BEHDINAN – The KCK Executive Council (YK) Co-Presidency made a written statement on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the 15 August Initiative, which was a turning point in the history of Kurdistan.
The statement of the Co-Presidency, under the headline “Our people and the democratic public opinion”, referring to the developments caused by the move, and pointing to the major developments that the ongoing move will create, is as follows:
“We celebrate the 38th anniversary of the historical August 15 Guerilla Breakthrough, especially Leader Apo, the guerrilla and Kurdish people, all peoples, women and those who resist, and commemorate all martyrs of revolution and democracy with respect, gratitude and gratitude in the person of Comrade Egîd, the great commander of the breakthrough. We reiterate our promise that we will lead the freedom struggle, which started and continues along the line, to success.
The August 15 Initiative is a great and historical act of liberation that expresses the re-awakening, meeting with its essence and existence of the Kurdish people who developed under the leadership of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla against the genocidal colonialist September 12 fascist military regime. This move, which started under the leadership of the great commander Egîd-Mahsum Korkmaz, became a turning point for the Kurdish people and the history of Kurdistan and shaped history. The Kurdish people, who were condemned to extinction and brought to the brink of extinction by the 15 August Operation, brought into existence again and carried out the Resurrection Revolution in Kurdistan.
DEVELOPMENTS CAUSED BY THE MOVE
It is possible to understand the 15 August Operation and the developments it caused by understanding the conditions under which the attack took place. The great prison resistance, which started under the leadership of the oppressed and Kemals, was carried out with the August 15 Campaign, met with the society and ensured the realization of the Resurrection Revolution. Dungeon resistance fighters put up a great resistance against the inhuman torture system of fascism and went to martyrdom and demanded that their voices be heard in the society. Leader Apo’s entire effort has been to announce the cries of Mazlum, Kemal and Hayri to the people of Kurdistan and to the world. Leader Apo acted with the thought that the most meaningful way to announce this cry was to enlarge the struggle and focused on taking a step that would take the struggle in Kurdistan to a strategic stage, save the Kurdish people from the process of extinction, re-create and liberate the Kurds. A NEW PERSONALITY CREATED A NEW LIFE
While the August 15 Initiative reversed the history of extinction in Kurdistan, it also created a new personality and life. It destroyed this personality created by the genocidal colonialism in the Kurdish society and the individual, and enabled the formation of a new personality. First of all, it broke down the walls of fear created by colonialism and created courage and self-confidence in the Kurdish people. Because of this feature, the 15 August action has been described as a bullet that hit the police stations created by colonialism, in addition to its ability to hit the enemy. This was a correct determination and expressed the essence of the 15 August Move. The Kurdish people, who wanted to be subjugated through oppression, torture and massacres, became a people who rebelled and fought for their freedom with the August 15 Campaign. Undoubtedly, it was the guerrilla who represented this new spirit and personality. Guerrilla, For the Kurdish people and people, it means not only being an armed person, but also enlightenment, change, re-existence and struggle for freedom. Due to the role of the guerrilla in Kurdistan, Leader Apo defined the guerrilla’s existence and lifestyle. This is how the Kurdish people have approached the guerrilla from the very beginning, seeing it as the pioneer and representative of the new life. In fact, the 15 August Operation not only created military results, but also political, cultural and social consequences, and started a new historical process in Kurdistan in all respects. IT HAS ALSO BEEN A HISTORICAL STEP IN CONCERNING WOMEN’S WILL
The 15 August Movement was also a historical step in terms of the development of the Women’s Freedom Movement and the will of women. She played a very important role in the development and growth of the Women’s Freedom Line in Kurdistan. With the 15 August Campaign, Kurdish women experienced the process of organizing, armying and partying, and by leading the Kurdistan Freedom Revolution, they ensured the development of the revolution on the basis of the Women’s Freedom Line. Today, Kurdish women lead not only the development of the Kurdistan revolution, but also the development and strengthening of the women’s movement in the Middle East and the world.
