NEWS CENTER – On August 28, 2017, a bomb exploded in Şehid Rustem Cudî refugee camp, killing two Hevals Elî Çîçek and Hesên Şirnex. It was a bomb placed by the Turkish intelligence. It swept away a revolutionary of the youth movement who had armed himself with the legacy of Ali Çîçek and led an unswerving struggle against assimilation, torture, occupation and oppression. In memory of the revolutionary youth cadre Elî Çîçek, who left a great impact in Kurdistan, as in Europe.

Heval Elî Çîçek was born in a patriotic family in Nisêbîn, the city of resistance and uprisings. Heval Elî, who was confronted with the reality of the enemy from an early age, knew how to take revenge like any other child from Nisêbîn by throwing stones at the tanks of the Turkish occupiers. While still at school, he became actively involved in youth work. Here he both equipped himself with the consciousness of the revolution and participated more intensively in the work. Heval Elî, who worked day and night on the revolution, was captured by the Turkish fascist forces and resisted in their torture chambers, just like Heval Ali Çiçek, whose legacy he took over. As a conscious Kurdish youth, he does not step away from his will and commitment towards torture, just like Ali Çiçek of the 1980s; on the contrary, revenge, resentment and anger were sharpened in him. Heval Elî Çîçek, whose dream of freedom grew even more, turned to Europe for reasons he could not control.

HE JOINED THE MOVEMENT FOR FREEDOM AGAINST THE CAPITALIST SYSTEM

Heval Eli, who felt a strong responsibility towards the organization and the chairman, increased his sense of responsibility after he went to Europe. For him, the reality of the enemy had not changed. The fascism of the Turkish Republic has disappeared and the insidious colonialist-assimilationist life of the capitalist system has taken its place. With this awareness, Heval Eli immediately took his place in the Ciwanên Azad youth movement. He adapted to the work in a short time and began to participate in many fields with a revolutionary consciousness. While deeply feeling the war in Kurdistan, he began to concentrate in the deepest way to repel the attacks on his mind and spirit created by the capitalist system. With this concentration, he made a promise to himself. He will not allow any young person to rot, give up or perish within the capitalist system. What is necessary for this will be done.

Heval Eli, whose longing for Kurdistan grew in his heart every day, turned back to his homeland on April 4, the birthday of Rêber Apo, the founder of the new life, to take revenge on the enemy. He knew that the realization of a new birth is only possible with the mountains of freedom and with this enthusiasm he sets out to continue his revolutionary life where the heart of the revolution beats.

Although Heval Eli had spent a period of time in Europe, he never forgot his own truth, culture and the reality of his people and always preserved and steadily built upon the morals and culture he acquired in the struggle for freedom. Heval Eli was known among the youth for his self-sacrifice, strong-willed attitude, courage and dedication, just like Ali Çiçek whose footsteps he followed steadfastly.

MURDERED BY THE HAND OF MIT

The revolutionary youth movement was deeply affected when he was killed by a sneak attack of the Turkish intelligence agency MIT during his activities in the Şehid Rustem Cudî refugee camp together with Heval Hesên Şirnex by a Şehid bomb on August 28, 2017. According to a resident of Mexmur made shortly after the attack, it says “this is the first time something like this has happened in the camp. There is an ongoing investigation. They wanted to sow panic.”

It is difficult not to link this attack to the PKK’s announcement a few days earlier that two senior MIT operatives and their men responsible for the elimination of Cemil Bayık, one of the movement’s leaders, had been detained during an operation in the town of Silêmanî in southern Kurdistan. A capture that embarrassed Ankara and ridiculed its intelligence services.

Heval Eli and Hesên have become victims of the MIT’s desire for revenge for the PKK’s successful action. Through the way of betrayal, the MIT managed to place the bomb in the camp, due to which the two freedom fighters became fallen. They were the first to fall in the camp due to such an open and deceitful attack of the Turkish occupying state. This was not only an attack on the camp but also an attack on the youth, an attack on the freedom struggle of the Kurds.

JUST AS HE TOOK OVER ALI ÇIÇEK’S INHERITANCE, WE TAKE OVER HIS INHERITANCE

In a statement released by the revolutionary youth in Mexmur Camp in memory of their martyr, they made the following clear: “Just as comrade Eli walked the path of freedom based on the legacy of Heval Ali Çiçek for himself, we will follow the path that comrade Eli showed us by escalating his struggle. Whatever freedom demands, we will do whatever is necessary to liberate our people and our country just like the Eli and we will take revenge on the fascist enemy and the capitalist system that has torn our country apart. We are lovers of freedom, the hope of the poor, the oppressed, the women and the youth. Our main goal is to take the revolutionary struggle we are waging in Kurdistan to the Middle East and then to Europe and the world, and to introduce the freedom revolution to all humanity. No treacherous plan or despicable attempt can divert us from this path. Even if they think that they are dealing a blow to the freedom march. What Heval Elî Çîçek dreamed of, we, the youth of Kurdistan, will lead the freedom revolution to a conclusion, save the world from darkness and live a free life together with Rêber Apo Reber Apo by becoming Elî.”
