NEWS CENTER – Sara Agirî Serhildan is from the patriotic Serhed region, which has made great contributions to the development of the growing freedom struggle by adopting the freedom march of the Kurdish people, which was recreated from the ashes of Rêber Apo. The Serhed region, which has always remained true to the Kurdish values and where the resistant culture and history is most alive, has never lost its resistance mission of history and was one of the first areas where the freedom struggle of Kurdistan became strong.
Şehid Sara was born in Agirî, the area that leads the resistance culture of Serhed. She grew up in a precious family connected with Kurdish culture. She grew up in this patriotic family and environment in Giyadin and like many Kurds she was condemned to poverty by the Turkish colonial state. Therefore, like many other Kurdish families, her family tried to make a living by doing their own work and thus Şehid Sara was introduced to the phenomenon of work at an early age. Fighting against all difficult conditions and social constraints, our Şehid Sara Agirî did not accept the traditional characteristics of women that lived in her home and that were created by the system. There she had the opportunity to get to know the Kurdistan Freedom Movement firsthand, which she followed with great curiosity and enthusiasm during her studies. A year before she graduated, she was targeted by the Turkish occupation police and was taken prisoner. The colonialist Turkish state, which could not subjugate Şehid Sara Agirî, arrested her in order to break her will and distance her from our chairman and the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. Şehid Sara Agirî spent three years in the dungeons of the colonial state in Erzirom and spent this time on her ideological education. With this approach, she got to know her own strength as a woman better and revealed her identity as a free woman more and more.

When she began to know herself as a woman, she developed a deep connection with Rêber Apo and his struggle, and she worked tirelessly to become a fighter for the path of truth drawn by Rêber Apo. She focused on raising her consciousness by continuing her activities in the Kurdish youth movement and responding with her struggle to the pressure of the fascist regime in Turkey. Against all the intimidation and tyranny of the invaders, Şehid Sara was able to stand up to the enemy with her identity as a free woman.
After she was released from prison in 2015, she played a leading role in youth and women’s work with greater enthusiasm and energy in many cities of Kurdistan, especially in Amed, Riha, Istanbul and Turkish metropolises.
