Pointing out that they are going through an extraordinary period, Karayılan emphasized: “In this period, all patriots should take responsibility. Sacrifice must be made. Kurdish youth must revolt; It should not develop an approach as if it were a normal period, but should play its role. Kurdish women and libertarian women; all patriots of Kurdistan must raise the struggle for freedom in this important period. As a people, we can defeat the enemy if we have confidence in ourselves, if we act on the basis of the Revolutionary People’s War Strategy, especially if we benefit from the experience gained from Afrin to Zap.”
The 15 August message of PKK Executive Committee Member Murat Karayılan, broadcast on Stêrk TV’s Special Program, is as follows:
“First of all, I respectfully greet you, your guests, valuable artists and all viewers, and I congratulate your Resurrection Day. On behalf of the leadership of our movement, we celebrate the 38th anniversary of the 15 August Initiative, the Resurrection Day, to all the people of Kurdistan, especially Leader Apo, to the peoples of the region, to the friends of our people, to the mothers of Kurdistan, to our martyr families, to all our comrades, to the workers of our movement and to the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla. I congratulate you and wish everyone success in the 39th year. In the person of our immortal and great commander, Comrade Egîd (Mahsum Korkmaz), I commemorate all our martyrs of the revolution with respect and gratitude, bow respectfully before their memories and reiterate our promise to them.
Recently, we have received the news that one of the pioneers of the Rojhilat Kurdistan Revolution, Rezan Cawid, was martyred in an attack by the colonial Turkish state on Qamishlo. We commemorate the revolutionary leader and valuable commander Rêzan Cawid, and express our condolences to his precious family, the people of Mahabad, our people of Rojhilat Kurdistan and all the people of Kurdistan. The martyrdom of such a valuable revolutionary, a pioneer of the Kurdish people, is a great loss. Of course, his blood will not stay on the ground. I commemorate all the August martyrs in the person of comrades Rêzan Cawid, Zeki Şengalî, Atakan Mahir and Jiyan (Yıldız Durmuş), bow respectfully in front of their memories, and reiterate our promise to them.
WE DID NOT START THE WAR WHICH HAS BEEN WAITED FOR 7 YEARS

The August 15 Initiative is a milestone in Kurdistan. August 15 has stopped the upside down trend of history and has created developments by turning its direction upwards. 38 years have passed since this historic breakthrough. In fact, in the first 9 years, the 15 August Breakthrough was successful. In other words, it has failed the Turkish state’s policy of assimilation and genocide; in this way, the political solution of the Kurdish problem was brought to the table. For this reason, Leader Apo declared a ceasefire in 1993. But the Turkish state does not want to accept the existence and will of the Kurdish people. Therefore, since then, this struggle and war has passed through many stages and has come to this day.
So far, there have been two long-term dialogue processes with the Turkish state. One in Oslo and one in Imrali. After nearly 3 years of dialogue in both, the delegations from us and the Turkish state, which carried out the discussions and negotiations, came to an agreement and reached a certain conclusion. A protocol was reached as a result of the Oslo discussions in 2011. But when it was handed over to the AKP government, they refused. Afterwards, the Imrali dialogues reached a common agreement. Both delegations announced the agreement they reached to the public at the Dolmabahçe Palace. But again, Tayyip Erdoğan, AKP and the Turkish state rejected the solution and developed a new attack process. In other words, we did not start this war that has been waged for 7 years; The Turkish state started the AKP government. They attacked us.
They want to solve the Kurdish issue with deaths, terrorism and massacres. They do not want to accept the existence of the Kurdish people. This is why this war is being waged. The Kurdish problem is a social problem; it is a fact. But Turkish colonialism wants to eliminate this truth through violence. Therefore, it is developing an attack on İmralı. The isolation and torture carried out in Imrali for so many years is unlike any other. It is also developing attacks against the democratic Kurdish politics and the democratic left politics of Turkey. Political genocide and fascism attacks against our people are being developed. Various attacks are being developed against Rojava Kurdistan and North-East Syria. However, as it is known, the most extensive attacks in these 7 years were developed against the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla.
THIS REGIME IS GOING TOWARDS DESTROY
True so far; We paid the price and maybe Turkish colonialism occupied some places, but they did not succeed. The Kurdistan Freedom Revolution preserved its positions. They did not get results. Although the AKP-MHP regime put all of Turkey’s means and spent all of Turkey’s economy on this war, they still couldn’t get results, they couldn’t get the result they wanted. Today, therefore, the AKP-MHP regime has put the Turkish state system into a major crisis. This regime is now heading towards destruction. But they still want to insist.
Now they mostly target the guerrilla and the Northern and Eastern Syrian Revolution. They want to liquidate the guerrilla, occupy Rojava Kurdistan, reach the borders of the National Pact, and on this basis, force Leader Apo to take a step back in Imrali. That is their purpose. They want to use all the opportunities Turkey has for this. Because they have little time left. Here they have 7-8 months left in front of them. For this, fascist chief Tayip Erdogan travels to all capitals and wants support; It wants to reach a conclusion with the help of NATO, Russia and KDP. Undoubtedly, we do not want these forces to be partners in the atrocities and massacres of the fascist AKP-MHP government of the Turkish state. There is also a call to these forces: ‘Do not become a partner in AKP-MHP fascism; they want to carry out massacres and brutality against the Kurdish people.’ We have a call to them. But we know that
IT IS A GREAT DANGER TO ALL REGIONAL PEOPLE
The Turkish state does not stop there; They want to use the gangs, which are the products of ISIS, Al-Qaeda and the Brotherhood of Muslim, against the Kurdish people. He is still using Kurdish gangs. Not only that; On the other hand, it also wants to use Syria. In other words, this regime has formed the axis of its politics and existence on the basis of anti-Kurdish opposition. It so happened that he wants to take advantage of even the flying bird and to mobilize it against the Kurdish people and us. In this way, a very futile hostility, brutality and racism are represented in the person of this AKP-MHP alliance. We are currently resisting such a regime. This regime is a great danger not only to the Kurdish people, but also to all the peoples of the region.
THEY FAIL TO COMPLETE THE INVASION THEY TARGETED IN TWO YEARS

