Martyr Bawer Agir Festival was held. With this, our aim is to strengthen our organization even more while commemorating each martyred friend. We can convey ourselves to all young people through the festival. By organizing the youth in the region, we can renew the wishes and legacy of the martyrs, and on this basis we reiterate our promise to them. We want to strengthen our organization in their footsteps, just as they have been recognizing and organizing young people 24 hours a day.
As it is known, the festival will continue for 2 days. The first day will be about culture and the second day will be sports. Martyr Zilan group affiliated to Dirbesiyê took its place today. The Raqa group, Mine Elah, Melek Eltım, Mûweyed Şiwêş, will again take the place of Koma Botan. It will also end with sports tomorrow. There will be many events in this context. We present this festival to Leader Apo and all the martyrs of the revolution. “
Ehmed Eluş, who was in the Preparatory Committee, stated that their aim with the festival was to organize every unorganized youth and to fulfill the wishes of the martyrs.
“My name is Ehmed Elush. I am a member of Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger. We celebrate this festival for the youth in four parts of Kurdistan. Martyr Bawer had a request. He wanted to organize every unorganized youth. We must uphold the word of Martyr Bawer and the Leader. We started young, we will succeed young. We will do whatever we have to do. We celebrate this festival to Martyr Bawer, his family, four parts of Kurdistan youth and Leader Apo.
The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla is resisting every day against the brutal Turkish state and betrayers. On this basis we celebrate the martyrs. and we say; “Biji Serok Apo, Bijî Ciwanên Şoreşger.”
SECOND DAY
Today, on the second day of the 3rd Martyr Bawer Fire Festival, once again thousands of young men and women and the people of Kobanê joined the festival with great morale and enthusiasm. The second day started with youth games and competitions such as bicycling, running, chess and volleyball. Those who participated were awarded and those who won the match were announced to the public.
After the games, once again the members of the cultural center made the people dance with songs. The Bakixedo group and the Bakixedo theater group acted on the role of the youth against the special war of the enemy. At the end of the festival, the movie about the guerrillas and the war in the mountains with the heroic resistance of the guerrillas was presented to the people present and received with great morale.
