NEWS CENTER – In our series “10 Years of Rojava Revolution – 10 Years of Struggle for Democracy and Freedom” we have presented in the first parts which fundamental role Rêber Apo has played and continues to play in the revolution in Rojava, also we have presented the role of youth in the revolution and dealt with the war wounded. In the coming parts, we will deal more with the achievements of the revolution.
For this, our news agency talked to Yasîne from the community. He works in the Qamişlo municipality, where society is organizing itself in a democratic way. The creation of the self-governing organizations are parts of the revolution’s achievements, which are still protected and developed today. Yasîne explains to us what role the overall social resistance, i.e. the revolutionary people’s struggle played in the war against IS with the following words:
THE REVOLUTION HAS LED TO GREAT CHANGES IN SOCIETY
“My name is Yasîne, I work in the community. When IS attacked the region, it was a great danger for the whole area and the Kurdish people, because we were not prepared for it. Before the revolution started in Rojava, the foundation was laid. Therefore, when the war started, from all sides, our society entered the war without doubting as well. From the civil society side, from the military side, the communes, the assembly councils and all other sectors of the society played a great role. Our revolution is a social revolution. The resistance that has been made has been a great resistance and has achieved great successes, this victory and resistance has led to great changes in the area. Especially the resistance that the women made against the IS was written like a special history. The resistance of these pioneers was carried to the whole world and achieved great success. Man can say that this revolution has led to great changes in all aspects, on the side of civil society, on the side of women important changes have been accomplished.
DESPITE THE CRUELEST ATTACKS, THE REVOLUTION IS PUSHED FORWARD
Today we see how the revolution has become a model all over the world. We can say that our revolution is a social revolution, the revolution of women, a revolution of language and miracle. The achievements that have been made with this revolution have brought new things for the Kurdish people. Although there have been so many cruel attacks on our society by the enemy, our society has been advancing and educating itself on the organizational side, which is why so many successes have been achieved. We have the hope that we will continue this revolution with its successes.”