As it is known, the Turkish state wants to occupy the National Pact for these 4 years, it wants to occupy Southern Kurdistan. We resist it. All of our people know about the war waged in Zap, Avaşîn and Metina, especially in the last two years. It is a historical war. However, they could not complete the invasion they aimed for in these two years. They are now clogged. No doubt this is not easy. In other words, an army that calls itself “I am NATO’s second army” and has all the technology of the age; it also uses banned weapons against us. This state is such a state that it uses all kinds of weapons against us and uses every opportunity with cowardly and cowardly methods to get results. But against these attacks by the AKP-MHP fascist regime and the murderous state, the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla is today with the self-sacrificing spirit of Egîds and Zîlans. she is waging a historical war by representing the spirit of July 14 and August 15 with the level she has achieved in the line of free women and her war performance. The dreams of those who have this dream will remain in their crops. It has been seen once again that the guerrilla is an invincible force. With the spirit it represents, its combat performance, and its tactical depth, the guerrilla can resist all kinds of attacks and weapons. Zap, Avaşîn and Metina, who are the proof of this, are in front of the eyes. We are not making propaganda here; we are stating the facts. In fact, we cannot say that we have fully expressed this reality, because the reality is much greater.
KURDISTAN WAS DEFEATED AGAINST THE GUERILLAS FOR FREEDOM

The Turkish state wants to present every Kurdish politician, every employee who conducts Kurdistan politics as terrorists. Unfortunately, international powers also accept this in a way. For this reason, the Turkish state is violating all international laws and methods in its war against us. Now the Turkish state has actually been defeated by the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in Behdinan. However, it wants to overcome its defeat by using prohibited weapons, namely chemical weapons and tactical nuclear bombs.
Again since the meeting held in Tehran, it has openly declared war against Northern and Eastern Syria. ISIS is attacking this place on the one hand, and the Turkish state on the other. As the SDF announced, they have killed dozens of civilians so far. They’re slaughtering. They both shoot civilians; They are targeting our Arab people, our Kurdish people, our Assyrian-Syriac people; They also want to liquidate the commanders leading the war against ISIS, they are developing attacks against them. I respectfully commemorate all martyrs who died in these attacks in the person of Rêzan Cawid, Ferhad Şibî and Jiyan Tolhildan, and I believe that their memories will be kept alive in the people’s struggle for freedom. In short, the Turkish state is carrying out terror and massacre. With this method, Kurdistan wants to defeat the Freedom Cause. Today it is waging a war against all four parts of Kurdistan. It targets people from all four parts, and in this way it wants to liquidate the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and to eliminate all the gains of the Kurdish people. In this way, they want to complete the Kurdish genocide in the 100th anniversary of Lausanne, and even to expand the Lausanne Agreement.
THIS PERIOD IS AN EXTRAORDINARY PERIOD
But our struggle against them, the resistance of the guerrilla today in Zap, Avaşîn and Metina, actually built their defeat. All our people should know this fact. We are in a new era; This is an extraordinary period. In this period, all patriots should take responsibility. Sacrifice must be made. Kurdish youth must revolt; It should not develop an approach as if it were a normal period, but should play its role. Kurdish women and libertarian women; all patriots of Kurdistan must raise the struggle for freedom in this important period. As a people, we can defeat the enemy if we have confidence in ourselves, if we act on the basis of the Revolutionary People’s War Strategy, especially if we benefit from the experience gained from Afrin to Zap. We must not forget that in this period, whether in Rojava, in the South or in the North; If we, as the people of Kurdistan, do not stop the attacks of the murderous Turkish state, we cannot be willpower in the Middle East and the Turkish state will eliminate the Kurds. This is a sure thing. For this, everyone must take responsibility, and we must establish national unity against this massacre and invasion of the Turkish state in this important period. If we develop our organization as a people, united, and skillfully apply the emerging experience of the Revolutionary People’s War underground and above ground with creative tactics, we will surely succeed.
WE CAN MAKE THE FINAL YEAR
