NEWS CENTER – Describing the situation in Imrali prison as a “special situation”, the lawyers consider the restriction on Abdullah Öcalan’s right to opinion as a form of discriminatory isolation.
Stating that Abdullah Öcalan is seen as the Mandela of the Kurds around the world, the lawyers state that they have applied to visit Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners held in İmralı within the scope of the domestic law of the Republic of Turkey.
Representatives of many legal organizations will take part as speakers in the press release to be held at the Brussels European Press Club at Rue Froissart 95, 1000 Bruxelles regarding their application to the Turkish Ministry of Justice and their demands.
The lawyers who will speak at the press conference are:

- Hélène Debaty, President of the Syndicat des Avocats pour la Démocratie-le SAD (Association of Lawyers for Democracy), on behalf of the European Democratic Lawyers (AED)
