BEHDINAN – People’s Defense Center Headquarters Commander Murat Karayılan sent a condolence message to the family of Ebuzeyd Abdullah, who was martyred on 29 August in the attack of the invading Turkish state against Maxmur.
Murat Karayılan’s condolence message stated:
“Dear family of martyrs;
We have heard with great sadness that Comrade Ebuzeyd was martyred as a result of the cowardly attack of the invading Turkish state. On behalf of the leadership of our movement, I offer my condolences to all family members, the people of Maxmur, our patriotic militia and the people of Kurdistan. As a movement, we share your pain. We renew our promise to the martyrs once again. His blood will never be on the ground.
Comrade Ebuzeyd is a laborer in our revolutionary movement. It has been a labor of about 35 years. I have personally known revolutionary and patriotic Comrade Ebuzeyd for 29 years. I have witnessed many efforts, hard work and courage. He was a great example with his patriotism and devotion to his country. Comrade Ebuzeyd is a symbol of patriotism, bravery and self-sacrifice.
Comrade Ebuzeyd, who is from the Dêrahînê village of Botan and from the Goyi tribe, proved that Botan is a representation of patriotism with his struggle. He represented the values of humanity and comradeship with his honesty, purity and stance. As a patriot and comrade, Martyr Ebuzeyd was devoted to Önder Apo, Kurdistan and the martyrs. Nothing could stop him from this devotion.
It is not easy to work honestly, selflessly and with great courage in the revolutionary work for all these years. Our enemy knows well what Martyr Ebuzeyd represents. The enemy knows well what patriotism he represents. The attack on Martyr Ebuzeyd is not an ordinary attack in this sense. It was considered and implemented as a multi-faceted and planned attack. The enemy targeted the patriotism of the Maxmur people in the person of Martyr Ebuzeyd.
The main target is the patriotic line of Maxmur and Botan. On the same day, we witnessed that patriotic Mamoste Şemal was also targeted in Kifri. The patriotism of the Soran people was also targeted in the person of Mamoste Şemal.
The enemy fears the patriotism and stance of the camp people. For this reason, they targeted Martyr Ebuzeyd, the symbol of patriotism. Just as Yusuf Gulo, the symbol of Rojava’s patriotism, was targeted last year, they are now targeting Martyr Ebuzeyd in the camp. With these attacks, they want to strike and liquidate the patriotism represented by the camp people.
The people of Kurdistan, especially the people of the Martyr Rustem Cudi Refugee Camp, who represented honor with great sacrifice against these attacks, should follow the path of martyrs like Martyr Ebuzeyd and raise the struggle. Greater anger must be fought against the enemy by strengthening your self-defense.”
