People of Kobane protest against Russian silence about Turkey’s crimes

People from the northern Syrian canton of Kobane called on the Russian forces to act to stop Turkish forces from targeting the people in the area.

KOBANE – Hundreds of residents of the city of Kobanê, all institutions and agencies of the Autonomous Administration, in front of the airport of the Russian forces, against the threats of invasion attacks by the occupying Turkish state, which are on the North-Eastern areas of Syria and condemning the silence of Russia, which is one of the guarantor states. organized an event in the Sirin district of Kobanê. The protest came after the recent increase in Turkish attacks on northern and eastern Syria. The crowd raised pictures of the martyrs who were targeted by the Turkish occupation state’s army, whether by drones, or by its indiscriminate bombing of citizens’ homes.

At the same time, a delegation entered the Russian military barracks on behalf of the Kobanê celebrations. The meeting between the Kobanê people and the Russian soldiers continued for about an hour.

A delegation consisting of the Co-Chairman of Martyrs’ Family Council Eyşe Efendi, Co-Chairman of Kobanê Canton Mustafa Ito, Co-Chairman of the Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Region Mihemed Şahin and Co-Chairman of the Legislative Council of the Euphrates Region Fawziyê Ebdi met with the Russian delegation on behalf of the protesters. After the meeting, Mustefa Ito announced the members of the meeting to the public on behalf of the delegation of Kobani Canton Co-Chairman.

At the beginning of his speech, Mustafa Ito stated that the Turkish state is targeting the civilian population on a daily basis and said; “The state is the guarantor of those who protect human rights. Our people are protesting the daily attacks on the people in front of the Russian airport. Their answers to us are; We will fulfill the people’s request and stand against these attacks.”

“We are not afraid of anyone, this land is our land”

Member of Martyrs’ Family Council Cihan Bozan stated that they should raise their struggle as the people of this region and said: “What does the Turkish state want from us Kurds, every day their unmanned planes kill our young men and women as martyrs.” We are not here for Russia to help us, we are here for Russia to do its duty, not to support these attacks and not to accept attacks on us. If he doesn’t fulfill his duty, he will leave here. Let’s join hands as Kurds and win our revolution together. We are not afraid of anyone, this land is our land.”

The event ended with the slogans “Long live President Apo, Martyrs are immortals”.
