BEHDINAN – Emphasizing the position of YJA Star troops in the war against invasion attacks and betrayal, Zozan Çewlig said, “YJA Star is a leading force in the war. Last year, YJA Star made 116 actions. This year, there is no day that YJA Star does not take action. This war has left 8 months behind, there are a total of 273 YJA Star actions in these 8 months,” and expressed his gratitude to the heroic martyrs for the creation of all these.
YJA Star Central Headquarters Commander Zozan Çewlig, who participated in the Special Program broadcast on Stêrk TV, talked about the isolation against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the latest situation of the ongoing war in the Medya Defense Zones, the resistance of the YJA-Star guerrillas and the incident in Xelîfan. She answered the questions of journalist Arjin Ferat regarding the issue.
Zozan Çewlig’s comments are as follows:
A special war has been waged against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı for 23 years. When we look at the policy and war fascism waged against Leader Apo in the İmralı system, we are not surprised. Why? Because when it comes to Leader Apo and the İmralı system, no rights or laws are recognized. In addition, we cannot handle these special war policies carried out in Imrali independently of the sovereign powers. Maybe the death penalty has been abolished, but we know that international states gave Turkey the role of a guard in order to liquidate Rêber Apo.
Leader Apo has been deprived of all his rights for 23 years. Not only does the AKP-MHP fascist state commit this unlawfulness, but today the CPT, the Council of Europe, the ECHR and many institutions that state that they work on behalf of human rights are also silent partners in this situation. Many ruling powers are common to this system. It is true that Leader Apo was not executed, but during these 23 years, the genocidal policies towards the Kurdish people continued in the person of Leader Apo. Let’s take a look at history and look at all prisons. There is no example of this isolation system applied to Leader Apo. This is part of the special war. Leader Apo has been fighting for the Kurdish people for fifty years, he has awakened the Kurdish people from their death sleep, organized and raised awareness. It has destroyed the policy of denial, annihilation and genocide that the Turkish state has carried out against the Kurdish people since its establishment.
Leader Apo organized the Kurdish women along with all these. For this, they are reacting to Leader Apo. The enemy used all their means to destroy Leader Apo both mentally and physically. Of course, we do not consider this only as the policy of the Turkish state. Today, Leader Apo’s thoughts, ideas and paradigm are a great hope for Kurdish women, the Kurdish people and all peoples of the Middle East. Leader Apo’s paradigm was developed against a five-thousand-year-old fascist, dictator and sovereign system. Leader Apo has created a model against the capitalist system, and this is why such an unlawful, unjust and special war is waged against it. ‘ATTACKS ON THE LEADERSHIP AT THE HIGHEST STAGE’
The legal system of the Turkish state collapsed in the face of the struggle of our Leader, the Freedom movement and the Kurdish people. Not only Turkish law, but also European law went bankrupt. This is very clear. If the physical destruction of Leader Apo has not been successful, this is the result of the resistance of the Leader, the Kurdish people and our movement. We need to see this truth. Today, the AKP-MHP fascist regime does not recognize existing rights. We know the real face of the Turkish state and AKP-MHP.
We all know that this was done within the framework of a concept. They continue their policy of extermination against our people. The bodies of prisoners are coming out of western prisons. The Turkish state, which continues its occupation on the territory of Kurdistan, does not recognize any law or law. Society is under constant pressure, doomed to starvation. They attack wherever there is a freedom struggle. Of course, we do not consider this situation independently of the isolation policy against the Leader and the attacks against the guerrilla. There are oppressions against Rojava, Maxmur, Shengal, politicians, academics, women, youth, and all walks of life.
The attack on the leadership, on the other hand, has reached its peak. We need to see the danger. Today, the Kurdish people, Kurdish youth, Kurdish women, Kurdish friends, everyone fighting for freedom and equality should know that they are in serious danger. Today, the threat of physical destruction on Leader Apo is greater than ever. As HPG and YJA-Star guerrillas, we are also aware of this danger. We know that every guerilla fighting in Zap, Metîna, Avaşîn and all other areas sees this danger. We all know that the safety and health of Leader Apo depends on our struggle.
In other words, Leader Apo’s security, physical freedom and health are only possible through struggle. This is how we can protect the physical freedom, health and safety of Rêber Apo. If we do not overthrow the AKP-MHP fascist regime, which does not recognize any rights and laws when it comes to the Leader, women, Kurdish people and the oppressed, the physical destruction of the Leader is on the agenda. We need to know this. We need to see this danger more than ever before.
