BEHDINAN – KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency made a written statement on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the death fast resistance of the historical action of PKK’s leading cadres M. Hayri Durmuş, Kemal Pir, Ali Çiçek and Akif Yılmaz on 14 July 1982 against the 12 September junta fascism.

“We celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 14 July Great Death Fast Resistance, we commemorate all martyrs of revolution and democracy in the person of Hayri Durmuş, Kemal Pir, Ali Çiçek and Akif Yılmaz, who were the martyrs of 14 July, with respect, gratitude and gratitude, and we promise that we will stick to the memory of the martyrs and carry their struggles to victory. We repeat our word.
The 14 July Great Death Fast Resistance is a great and historical action that took place against the 12 September junta fascism and brought the peoples’ hopes of freedom to victory by defeating fascism. The genocidal and colonialist Turkish state carried out a military fascist coup on September 12, 1980 in order to carry out the Kurdish genocide and suppress the demands of the peoples of Turkey for freedom and democracy by crushing the newly developing freedom and liberation struggle of the Kurdish people. With the military fascist coup of September 12, while the people’s struggle was suppressed by applying pressure and violence, the imprisoned revolutionaries were forced to give up the cause of freedom and surrender in order to end the freedom and liberation struggle of the Kurdish people completely and not to resurrect them again.
Since the Kurdish people put their hope in the Kurdistan revolutionaries and believe that freedom and liberation will be achieved under their leadership, the fascist junta administration of September 12 aimed to break the hopes of the people by capturing the prisoners.
Diyarbakir Military Prison was one of the places where oppression and torture was applied the most. The genocidal colonialist fascist junta administration set up a torture system, which is rare in history, in the Diyarbakır dungeon in order to capture the imprisoned Kurdistan Revolutionaries. All kinds of inhumane methods were used in Diyarbakır Dungeon No. 5, and severe torture was applied and Diyarbakır dungeon was turned into a fortress of persecution.
CONSCIOUSNESS, COMMITMENT AND RESPONSIBILITY TAKES SUCH A GREAT STEP
Mazlum Doğan was the first to demonstrate that the only and correct way to resist the torture system of the 12 September fascist junta administration in the Diyarbakır Dungeon and carried out a great historical action. Mazlum Doğan, by stating that surrender will lead to betrayal and resistance will lead to victory, has demonstrated with his action that he should not surrender to the torture system. This word and action of Mazlum Nature deeply affected the prisoners and led them to search. Ferhat Kurtay, known as the Four, Necmi Öner, Eşref Anyık and Mahmut Zengin, who completely rejected the surrender, were the first to follow Mazlum Doğan’s path. It has been a step taken in the way of resistance demonstrated by Mazlum Doğan in the Great Death Fast Resistance action on 14 July and illuminated by the bodies of the Four.
The July 14 Insurgents knew that they wanted to end the surrender imposed on them and the hope of freedom and liberation of the Kurdish people. Undoubtedly, the fact that the July 14 Insurgents took this stance is an expression of their great devotion to the people and their historical responsibility. If this awareness, commitment and responsibility did not exist, it would not have been possible to take such a big step. For this reason, the 14 July resistance was a great action with a very meaningful historical depth and led to the emergence of great developments.
THE MOST CLEAR FEATURE IS THAT IT TARGETS VICTORY
The most distinctive feature of the 14 July Resistance is that it aimed for victory, did not stop until it achieved victory, and it succeeded. The 14 July Resistance led to the victory of the rebellion against the surrender that started with Mazlum Doğan and the Dörtler. The Diyarbakir Dungeon, which the September 12 fascist junta administration had turned into a stronghold of oppression, turned into a fortress of resistance and defeated the September 12 torture system and the fascist junta regime. He destroyed the enemy’s hope of capturing the Kurdistan Revolutionaries and ending the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle in their person. In this respect, the Great Death Fast Action of 14 July is a political move that is not only ideological but also in terms of its consequences.
Today more than ever, the July 14th Resistance requires understanding. It is very important to know the personalities of those who carried out this action, to understand the emotion, virtue, aestheticism and great public love at the core of their action. They said that they were indebted to the people and to the struggle in carrying out a great action due to their historical responsibility and great devotion. In reality, they are the creators of the great values that make everything we have today possible. We are the ones who owe money, not them. They are great monuments of humanity that deserve all kinds of praise.