IT STARTED A DEMOCRATIC PROCESS IN TURKEY
The August 15 Movement played a positive role in the development of the democratic process in Turkey and the Middle East as well as in Kurdistan. With the fascist military coup of September 12, all institutions, especially political parties, were closed, the constitutional process was suspended, the ministers and the prime minister were arrested and tried. However, the 15 August Operation defeated fascism, prevented it from becoming a permanent order and enabled the democratic process to begin again. It enabled the reopening of institutions, especially political parties. In this respect, the August 15 Initiative played a decisive role in the start of the democratic process in Turkey. If the 15 August breakthrough had not taken place, the junta regime would have continued the executions and executed the politicians. However, the junta regime did not dare to do so in the face of the 15 August Operation, and thus the executions in Turkey were stopped. Understanding these results of the August 15 Initiative and the guerrilla struggle is very important in terms of conducting the struggle against AKP-MHP fascism correctly and defeating AKP-MHP fascism today.
AKP-MHP FASCISM IS THE CONTINUATION OF SEPTEMBER 12 FASCISM
AKP-MHP fascism is the continuation of September 12 fascism. It is a fascist organization created to realize the aims of September 12 fascism. Just as the September 12 fascism aimed to complete the Kurdish genocide by silencing the society with oppression, torture and massacre, today the AKP-MHP fascism aims to carry out the Kurdish genocide by applying more severe and inhumane methods than the September 12 process. It wants to suppress the Kurdish Freedom Struggle by attacking Bakur, Bashur, Rojava, Shengal, Maxmur and every place where Kurds are and are fighting, and to end the project of completing the Kurdish genocide, which could not be achieved on September 12, by eliminating the Kurdish existence. AKP-MHP fascism is hostile to the existence, culture, tree, nature, in short, everything of the Kurds, and resorts to all kinds of inhuman and dirty practices to destroy the Kurds.
THE GUERILLA’S EPIC RESISTANCE IS ON THE AUGUST 15 LINE
The 15 August line expresses the guerrilla’s way of life and struggle, and today the epic resistance displayed by the guerrilla everywhere, especially in Zap, Avaşîn, Metîna and Xakurkê, is on the 15 August line. The guerrilla is fighting in the spirit of victory of the August 15 Campaign and inflicts heavy blows on the genocidal colonialism. Just as the September 12 fascism was defeated with the 15 August Campaign, the Kurdistan Freedom Revolution, which is fighting on the 15 August line today, will bring about the destruction of the AKP-MHP. The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla is also exhibiting one of the greatest resistances in history against AKP-MHP fascism and defending Kurdistan against the invading army. The total destruction of AKP-MHP fascism is possible not only with the resistance of the guerrilla, but also with the resistance of the whole society with the spirit of August 15. In this respect, the whole society, especially the youth of Kurdistan, should be in an active resistance against fascism along the line of August 15. The defense of society and the development of the struggle against fascism primarily place a responsibility on the shoulders of young people. The youth of Kurdistan must join the ranks of the struggle, fulfill their historical responsibility, organize and defend the society on the basis of self-defense, and engage in an active struggle for the defeat of AKP-MHP fascism.
IT IS ESSENTIAL TO CREATE GREAT DEVELOPMENTS IN KURDISTAN AND THE MIDDLE EAST IN THE 39TH YEAR
The historic 15 August Move has created great developments over the past 38 years. The Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, which developed under the leadership of the guerrilla, reversed the extinction process of the Kurdish people and reunited with its essence and started the process of awareness, enlightenment and liberation in Kurdistan. The Rojava Revolution took place as a result of the historical process revealed by the 15 August Initiative. The guerrilla stopped the ISIS attacks in Shengal, prevented the Yazidi genocide and enabled our Yazidi people to regain self-defense and self-government. Kurdish women shattered the armor of slavery and created a new life in Kurdistan and reached a level that led the women of the Middle East and the world. All these developments are the results of the 15 August Operation. These developments, which have been created uninterruptedly for 38 years, show that the 15 August Initiative continues and will create great developments in the upcoming period. There is no doubt that this situation is the result of the ongoing struggle for freedom on the basis of the August 15 line and spirit. In this respect, it will be inevitable to create great developments in Kurdistan and the Middle East in the 39th year of the move.
