BEHDÎNAN – The press center of the HPG has published the following information on the currently ongoing occupation invasion of the Turkish fascist regime in the Medya defense areas and the historical resistance against it by the guerrillas of the freedom of Kurdistan.
“In 5 actions carried out by our mobile teams; 8 occupiers were punished and 1 Skorsky helicopter was also hit. The resistance areas were bombed by the occupying Turkish army 15 times with tactical nuclear bombs and chemical weapons, 23 times with attack helicopters, 13 times with fighter jets and dozens of times with howitzers, mortars and heavy weapons.”
The HPG press center shared the following information on the actions and the details of the attacks:
As part of the revolutionary offensive Bazên Zagros in the Avaşîn region;
- On August 29, the invaders’ excavators who wanted to build a road for occupation purposes in the Werxelê resistance area were targeted and hit by our mobile teams. After the hits by our armed forces, the occupiers had to stop their work with their excavators.
As part of the revolutionary offensive Cenga Xabûre Şehid Savaş Maraş;
- On August 29, our mobile teams brought under control the invaders who wanted to move towards the Şehid Sîpan combat positions in the Girê Amediyê resistance area. Our forces conducted a three-pronged coordinated raid against these occupiers at 08:00. The first action arm hit the occupiers with hand grenades and individual weapons and punished 3 occupiers. The second action arm punished 3 more occupiers by firing at the occupiers with individual weapons. The third action arm shelled the positions of the occupiers with heavy weapons.
- At 16:10 on August 29, the occupiers in the Girê Hakkarî resistance area were fired upon by our YJA Star mobile teams using a sniper tactic and 1 occupier was punished.
- On August 29 at 21:10 the occupiers in the Girê Cûdî resistance area were fired upon using sniper tactics and 1 occupier was punished.
- On the night of August 29, our troops shot down a Skorsky helicopter trying to land in the Girê Amediyê resistance area. After the effective hits of our forces, 1 Skorsky helicopter was hit and had to leave the area.
Attacks by the occupying Turkish army with tactical nuclear bombs and chemical weapons;
- On August 29, the combat positions in the resistance areas of Girê Cûdî, Saca and Şikefta Birîndara were bombed 15 times with tactical nuclear bombs and chemical weapons.
The attacks of the occupying Turkish army;
- On August 29, the Turkish occupying army tried to destroy the fighting positions and tunnels in the Werxelê resistance areas with excavators and clearing tanks.
- On August 29, the Girê Amediye and Kurojahro resistance areas were bombed 23 times by helicopter gunships.
- On August 29, drone activity was observed in the Girê FM resistance area.
- On August 29, the resistance areas of Girê Cûdî, Girê Hakkarî, Şehid Adil, Sîda and Saca were bombed 13 times by warplanes.
- On August 29 and 30, the resistance areas of Girê FM, Şehid Adil, Sîda and Saca were bombed dozens of times with howitzers, mortars and heavy weapons.
- KDP troops continue to work on building a road to the Girê Amiye resistance area to clear the way for the invasion. KDP forces and Turkish occupying forces keep this road safe and act together.”