WE ARE GRATEFUL TO OUR HERO MARTYRS
All patriotic families and the Kurdish people should be proud of their children, who are heroes for freedom and homeland. We paid a heavy price in the areas where the war continued, especially in Zap, Avaşîn, Metîna and Rojava. Of course, today we do not only pay a price in these areas. We are paying the price in Northern Kurdistan and in all regions where the guerrillas are fighting. We paid a heavy price in prisons, Maxmur, Shengal and many other places. First of all, I commemorate all our heroic martyrs and bow respectfully in front of their memories. We are grateful to our heroic martyrs. Hundreds of friends sacrificed their lives and resisted the invasion with an Apoist spirit. All our patriotic families and the Kurdish people should be proud of and protect their heroic martyrs. Of course, we paid a heavy price in this year’s war. The life, participation, sacrifices, wills of each of our friends, their friendship is the subject of a novel. As his comrades, we will never forget them.
Heval Evîndar arrived in Serhat province in 2016 with a group of female friends. As a result of betrayal, Evîndar and Comrade Eylem were martyred by the enemy. Heval Evîndar was a comrade from Van. In 2016, Sema Yücelerin fought on the soil of Akif Yılmazlar. Heval Evîndar was also the commander of our Serhat province. He was the last Tendurek domain manager. Comrade Evîndar fought for freedom along the lines of the Heavens during the most difficult period. She gave a great effort in this field for the general responsibility of both our women’s work and our HPG work. She displayed an exemplary stance with her attitude, courage, hard work and as a female commander. There are many actions that Heval Evîdar personally participated in. The stance of both him and Eylem heval against the enemy was an honorable one, and we, as his comrades, should cherish their memories to the fullest.
ZAP AND AVAŞİN, THE FIELDS WHERE THE WAR WAS THE MOST INTENSE
In this process, the area where the war took place most intensely and the martyrs were experienced is the Zap and Avaşîn areas. In these areas, great blows were dealt to the enemy. One of the areas with the greatest resistance is the Kurojahro region. One of the insurgents fighting against the enemy was heval Rojda Kotol, the Zap State Commander of YJA-Star. The martyrdom of friends Rojda, Karker and Doğan was announced at the same time. The stance of these friends was very honorable. They worked hard from the beginning to the end of the war.
Heval Rojda was a friend who joined the guerrilla ranks, influenced by the Leadership, the freedom struggle, the women’s struggle and the women’s army. She joined the freedom struggle at a young age. She fought in many fields and improved herself a lot. She and heval Mizgîn were from Rojhilat. Heval Rojda has always been an exemplary friend with her enthusiasm and stance. Even in the heaviest processes, she would unhesitatingly direct her direction to difficult areas. She already went to the last Zap province. In this war of nonexistence, she said, “I take responsibility for this war and will play my leading role.” In fact, she went to the Zap area with this spirit, this feeling, this courage and the belief that the enemy would be defeated.
Heval Karker has been in the Zap region for 6 years. He was a very hardworking and devoted friend. Undoubtedly, many of our dear friends, such as heval Karker, were martyred in Zap. Heval Karker was a modest comrade who made great sacrifices and worked hard in this process.
Heval Doğan was from the Jirkî tribe. The Jirkî tribe is a large tribe in Botan and it is known that more than half of this tribe is affiliated with the Turkish state. In other words, some of them cooperate with the Turkish state in the policy of genocide. Heval Doğan was one of Botan’s brave children. It is true, as we mentioned above, some of this tribe is not patriotic, but Doğan, who is a member of this tribe, joined the party by opting for the freedom struggle. Doğan Heval served as a guerrilla and commander in the Zagros and Zap regions. Heval Doğan has constantly improved himself to play a more active role in the struggle. Comrade Doğan, known for his practical intelligence and valor, gave a great effort in this war. In the person of these friends, I once again commemorate all our Zap and Avasin martyrs with respect.
WE WILL CONTINUE OUR FIGHT ON THE LINE OF THE MARTYRS
There has been a very tough war going on in recent years. With this war, the mobile team style develops. One of our comrades who fulfilled his role in the Metîna region was Berfîn Rêbaz. Our friend Berfîn Rêbaz was Soran. She gave her life fighting for the freedom of the Kurdish nation and women, fighting along the lines of the Viyans and the Helmets. He went to the Metîna area with great enthusiasm. He took part in the battle of Metîna last year and this year in the mobile team battle. He was an exemplary comrade.
Comrade Ronahî Wan was martyred in the Martyr Pîrdoğan area. Comrade Ronahi was martyred in the action of the mobile team. Like Berfîn Friend, Heval Ronahî played a leading role in the war. With her courage and determination, she fought actively in many fields, especially in Avaşîn.
Comrade Güven was such a brave friend. She waged a struggle along the line of Zîlan. She was a young commander, but a fast-paced, responsible person. She led the Girê Amediyê war. She was one of our friends who fulfilled her role in the war.
