Xelil Xemgin called on all Kurdish artists not to fall into the traps of the special war, and to turn to this war of existence and nonexistence and said; “We are in such a situation, which is an emergency. No matter what happens, we must give our people art to fight this war, we must tell our society the truth of our girls and boys who are martyred for us.”
What does the August 15th Action mean for the Kurdish people and martyr Egîd?
The 15th of August is known as the day of resurrection, as the day of rebuilding life. When one looks at history, the level that the Kurdish people were in was half dead, they had no life left for them, they had no life. There was no way to solve it, to bring the dead person back to life again. How can he regain his culture, his history, his identity and his rights. As we all know how the enemy divided Kurdistan into four parts, the biggest part was North Kurdistan, in a dead state. Thanks to Leader Apo’s philosophy, since the 70s, who said Kurdistan is under attack, he started preparations for many years, and reached the Kurdistan Workers’ Party. as we know, before it became a party, it became a political and ideological group, it started the liberation of the people of Kurdistan. Also, in 1982 in North Kurdistan due to the military coup, that is, severe fascism, like a dark and dark cloud over the Kurdish people. All the left-wing parties and those who were the ruling parties in the Turkish system were closed and banned with this coup. A most severe fascism, especially on the Kurdish people, a different brutality was carried out, everything belonging to the Kurds was banned. He practiced a different kind of fascism, especially in prisons. Especially in Diyarbakır prison. But next to that, people see the historical resistance that PKK leaders such as Mazlum Dogan, Xeyri Durmuş and Kemal Pîr have carried out. With their historic resistance, they showed that the PKK movement will be persistent in its resistance and will continue to grow. In 1984, as we know, on August 15th, after long preparations, two districts in Botan, namely Shamzinan and Eruh, declared the August 15th as an armed conflict. The Kurdistan Freedom Movement has now started an armed conflict. This war has come to this day and has become even bigger. Today, it has reached such a level that it is on the agenda of the whole world, all the powers of the world are now involved in it and are focusing on it.
August 15 developed step by step with many methods, with great sacrifices, with very heavy costs. It may have been destroyed several times after that. But Leader Apo’s insistence, Leader Apo’s approaches and efforts to conduct this revolution and this war from limited opportunities, prevented these policies of destruction. The war, which started with limited opportunities, continues to this day. The purpose of this war is to solve the Kurdish problem, to allow the Kurds to achieve their rights and gain their rights. Don’t ask for your right from anyone, get your right yourself. For example, all nations have protected their culture, language, will, freedom and everything according to the rules that have been given to them. But with the beginning of the August 15th step, this reality of the semi-souled Kurd disappears and the rebellious Kurd, who demands his rights, emerges.
Undoubtedly, the step of August 15 was built with heavy costs, so Leader Apo defined the step of August 15 as the first shot that the Kurds hit. The Kurd who surrendered, the Kurd who disappeared, the cowardly and dead Kurd, killed these characteristics with this shot. For this reason, one can say that the first shot killed the fear that was built inside the Kurdish people and developed great courage in the Kurds. The move of August 15 brought with it many important values and in that line it is still building even more important values. Whatever happens, the step of August 15 is the decision to resolve the Kurdish issue, the decision to re-assure the rights of the Kurdish people. That’s why the step of August 15 is different for the Kurdish people, with that the Kurdish people took their new steps and self-reliance.
There have been many uprisings in the history of Kurdistan, and the results of all of them have ended in massacres, but the step of August 15 was successful in the face of all the agreements that have been brought to life in the history of Kurdish uprisings.
When the march of August 15 was formed, there were not even 300 guerrillas, but today we see that there are thousands of guerrillas, millions of patriotic people have been born. In the agenda of the biggest world power, NATO, the agenda that has become the subject of discussion, the issue of the Kurdish people, this also shows the level of growth of the Kurdish people.
