Martyr Mehmet Xeyrî Durmuş
He was born in 1955 in the village of Qumike in Çewlık. He studied high school in Çewlık. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Ankara University. Timi has a search and big dreams. He was influenced by revolutionary ideas at the university. At the end of the year He met the Apoyi group in 1975. In 1977 he left the university and acted as a revolutionary. He took part in people’s organizing activities in Çewlik, Amed, Merdin and Riha.
Mehmet Xeyrî Durmuş was the leader of the history of the Great Death Fast on July 14, 1982, and he was the leader who decisively led this action. Also, the greatest belief that proves this was his testimony. . On the 12th of September 1982, the coup of fascism, he resisted with the success of Apogeri’s will and achieved martyrdom.”
Before he dies, he says in his will, “On my gravestone, write ‘Deyndare Kurdistan'”. Khairy, the one who resisted in the most difficult situation, sacrificed his life, opens the way for people, illuminates the path of humanity. Leader People Abdullah Ocalan said “My noble friend” for the martyr Xeyrî.
Martyr Akif Yilmaz
Akif Yilmaz was born in 1956 in the village of Micica Erdekhan. Even though their family’s financial situation was not good, his father wanted him to study. Akif Yilmaz had leftist views even before he met the PKK. and was progressive.
Joined at the beginning of the struggle. Akif was one of the unlimited party members. He was very attached to People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan. He was a humble, selfless and leading revolutionary. Akif Yilmaz was not aware of the Death Fast decision because he did not attend the court. Until his friends came from the court, he knew about it, without having doubts, he immediately confirmed his participation. He called the police and said, “I want to go with my friends. After Kheyri Durmuş and Kemal Pîr, at 17” He will be martyred in September.
Martyr Ali Çiçek
The Red Star of the Kurdistan Youth on July 14, Kheyri Durmuş announces the Fast of Death, never doubts and takes the right to speak and became the second to take his place in the Fast of Death. In short, he says “PKK is not surrender, teaches us resistance. From now on, I will enter the Fast of Death. Surrender becomes betrayal, resistance becomes victory. “Death to tyranny, long live the PKK”. As a result of the struggle against oppression, he was martyred on September 21.
Martyr Kemal Pîr
The son of Behra Reş rebel Kemal Pîr. When the martyr Khayri announced his decision to fast to death, he said that “Khayri and Ali said what I want to say. I will say this. Some may say ‘They can’t stand the torture, they are fed up with life, so they committed suicide’ No! We are not tired of life, on the contrary, we love life so much that we can give our lives at the end of it. These words reveal how much meaning life brings. Kemal Pîr became the second martyr after Kheyri Durmuş on September 15, 1982.
On this basis, the interpretation of People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan for the resistance of July 14 is as follows;
“You in your war, who is in your war in the way of martyrs, what were these martyrs for? For you to enter this way, for you to be in their way, not for anything else. For this we say; The true leader, the leader who proved himself, are our martyrs. These friends gave us a will, they told us to walk. That’s why we did this great work, that’s why we promise again and again that it will not be played with the blood of these martyrs. Play with everything, live on everything, but not on the blood of the martyrs! There is not a single thing about the blood of the martyrs.
For an independent Kurdistan, for a very free one, this happens on the blood of martyrs. The one who says I am with the martyrs cannot do anything more than this and we are all on the path of the martyrs. Our elders and our little ones are on the path of martyrs here and there. A martyr is the greatest strength, a martyr is the greatest life, a martyr is the greatest courage, my forgiveness is for these martyrs, my connection is also for these martyrs.”
