LONDON – The demonstration, organized with the slogan “Defend Rojava and our freedom movement” upon the call of the Revolutionary Youth Movement of Britain (TCŞ/TekoJIN), was dedicated to Jîna Amini, who was brutally murdered by the Iranian central police, and to hundreds of women like her who are victims of the patriarchal system.
The Kurdistan revolution, which is growing day by day by women with their tremendous struggles against Turkish fascism, Daesh barbarism and imperialist powers, and the Rojava revolution, whose ideological basis is the women’s liberationist paradigm of Leader Apo, were saluted throughout the march. London Kurdish People’s Assembly, TCŞ/TekoJIN, KCDK-E Bashur, Kurdistan Solidarity Network activists and many young people and internationalists participated in the demonstration.
The demonstration started in front of the BBC building, one of the biggest press agencies in Britain, and continued in the busiest squares of the city such as Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus.
The main slogan of the PKK movement, “Jin, Jîyan, Azadî”, symbolizing the women’s revolution, echoed through the streets of London in the spirit of revenge for Jîna Amini and thousands of other women like her who were victims of the fascist-patriarchal state system.
“Defending the Rojava revolution is the biggest answer we can give against the massacre of women, the way of revenge for the Sara’s, Rojbin’s, Ronahi’s, Jina’s” said Cekdar Amara, activist of TCŞ, emphasizing that the fascist, sexist attitude of the Iranian state police against women is parallel to the policies of the Turkish state against women in Kurdistan.
At the end of the action, speeches were made on behalf of TCŞ, TekoJIN and Kurdistan Solidarity Network representing the internationalist movement in London, and the action ended with the slogans “Women, Life, Freedom; Jin, Jîyan, Azadî”.
