BEHDINAN – The KCK Peoples and Beliefs Committee made a statement regarding the simultaneous attacks on Ana Fatma Djemevi, Şah-ı Merdan Djemevi, Gökçebel Village Association and Turkmen Alevi Bektashi Foundation in different neighborhoods on the first day of Muharrem Fast in Ankara.
“Alevis should know; The fascist character of this state is great. It is going to Alevis as works to prepare the ground for a comprehensive Alevi massacre. They are organized and they are doing preparatory work, otherwise why do they have 20-30 thousand ISIS gangs in their hands?” The Committee underlined that Families should be organized, overcome fragmentation and disorganization as soon as possible, and catch vital situations and agendas, leaving aside their preoccupation with secondary agendas.
The written statement of the committee is as follows:
“We condemn the attacks on the Alevis who are fasting in Muharram in order to commemorate the martyrs of Karbala in the month of Muharram, which is in the ‘Haram month’, we condemn the attackers, and we call on all Alevis to unite and fight for democracy against fascism and its attacks.
Due to the attacks in Ankara, we call on Alevis to take a stronger and more effective stance against the AKP-MHP fascism as per the order of the path of truth they believe in. We believe that by demonstrating the social and political power of the Alevis in a much more organized manner, they will create a very strong response to the attacks and unite to respond to fascism. In the process we are going through, we call on Alevi movements, youth, women, institutions and organizations to fulfill their historical responsibilities together with their administrations in crowning the struggle for democracy against fascism with victory.
THE FASCIST CHARACTER OF THIS STATE IS GREAT
The point that the forces with the Turkish-Islamic synthesis and mentality have reached has been to threaten and attack all the peoples and beliefs of the region, and to carry out a genocide by carrying out a policy of genocide. The history of the Turkish state is a history full of massacres of peoples and belief groups. Alevis have always been among those who were exposed to the physical and cultural genocide, oppression and assimilation attacks committed in this history. In this sense, the Turkish state has a state reality that lays its foundations and strengthens it by killing Kurds and Alevis. And now the AKP-MHP fascist regime is worse. He says that he met with Alevis and visited Cem houses, but Alevis should know; The fascist character of this state is great. These show that a very dangerous process has begun for Alevis in Turkey. It shows that Alevis need to be organized, that they have to overcome fragmentation and disorganization as soon as possible, and that they should catch up with vital situations and agendas, leaving aside preoccupation with secondary agendas. Alevis should see the necessity of developing self-defense and protecting the Alevi society in order to ensure their freedom of belief and gain equal citizenship rights. For this reason, we would like to express that the struggle for democracy against the AKP-MHP fascism, which represents Yezitism, is to update Huseyin’s reality. We would like to remind all Alawites that, wherever there are Yezids, Alawites should participate more strongly in the democratic struggle due to their beliefs.
Alevis must first struggle to gain their freedom of belief. For this, Alevis need to overcome their scattered and fragmented stance as soon as possible, be united on the front of the common struggle against fascism within the framework of a common program and perspective, be alive and be big. All democratic and opposition groups in Turkey, especially Alevis, need to see this truth deeply and openly and fight against it, thanks to these attacks in Ankara.
We would like to remind the left socialist and democratic circles, especially the Alevis, that the way to be worthy of Hussein’s stance and to defend the right of the oppressed against the oppressor is to continue the struggle against this fascist and massacrer, gang state and the government by enlarging and strengthening it until results are achieved. On this occasion, we would like to emphasize once again that preventing new massacres will depend on the joint struggle of the democratic forces. With the awareness that the ideological basis of Turkish colonialism is this perverted understanding of Turkish Islam, we call on Alevis, democratic Islamic circles, Êzidî people and democracy-believers to resist today’s Yazidis in the face of attacks.
