BERLIN – The organization called THIRTYSIX FIGHTS, which supports martial arts, has launched an aid campaign for the Martyr Rüstem Cudi (Maxmur) Refugee Camp, which is under the pressure of the Turkish state’s attacks, the KDP and the Iraqi state. In this context, competitions were held in different sports branches. Within the scope of the first events, 10 matches were held in Berlin, the capital of Germany, in Box, Muay Thai and K1 branches, referring to the 10th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution.
Representatives of Civaka Azad, Hope for Kurdistan, Peace and Justice Association and Rheinmetall Disarmament Initiative gave speeches at the event.
Speaking on behalf of Civaka Azad, Renas Afrin focused on the Turkish state’s invasion attacks in Kurdistan and the resistance of the Kurdistan freedom guerrilla. Renas Afrin “We used to say that the Kurds are our friends, the mountains. Now when we look at this hall, we see that it is not just mountains. When we look at the Internationals in the Rojava resistance, we see that it is not just mountains. We want wars to end. But we must be realistic. The Turkish state is occupying our land and this war will not end soon. But even if this war will continue, we want it to be fair and brave! The Turkish state is using chemical gas against the guerrilla. We want you to take action against it,” he said.
In the speech made on behalf of the Hope, Peace and Justice Association for Kurdistan, the history of the Maxmur refugee camp and the attacks of the Turkish state against Maxmur were mentioned.
A solidarity stand for Maxmur was opened at the event.
