HPG Press Center stated the following regarding the martyred guerrillas:
“The invading Turkish army launched an operation in the Herekol region of Botan on June 18 at 20:30. On 18 and 19 June, the area was heavily bombed with warplanes. Later on, on 20 and 21 June, the area was bombed with attack helicopters. During the operation that lasted until June 21, there were violent clashes between our forces and the invaders. In these conflicts, our comrades Jiyan and Arîn fought selflessly and became martyrs by displaying a historical resistance as honorable YJA Star militants.
We express our condolences to all the people of Botan and Kurdistan, especially to the precious families of our comrades, and promise to achieve their goals by walking uncompromisingly on the line of martyrs.

JIYAN AMARGI
Our comrade Jiyan was born in Cizîra Botan to a patriotic family belonging to the Didêrî tribe. However, later her family migrated to Êlih and grew up there. When she was born, her family named her Jiyan, but the assimilationist fascist Turkish state did not accept her Kurdish name and recorded it as Esma in her identity card. But her family always called her by the name Jiyan, and she grew up with the meaning of the name her own people, her mother tongue gave her. The emptiness of the genocidal Turkish state and its tyrannical prohibitions could not prevent this. In the 90s, her aunt, uncle, uncle and her aunt’s daughter died while fighting in the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle. Growing up in a family with martyrs and their participation, even her name being forbidden, has led to deep contradictions and searches for our comrade Jiyan.
Our comrade Jiyan studied for 13 years and was educated in the radio and television department of Sivas University. Here she was exposed to fascist attacks. Just because she was a Kurd, her home was raided on 15 February and she was taken into custody. She realized early that there was no place for a free Kurd in the Turkish public schools and system, and she started serious searches. The martyrdom of one of her friends, which developed after he joined the guerrilla, deeply affected our comrade Jiyan, and hse participated in youth work by searching the truth of the PKK and the reality of the enemy more deeply.
Our comrade Jiyan, who did not find it sufficient to take part in youth activities, decided to join the guerrilla ranks by rejecting the fake life offered at the expense of free Kurdishness, identity and name in Turkish public schools. She made the day of joining the guerrilla ranks a very meaningful day, and she joined on March 16, the anniversary of the Halabja Massacre. She started the revolutionary march with the claim of turning her participation in the guerrilla into an act of revenge for all the pain inflicted on the Kurdish people. In spite of the fact that the fascist turkey, denies the identity of the Free Kurd and does not recognize any alternative but destruction, has taken a step towards a free life by putting its name in its revolutionary life as Jiyan. When she joined the Apoist movement and got to know it better, she saw that the free life she had been looking for since her childhood was the life of the PKK embodied on the basis of Apoist ideology. For this reason, she participated in the enchanted free life of the PKK with great enthusiasm and joy, and that warm smile that settled on her face was never missing. After receiving her first guerrilla training, she stayed and practiced in the guerrilla units in the Garê area. She had his first experiences here.
Our comrade Jiyan made early progress thanks to her unspoiled human nature, simple personality, sincere approach, inquiring personality and solid character. She was organized for guerrilla press work even before she completed her first year in guerrilla. She adapted to the guerrilla pressure early and started to practice the technical dimension, meaning and importance of the work. In 2015, Martyr Deniz Fırat received her education in the press circuit and stepped into professionalism. Our comrade Jiyan has made an effort to reflect the truth of the guerrilla, the lifestyle of the free people embodied in the guerrilla, and all the noble feelings and thoughts that appear in the mountains of Kurdistan to our people and the peoples of the world. For this, she wrote when it was necessary to write, sometimes she fit it into a short image, sometimes she embroidered it on a photograph. She always regretted every moment that she could not remember and document about the guerrilla. With such a consciousness and love of work, she practiced as a war correspondent and free press worker in the fields of Zap and Avaşîn. She knew how to overcome both the difficulties of being a guerrilla and the obstacles of conducting press work in a war environment with her determined and persistent personality. She described this period as a turning point for herself, got to know the reality of the enemy more closely, lived by deepening his PKK comradeship, and was very impressed by the truth of the Apoist valiants who went against the enemy with great courage. Later, in 2017, she carried out practical activities in the field of Heftanîn and brought the importance of the struggle for organizational line to greater awareness.