These martyred friends of ours showed how to lead by taking part in the mobile team with a self-sacrificing spirit in the line of Zîlan. Once again, I commemorate them with respect, as YJA-Star forces, we will continue our struggle in the line of martyrs. We will follow comrades Rojda, Evîndar, Ronahî, Güven and Berfîn.
HEVAL RÊZAN’S Comrades Will Take Their Revenge
“One of our comrades whose martyrdom weighed heavily on us is heval Rêzan Amed. Comrade Rêzan has been responsible for the Martyr Mahir Academy for 7 years. He played a very important role in the restructuring process of the guerrilla. We are very grateful to him. He played a very important role in undermining the technical power of the enemy, even with the most limited means.
Today, as YJA-Star forces, we do many actions. Those who carry out these actions are the comrades and followers of heval Rêzan. Heval Rêzan has made great efforts for HPG and YJA Star. He was a humble commander with a wealth of style, methods and tactics. Heval Rêzan was a very popular friend among his comrades. Many friends who had difficulties wanted to be with heval Rêzan. That’s why heval Rêzan has thousands of comrades who follow his footsteps. He was a conscious friend like his name. Let Heval Rêzan not be left behind, his remaining comrades will avenge her and all the martyrs. After the martyrdom of Heval Rêzan, YJA Star and HPG forces carried out acts of revenge in his memory. On this occasion, I once again commemorate all martyrs of the revolution with respect and reverence. We will fight in their line and we will succeed.
THERE ARE POSSIBILITIES TO MAKE A POLITICAL COUP WITH FASCIST METHODS
The progress of the war is shared with the public moment by moment. There is a resistance that has been going on for 5 months. The war has now reached a new stage. There were many developments regarding the ways and methods of warfare. The enemy is making all-out attacks against the Kurds within the framework of the concept of genocide. In the reality of this war, the mask of the AKP-MHP fascist regime has once again fallen. But we know that fascism will not give up this war until the end. They will not give up this genocidal policy anytime soon. Especially we have elections ahead of us, so they will do anything to win the war and the elections.
It was a very tough struggle during these five months. The AKP-MHP policy lost in the face of the resistance developed by the guerrilla. Even this war that is currently being waged will not save the AKP-MHP regime, namely the dictator Erdogan. This war will also bring an end to the genocidal policy of the AKP-MHP regime. Of course, fascism does not disappear by itself, because fascism is not like that. Now everyone makes some assumptions about the elections, but this election will not be like any other election in Turkey. There is even the possibility of a political coup with fascist methods. The Erdogan regime can do something like this to survive. No doubt, this possibility is not far from Erdogan.
GIRÊ AMEDİYÊ WILL BE A GRADE FOR THE TURKISH STATE
In order for the guerrilla’s struggle to get more results, our people, women and youth must also increase their resistance. The Turkish army has been using all the dirty ways and methods for the last 5 months, trampling on the morality of war. They wanted to occupy many areas quickly, but were stuck in the face of guerrilla resistance. This is real. He didn’t get the results he wanted. On the contrary, they were dealt blow after blow. The Turkish state hides the number of casualties in this war and denies the real number. The latest Skorsky was shot down in Girê Amediyê, and they were the tenth Skorskys shot down by the guerrillas. So they could no longer deny it, and now they had to confess.
Of course, they also reported it as an accident. What is this sign of? Of course he wants to persist in this war. There are both guerrilla and Turkish soldiers in some areas. The Turkish army attacked the Martyr Fedakar hill in the Sîda area to expand the occupation areas. However, everyone is watching that they have received heavy blows from the guerrilla forces. He probably thought Amediyê was an easy bite. But it was the opposite. Girê Amediyê, Girê Cudî, Girê FM and Girê Hekarî are among the most difficult places. The Turkish state is trying to build a road to Girê Amediyê in cooperation with the KDP in order to get out of the areas it is stuck in and to give morale to its forces. In other words, it wants to seize Amediye with the cooperation of the KDP. But Girê Amediye will be a tomb for the Turkish state.
The Turkish state wants to actively involve the KDP in this war in order to get out of the deadlock. Many things have been said about the KDP’s siding with the enemy. At the last stage, the KDP still displays its cooperation policy with its actions. The KDP has more clearly demonstrated its support for the Turkish state. The KDP wants to protect the security of the Turkish army by building roads. In short, the KDP wants to save the Turkish state from the difficult situation in the last period. Last month, the KDP further surrounded the areas between Heftanîn, Zap, Metîna, Garê, again Behdinan-Kandil and Xakurkê and Kandil. In particular, they blocked the roads in the Behdinan region, prevented the guerrillas from coming and going, put pressure on the supply route to be closed, and trapped fellow guerrillas. They provided intelligence information to the MIT in the Girê Çarçel and Metîna areas.
