BEHDÎNAN – The HPG press center has published the names of five guerrilla fighters who were martyred on July 4 of this year when the Turkish occupying army used poison gas. The guerrillas Çekdar Oremar, Mardîn Penaber, Roza Hedar, Rojhat Dilbirîn and Serhed Agirî have fallen in Girê Hekarî in the Metîna Şehid region.
The HPG statement states:
“In the face of the resistance of the guerrillas, who are fighting today in the free mountains of Kurdistan so that people can live like people, the Turkish state is not able to achieve the results it wants. For this reason he attacks the freedom guerrillas of Kurdistan with internationally banned bombs and chemical weapons. An epic resistance against the Turkish occupation was held in the Girê Hekarî resistance area in Metîna. From the war tunnels and with mobile units, massive blows were dealt to the enemy with rich action forms. The fighters seized weapons and military material from enemy soldiers and crashed a helicopter. Our comrades Çekdar, Mardîn, Roza, Rojhat and Serhed were the architects of this resistance. You fought professionally with great sacrifice and confident of victory, teaching the enemy a historic lesson. The genocidal Turkish state has once again dishonorably committed a war crime, our comrades have fallen to days of use of chemical weapons. Despite this, the Turkish state was unable to break the legendary apoist resistance.”

Shortly thereafter, her siblings Mardîn and Zindan lost their lives in the resistance for self-determination in Cizîr and Şirnex. Her guerrilla life was therefore characterized from the start by her bond with the fallen. Through the training in the mountains, she became aware of the strength of women and she dealt with the women’s liberation ideology. ROJHAT DILBIRÎN
Rojhat Dilbirîn was born in Amed-Farqîn. His family and social circle were patriotic and he experienced the oppression of the Kurdish people by the Turkish state at first hand. Because he didn’t go to school for long, he was little exposed to the state’s assimilation policy. He sympathized with the guerrilla early on and decided in 2015 to become a freedom fighter. The decisive factor in his joining the guerrilla was his desire for revenge in the face of the massacres by the Turkish state and IS in Kurdistan. The natural life and the cooperative dealings in the mountains impressed him and he completed basic training, in which he quickly developed further. He stayed in Avaşîn and Zap regions for a long time and gained military experience, which he passed on to his environment and thus ensured a collective development. After military training, he went to Metîna and participated in the construction of tunnels and defensive positions. Since 2021 he fought with great courage against the Turkish invading forces.
