BEHDINAN – PKK Executive Committee published a written message on the fortieth anniversary of the 14 July 1982 Great Death Fast Resistance.
The message on the PKK website included the following statements: “We have decided on July 14, the day when the historic free life decision was made against all kinds of slavery, betrayal and surrender, as the “National Day of Honor”. Emphasizing that 2022 is full of opportunities as well as dangers, the message emphasized that “We will resist strongly and win big on the 14th of July Line in the 41st year as well”.
Here is the full statement:
“As the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the Kurdish people, we are living the fortieth anniversary of the victorious 14 July 1982 Great Death Fast Resistance. We have determined July 14, the day of the decision to live free against all kinds of slavery, betrayal and surrender, as the “National Day of Honor”. On this basis, we celebrate the ‘National Day of Honor’ of all our comrades, people and friends, especially Leader Apo, and wish them great success in the 41st year of the 14 July Resistance. We commemorate Mehmet Hayri Durmuş, Kemal Pir, Ali Çiçek and Akif Yılmaz, who brought us this honor and made us live, with respect, love and gratitude. We reiterate our promise to achieve their goals and keep their memories alive.
As it is known, all the values created in Kurdistan in the name of freedom for the last forty years have been won on the basis of the 1982 Great Dungeon Resistance. It was the 14 July Death Fast Resistance that brought the historical Dungeon Resistance, which was started by Mazlum Doğan in 1982 Newroz and developed by the Dörtler on 17 May, to ideological victory. In this way, the decision of great resistance for freedom and democracy against the fascist-military regime of September 12, 1980 was made in Diyarbakır dungeon. What follows is the realization of this historic decision as a guerrilla and popular resistance in the dungeon, on the mountain, in the city, and abroad.
THIS RESISTANCE IS THE BASIS OF EVERYTHING WON
At this point, Leader Apo said: We became the Group as per the promise we made to the Mahirs, the Seas and the Ibrahims, we established the PKK as per the promise we made to Haki, we returned to the country as per our promise to the Mazlum, as per our promise to the 14 July Resistance. We started the Guerrilla Initiative on August 15, 1984. In that case, the basis of everything gained within the framework of the 15 August Guerilla Breakthrough is basically the 14 July Great Death Fast Resistance. Everything that has been won in the name of freedom in Kurdistan in the last forty years has been achieved through the struggle developed on the basis of this historical decision.
The Great Dungeon Resistance of 1982, in general, and the Great Death Fast of 14 July, in particular, determined the line and style of the Kurdistan freedom struggle. The great devotion to the freedom of the country and the people, the unwavering belief in the truth of Leader Apo, the great courage and sacrifice shown, the deep responsibility and sense of duty felt in the face of history have been the main features of this line. When Mehmet Hayri Durmuş said, “Let it be written that the grave is indebted,” and when he said, “I see victory in this movement,” Kemal Pir expressed this truth. This line of true revolutionism and patriotism has educated, raised awareness, organized and mobilized the Kurdish people for forty years. He taught us to resist and win under all circumstances against the fascist, colonial and genocidal mentality and politics.
GUERILLA FOR FREEDOM IS BASED ON THE JULY 14 LINE
Our movement and people are still resisting and winning on the 14th of July Line today. The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, which has been conducting the most relentless and meaningful resistance in history in Zap, Avaşîn and Metina for three months, bases itself on the 14 July Great Death Fast Line. If you notice, it is resisting everywhere and under all conditions, since it is on the 14th of July Line, and it wins by inflicting fatal blows on AKP-MHP fascism. On this basis, Zap, Avaşîn and Metina, as well as a whole of Kurdistan, are being buried by AKP-MHP fascism, fascist-genocidal mentality and politics. It shows the invincible power of the Kurdish people and the freedom guerrilla to all humanity. He writes the greatest and most meaningful heroic epics of the Kurdish people and humanity.
On this basis, we once again greet the HPG and YJA-Star guerrillas who are waging the most meaningful freedom war in history in all of Kurdistan, especially Zap, Avaşîn and Metina, and congratulate them wholeheartedly for their great success in the 14th of July Line. We commemorate all the heroic martyrs of this holy resistance with respect, love and gratitude. We salute the YJA-Star command and warrior force, which leads the resistance in every field as the sharp sword of freedom and heralds the victory of the Women’s Freedom Revolution by achieving great success in the most difficult conditions, and wish them continued success.
Again, our patriotic people and our revolutionary-democratic friends, who are in an uninterrupted resistance in four parts of Kurdistan and abroad, are also fighting and winning on the 14 July Resistance Line. The historical resistance that the oppressed, Kemals, Benevolent and Sakine developed in Diyarbakır dungeon forty years ago is a source of inspiration and influence for women, youth and all working people who struggle in every field today. On this basis, our move to Dem Dema Azadîyê, which aims at the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan, is developing in every field and day by day. We greet all our patriotic people, especially women and youth, and our revolutionary-democratic friends because of their clear and combative stance, and wish them great success at all times.
IN THE 41st YEAR, WE WILL RESIST AND WIN ON THE 14th JULY LINE
This is how we, as the Movement and the people, greet the 41st anniversary of the historic July 14 Great Death Fast Resistance. In the 41st year, we declare that we will resist strongly and win big on the 14th of July Line. It is clear that we have entered the year when the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship will collapse and go down in history. We see very well that this year is full of opportunities as well as dangers. We state that we will definitely create a Free Kurdistan and a Democratic Turkey by using the opportunities correctly and preventing the dangers. At this point, we warn all NATO powers and other states, especially the USA and European States, not to become more partners in the Kurdish genocide by supporting the collapsing AKP-MHP fascism. Again, we state that all collaborating Kurds, especially the KDP, should not become a tool for the AKP-MHP fascist-genocidal attacks. Because no matter what such forces do, AKP-MHP fascism will still be destroyed and then they will remain under the rubble.
Recently, various speculations have been made by some ruling circles in Turkey about the situation in Imrali and Leader Abdullah Ocalan. We follow them with great caution and anger. One aspect of this situation undoubtedly shows how dependent the speculators are on the truth of Leader Apo. It reveals that such circles are so weak that they hope for help from the so-called splitting of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. However, although these are facts, we understand the speculations as the intensification of the pressure and blackmail on Leader Apo. On this basis, we call on all our people and friends to be more sensitive and to further develop the struggle against the Imrali torture and isolation system.
Although the collapse process accelerates, it is clear that the AKP-MHP fascism will try to further develop its moribund oppression, terror, massacre and invasion attacks. It may further increase its attacks against Maxmur, Shengal and Rojava Kurdistan, especially in the Medya Defense Zones. It may bring new invasion attacks against the lands of Northern and Eastern Syria to the agenda. Against this, we state that our people and freedom forces in every field should take the necessary precautions more and be more combative against the fascist-genocidal enemy. He believes that especially the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria and the freedom forces will develop a successful resistance against a possible new invasion attack and will not allow the enemy to pass;
On the basis of these, we celebrate the ‘National Day of Honor’ once again and commemorate the creators of this historical day with respect and gratitude; We call on all our patriotic people and democratic friends, especially women and youth, to understand the July 14 Resistance Line correctly and adequately, and to further develop the struggle to overthrow AKP-MHP fascism on the basis of this line!”