KDP sided with the enemy in the war of existence-absence
If the KDP did not set a trap for the guerrilla, then it should give us the bodies of our martyred friends and our wounded friends. A group of our friends who continue their duties are faced with the air attack of the fascist Turkish state. This event is not independent of the cooperation between the Turkish state and the KDP. Xelîfan and Balisan valley are the borders of KDP and PUK. This is the land where the KDP is located. At the beginning of the incident, KDP peshmerga are going to the region. This creates doubt in one’s mind. How did a small group of guerrilla air strikes happen in a place where there are so many civilians and there is no Turkish border?
This is a big doubt. KDP agents or someone else did this, but we know that the coordinates of our friends were given to the Turkish state. The Turkish state is attacking friends in a place like Xelîfan. If the KDP did not act as a spy in this incident, because some KDP officials say, “We did not do this, it is not our fault, but the PKK blames us”. If they do not take part in this incident, they should give us our martyrs and injured friends. If our friends do not hand us over, we and the Kurdish people will know that KDP agents had a hand in this incident. But what will he do if he doesn’t have a hand in the case? They will deliver our martyrs and wounded friends to us. It will become clear in the future how the incident happened, that is, whether the KDP had a hand or not. The Kurdish people will follow this event.
In the last five months, an unprecedented resistance and an honorable war has been waged to prevent the Turkish state from occupying the lands of Southern Kurdistan. However, the KDP’s policy of betrayal and the lands to be handed over to the Turkish state is very sad. Of course, we know and understand the KDP’s policy, but in no case has the Southern lands been offered to the Turkish state so much. Cooperation with the Turkish army will also bring the end of the KDP. The resistance of the Kurdistan freedom guerrilla will end the occupation of the Turkish state. History will never forgive the KDP for offering the lands of Kurdistan to the Turkish state. Because the KDP sided with the enemy in the war of existence and non-existence.
YJA STAR IS A LEADING FORCE IN WAR
I salute the HPG and YJA Star guerrillas who have put up a relentless resistance against the attacks of the Turkish state. We draw strength from the resistance displayed by the guerrilla. This war, which has been five months behind, shows the point reached by Kurdish women who resisted with Leader Apo’s philosophy. The participation of female friends, their responsibilities, actions and wills in this war show the female power that Leader Apo has revealed. We draw strength from it. This stance is also the stance of a woman who sacrificed herself for the freedom of her land and country with the thoughts and ideas of Leader Apo.
YJA Star took part in the war in an organized, strong and active way this year as it did last year. Let’s take a look at YJA Star’s actions in recent years. For the last few years, we have shared the balance sheet with the public at the end of the year. The actions of YJA Star in recent years were around 112-114. For example, last year YJA Star made 116 actions. This year, there is no day that YJA Star does not take action. Apart from the general resistance and the HPG’s actions, female friends took an active part in the mobile team and tunnel warfare. The balance sheet of YJA Star’s Zap actions alone exceeded the actions of the entire year. 112 actions were carried out in Avaşîn and Zap. 85 actions were carried out west of Zap. This war has passed 8 months, there are a total of 273 YJA Star actions in these 8 months. This performance of YJA Star shows how he actively participated in this war.
Heval Ekin’s actions set an example in this war. In the videos on the TV it appeared that he was a friend specializing in heavy weapons. For this reason, he participated in the war with willpower and courage. YJA Star is a leading force in battle. On this occasion, let’s remember once again the policy, cooperation and betrayal of the KDP in 1992. That year, the KDP and the Turkish state launched a massive attack from Xakurkê to Heftanîn. A very heavy battle was fought. Comrade Bêrîtan (Gülnaz Karataş) showed how the line of freedom and patriotism should be against betrayal and cooperation with the enemy. There are hundreds of Berîtans today.
YJA Star guerrillas are sacrificing their lives for their land. History repeats itself from Zagros to Heftanîn. On the one hand, the self-sacrifice and patriotism of Kurdish women manifest themselves in the person of freedom guerrillas. However, besides this fact, there is also the reality of the KDP. KDP cooperates with the Turkish state and sells its country. This has nothing to do with patriotism or Kurdishness. Two opposing lines in history come face to face again. Today, the Kurdistan freedom guerrilla takes a historic stance against this line of betrayal. Hundreds of our friends are sacrificing their lives for their land. The KDP has a hand in the spilled blood of our friends. However, he is also involved in the politics of genocide. This is undoubtedly a painful situation. We paid a heavy price in this war.