PKK’S LINE IS THE JULY 14 LINE
The PKK developed the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle on the basis of the 14 July line, and today it is fighting against genocidal colonialism on the basis of the 14 July line. Therefore, the PKK’s line is the July 14 line. Undoubtedly, it was Leader Apo who best understood the 14th of July line and acted as required by this line. The 14 July Resistance has been a great support and basis for the armed struggle that Leader Apo wanted to initiate against the genocidal colonialism. In this respect, Leader Apo gained great strength from the 14 July Resistance action. Leader Apo also developed the guerrilla as a requirement of his devotion to the 14 July Resistance and his line, and by developing the 15 August great guerrilla attack on the foundations of the 14 July Resistance, he realized the goals of the 14 July Resistanceists.
AKP-MHP FASCISM IS THE CONTINUATION OF SEPTEMBER 12 FASCISM
AKP-MHP fascism is a continuation of the 12 September junta fascism. Just as the September 12 junta fascism aimed to carry out the Kurdish genocide by liquidating the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle 40 years ago, AKP-MHP fascism has the same goal today and is attacking the Kurdish people and the Kurdish Freedom Movement in line with that goal. In this respect, the AKP-MHP government is a genocidal colonialist fascist organization that was put on the political scene to revive the genocidal colonialist September 12 junta fascism that was defeated in the face of the 14 July resistance.
AKP-MHP fascism resorts to more severe and inhumane practices than even the September 12 period. It attacks the Kurdish Freedom Movement and the guerrilla in order to liquidate the Kurdistan freedom revolution and carry out the Kurdish genocide. Every day, dozens of Kurdish patriots, revolutionaries and democrats are arrested and imprisoned. A great system of oppression has been established on the people, and the society has been bombarded by private war. Since AKP-MHP fascism has an anti-Kurdish mentality and attributes its existence to the destruction of the Kurdish people, it does not take any human or moral values into account in its war against the Kurds, and uses chemical and tactical nuclear weapons against the guerrilla. It is playing with demography in the occupied Rojava and Syrian lands and inflicting genocide on the peoples. New invasion threats every day.
FASCISM HAS NO CHANCE TO SUCCESS AGAINST THE JULY 14 LINE
AKP-MHP fascism is under attack not only outside but also in prisons. Today, the AKP-MHP fascism is doing the same thing as the September 12 junta fascism did in the dungeons. Prisoners are pressured and tortured. Many prisoners whose health condition deteriorates are not released. Prisoners who have been imprisoned for 30 years and whose sentence has expired are not released. The bodies of the prisoners come out of the dungeons every day. Undoubtedly, the dungeons are resisting these tendencies of AKP-MHP fascism with the spirit of July 14. Fascism will never be able to break the will of the prisoners who live and resist in the spirit of July 14 through oppression and torture and will never reach its goal. Because fascism has no chance of success in the face of the July 14 line.
GUERILLA INVASIONING ARMY WILL MUST DEFEAT THE ARMY WALKING TO VICTORY ON THIS LINE
The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, resisting with the spirit of July 14, against the AKP-MHP fascism and the occupying army, which aims to invade Bashurê Kurdistan and carry out the Kurdish genocide by liquidating the guerrilla, is inflicting heavy blows everywhere, especially in Zap, Avaşîn, Metîna and Xakurkê. In any case, the guerrilla was founded on the foundations of the July 14 resistance line and has always walked along this line of resistance. The guerrilla, built on these foundations and marching to victory, will surely defeat the invading army. Just as the 12 September junta fascism was defeated in the face of the 14 July resistance, the oppression castles were demolished and turned into resistance castles, and the pitch darkness was torn and light was born; The Kurdish people and the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, resisting today with the spirit of July 14, will defeat the AKP-MHP fascism.
It is clear that the AKP-MHP fascism is on the verge of collapse and is struggling in the face of the Kurdish people and the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, who live and struggle in the spirit of July 14th. With the escalation of the struggle along the line of July 14, AKP-MHP fascism will be destroyed, Kurdistan will be liberated, Turkey and the Middle East will be democratized. On this basis, we call on everyone to better understand the resistance of July 14, to stand by the guerrilla fighting against the occupation and betrayal with the spirit of July 14, and to increase the struggle. Victory will belong to the peoples, women and those who fight for freedom with the spirit of July 14.”