It is based on the fact that every woman recognizes her own truth, realizes her power, reveals women’s will, and learns the methods of struggle through training on a unique ground. She stated that a woman will gain freedom only by exiting from where she lost. With these thoughts after four years of practice, she studied at the Martyr Beritan Academy. She returned to the land of Botan, where she was born, by adapting herself to the new period guerrillaism with the education she received. Our comrade Jiyan followed the footsteps of comrades Halil Dağ, Cesur Roboski, Arjin Amed, Ali Kanîroj and Ferzad Med and crossed into the Bakur area, based on reflecting the Bakur guerrilla, his life, struggle and the country. The fact of the Revolutionary People’s War with great enthusiasm, With great effort and effort, he tried to document the guerrilla truth in the Botan mountains and to share it with our people. He successfully carried out guerrilla press work with his gun and camera in many areas from Besta to Gabar, from Kato to Herekol under very difficult conditions. With his determined, passionate and brave personality, he used his camera in the closest places to the enemy and documented the reality of war. He immortalized our guerrilla forces in Botan by photographing and documenting them.

Our comrade Arîn was born in the patriotic Hezex district of Botan, in a family committed to its social values and identity. Our comrade Arîn, who grew up in the values environment and social reality created by the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, got to know the Apoist movement at an early age. Since our aunt, Comrade Bêrîvan, was martyred in Nisêbîn in the 90’s, she grew up with devotion to the memories of the martyrs. Our comrade Arîn, who is aware of the reality of the country and the people she lives in, has also started a search for freedom as a young woman. She felt shame on behalf of humanity, not only as a Kurd but also as a human being, in the face of the brutality of the business reaction against the people of the region, especially the Kurdish people, and she did not accept it. She believed that anyone with a little morality and conscience should oppose this shame. Having the most noble feelings for humanity in his pure heart, our comrade Arîn listened to the Kobanê mobilization call of our Comrade Leader Apo, listened to the voice of his conscience and joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle.
The act of our comrade Arîn Mîrkan, the symbol of the sacrifice of the Kobanê Resistance, which affected our comrade Arîn the most and gave direction in the revolution march. Therefore, she determined her name in revolutionary life as Arîn and decided to walk in the same line. When she joined the ranks of the PKK, she felt great excitement and her heart was filled with indescribable joy. She saw the greatness of the PKK comradeship, which she witnessed in the person of the first guerrillas she encountered in the Botan area. She realized that the comradeship in the PKK can only be understood by living, and took as a basis to join the sea of free life with her whole being.
Our comrade Arîn, who moved to the Medya Defense Zones, received basic guerrilla training here and started practice. She developed early and gained a prominent place in life with his hardworking and self-sacrificing personality traits. In addition to her works in practical life, she also spent a lot of effort and effort in the intellectual sense. She has educated herself with the awareness that all obstacles and difficulties will be overcome by deepening in the Apoist philosophy and ideology of women’s liberation. She read, researched and recreated her personality in the vast ocean of meanings of the Apoist paradigm. After practicing for a while, she got to know her own strength more with the education she received at the Haki Karer Academy, focused on revealing her essence and tried to become “xwebûn”. As an Apoist female militant, she is based on competence both in ideology and in the art of military service. After graduating from the ideological academy as a candidate for commander, she also attended and specialized in military specialization training. Our comrade Arîn, who was always full of the desire to lead the process like Comrade Arîn Mîrkan, did not accept an ordinary life, an ordinary stance and an ordinary participation for herself. After completing his professional guerrilla training, this time she reached the level of training herself. Our comrade Arîn, who has a strong claim to participation, high faith, sharp consciousness, and clear standards of free life, trained her comrades on this basis and put her claim and will into practice she did not accept an ordinary stance and ordinary participation.
After improving herself in every sense and preparing herself for the harsh war conditions, she turned to Botan as a free woman loyal to Leader Apo. She experienced the excitement and honor of returning to her homeland as a YJA Star commander. Our leading female commanders Delal Amed and Azê Manzikert, who were martyred in Botan, were very impressed by the martyrdom of their friends, and took the revenge of our immortal commanders as a basis. On this basis, she practiced in Botan and participated in the actions that struck the invaders in the Herekol mountains, where Azimes wrote epics. In the intense enemy attack that took place in the Herekol region between 18-21 June, Jiyan Amargî was martyred together with Comrade Jiyan Amargî. With her claim to participation, determination, belief, comradeship, courage in war, stance of command, noble feelings in her heart, dreams and goals, Kurdish women are liberated, It has been the most concrete representation of the exalted and symbolized truth. The truth embodied in the person of Comrade Arîn will always show all Kurdish women and youth the way to freedom, and their goals and dreams will be the reason for our victory.”
