NEW CENTER – One of the founders of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party-PKK, was born in 1952 in the village of Guzeloluk in the Gumuşhane Torul district. While studying at the language and history faculty of Ankara University, Rêber met Apo. He was actively involved in the first group of Apoyiyan.
In 1976, upon the decision to return to Kurdistan, Kemal Pir returned to Kurdistan with the initial group. Kemal Pir was arrested twice on June 3, 1977 and November 8, 1978. In 1979, he left the country as part of the first group of the PKK and went to Rêber Apo. After completing his education, he returned to Kurdistan in 1980.
Kemal Pir was arrested that year. The Turkish state, like other leaders of the PKK, Kemal Pîr is imprisoned in Diyarbakır. There, he leads the resistance against the brutality of the junta on September 12. When Mehmet Hayrî Durmuş announces the decision of the Death Fast in the courtroom, Kemal Pîr stands up and declares his participation in the resistance.