Attacks on Media Defense Areas
These invasion attacks of the fascist and occupying Turkish state are not the first attacks, every time they launch attacks, they call it the last attacks. All the attacks are aimed at destruction. A few years before that, they had started attacks again, they made heavy attacks in Gar and Metina, again in Zap in 2018, when they attacked, they could not resist, gathered their strength and ran away. But these newly launched attacks have different goals and have increased their partners. This war is all going according to the strategy of the occupying Turkish state, because in 2023, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, the agreement in which the Kurds were divided, wants to reassert itself on the existence of the Kurds. make alive This is why they say that we have a military Misaq, one can say a military Misaq, from the line of Idil, Aleppo, to Mosul, Karkur and Khanaqin, they all see it as their military Misaq. For this reason, they want to achieve this goal by 2023, it can be said that they have set this as a strategy, they want to protect their state, but they have very little time left. They have occupied many areas of Syria, built about 150 military barracks in South Kurdistan and even went as far as Mosul. Just as they made partners in Syria, they also have partners in Iraq, such as the Turkmen front and some Kurdish movements. The attack that they launched on April 17 on the Media Protection Zones is based on the same plan. Let’s pay attention to using the most modern techniques and chemical weapons now, because we want to get a result from this war. But the resistance that the guerrillas put up is such a resistance that the occupying forces are in a great fear. If they don’t do it, they can’t move forward in front of the guerrilla resistance. Let’s see, because it didn’t work in the mountains of Kurdistan, it is attacking Rojava Kurdistan. He always says that there is a terrorist force that is bigger than himself, and he is talking about the Kurdish people and the Kurdish freedom movement. When they started this attack, they attacked with great confidence, they said we believe that we will destroy them this time, but now we see that they are destroying themselves.
Undoubtedly, the war that is being waged is the war of existence and non-existence of the Kurds, if the Turkish state in the South and Rojava achieves its goal, it will destroy the entire Kurdish people. Especially the forces that cooperate with the Turkish state, when the work of the Turkish state is finished with them, or when the Turkish state takes South Kurdistan under its control, those cooperation forces will also surrender without accountability. At the beginning of this war, Murat Karayilan called and said; “This war is a war of existence and nonexistence”. In fact, this war is a war of existence and nonexistence. From the technique that the enemy uses, from the policy that he does and the chemicals that he uses, he proves his anger in this process. Now in Zap, Metina and Avashin, about 5,000 soldiers have been sent there in the war against the guerrillas. Along with it, it also conducts a big private war through guards, agents, traitors and self-dealers. The war that is being waged in Kurdistan and its mountains and on the entire Kurdish people, artists must see that war before anyone else. For example, when we pay attention to social networks, we will see how the enemy uses artists against society. He wants to do the same thing on Rojava, when he attacks, he spies on people who are moral in the society. For example, it can be said that Mam Yusif had nothing to do with political affairs, but because he was a patriotic and moral person, he was targeted. Apart from that, for example, they go to South Kurdistan and wear guerilla clothes and attack the peshmerga, or wear the guerilla clothes and attack the guerillas, just to make the guerillas suspicious.
In North Kurdistan, the Kurdish people have been put in such a situation that the Kurdish people think that everything is solved, there are no problems, especially in terms of culture and art. For this, every person who is an artist needs to stand against this war in some way, to have a position against the enemy. If he does not enter into this war, he will destroy himself. The call of the guerrillas and the Khwaser leadership of Rojava is for everyone to join this fight. It is important that the people enter the war, because the name of the war is the people’s war. People’s war also means that everyone reacts with their natural strength against attacks and destruction. For that reason, every artist, intellectual, enlightened person and all the people who are known in the society, should enter into the effort and show their strong positions in order to win this war. The enemy is attacking the values of the people, martyrs and the President 24 hours a day, this should not be compromised. The artist should be so close that he sees the danger to the public as the danger to himself. An artist should know how to participate in the process, who to stand next to, how to show his positions. We have a lot of artists, just for weddings, parties and a penny, for a very cheap life, they are always pushing themselves to the end. There are some people who do this knowingly and some people fall into its trap. We are in such a situation, which is an emergency situation. no matter what happens, we must fight this war with our people, we must tell the truth of our girls and boys who are martyred for us, to our society. If an artist has no chance, let him live with these martyrs for one hour a day and understand why he gives his life. It is the duty of every artist to protect the values, achievements and work of the Kurdish people.
