“Our comrades Zerdeşt and Mervan, who welcomed the invasion operation launched in the Zap area on April 14, displayed a historic resistance against the invading Turkish army for 2 months. Our comrades Zerdeşt and Mervan, who played an important role in the loss of dozens of enemies in the Martyr Şahin war tunnels, were among our comrades who resisted the brutal attacks of the Fascist Turkish state, which were inhumane. Our comrades, who displayed a historical resistance against the fascist Turkish army, which is called NATO’s 2nd largest army and uses all technical means without limits, succeeded in bringing the resistance to the summit. Despite all these opportunities, the fascist Turkish state, unable to confront the guerrilla, once again committed a war crime and used chemical weapons intensively against the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla. As a result of the chemical weapons attack, our comrades Zerdeşt and Marwan were martyred. Our comrades Zerdeşt and Mervan will always be remembered as the valiant heroes of the Kurdish people with their resistance.

ZARDEST RANYA
Our Zoroastrian comrade was born and raised in a patriotic family in Ranya. Our comrade Zerdeşt, who started to work to support his family by leaving school due to the economic problems his family was experiencing, started to learn about life at an early age by working in different jobs. This situation played a role in shaping the personality of our comrade Zerdeşt. Our comrade reached a mature personality in a short time and managed to preserve this personality trait. Our comrade Zerdeşt, who had the opportunity to get to know the PKK better while he was working, decided to participate in youth activities in 2006. Taking part in organizing activities helped him to train and develop himself, and to get to know the PKK and the guerrilla more closely. Our comrade Zerdeşt, who sees that the meaning of life passes through struggle as he gets to know the PKK, and that the place where this struggle is most fiercely fought is the PKK ranks, always stated that one of the biggest reasons for his participation was the guerrilla’s way of beautifying life, its style and morality. On this basis, our comrade Zerdeşt, who was devoted to the guerrilla and the PKK with great love and made his participation in this way, dedicates every moment of his life to making this morality and life even better.
He moved to the Zagroslar in 2014, when he joined the guerrilla ranks, and remained in the Zagros until his martyrdom. Our comrade Zerdeşt, who knew how to adapt early to the difficult terrain of the Zagros, managed to become a competent guerrilla in a short time. From the first day he joined, he gained the attention and love of his comrades with his mature personality and stance in life. Our comrade Zerdeşt, who shows the value he attaches to his comrades in every moment of his life, has taken care to create and develop the characteristics of the martyrs in himself, and in this way has taken as a basis to keep his martyred comrades alive. He constantly talked about his martyred comrades in life and played an important role in the comrades around him gaining these characteristics and raising awareness on this issue.
He was not content with the theoretical knowledge he received in youth work, and he always tried to put more on it. Our comrade Zerdeşt, who is based on deepening the Apoist philosophy and making this philosophy alive, has made great efforts in this regard. Our comrade Zerdeşt has given great importance to developing himself in the military as well as the ideological side, and he has developed it. Our comrade Zerdeşt, who is taking firm steps towards becoming a leading commander as well as being a professional guerrilla, has made great progress. Our comrade Zerdeşt, who does not neglect to develop his comrades while improving himself, has succeeded in becoming a comrade loved by all his comrades with his humble and understanding style.

MERVAN BASE
Our comrade Mervan was born and grew up in Farqîn district, which is the patriotic core of Amed. Although our comrade Mervan was originally from Bismil, his family had to migrate to Farqîn due to the genocide, assimilation and village burning policies implemented by the fascist and genocidal Turkish state against the Kurdish people, especially in the 90s. Our comrade Mervan, who grew up with a patriotic awareness due to his family being patriotic, was also greatly affected by the struggle of the Farqîn people, who did not bow to all this pressure and persecution and still continue their honorable struggle. Witnessing these fascist policies, which are considered popular by the Kurdish people, and the struggle waged by the Kurdish people against them, at an early age, enabled our comrade Mervan to gain a fighting personality. Our comrade Mervan, who tried to develop methods of struggle during these processes, had the opportunity to get to know the guerrilla and the PKK more closely. Understanding that the PKK is the movement that gave the greatest response to these genocidal policies against the Kurdish people as he got to know the PKK, Comrade Mervan decided that he should not be left behind in this tough struggle and that he should have a share in every blow to the enemy. Our comrade Mervan, who turned his face to the free mountains of Kurdistan with these feelings and thoughts, joined the guerrilla ranks.
From the first day he joined the guerrilla ranks, he was quick to adapt to life with the help of his comrades. Our comrade Mervan, who has faced all kinds of difficulties with his fighting personality and determined stance, has been a good example and a source of morale for his comrades with this stance. Comrade Mervan, who remained in the Xakurkê area for a long time and played an active role in the actions that dealt effective blows to the enemy, suggested himself to military training in order to become a professional guerrilla, and this proposal was accepted. Our comrade Mervan, who knew that in order to become a professional guerrilla after the training he received on this basis, he had to be able to practice what he learned from the training, he suggested himself to practice and moved on to the Zap field. Our comrade Mervan, who also played a role in many effective actions in the field of Zap, has proven himself with this practice. Our comrade Mervan, who made great efforts to improve himself ideologically in addition to the military training he received, was always based on conveying what he learned to his comrades and insisted on learning something from his comrades. With these aspects, he succeeded in becoming a beloved and sought-after comrade by all his comrades.
We express our condolences to all patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the esteemed families of our comrades Zerdeşt and Mervan, and reiterate once again that we will definitely realize our comrades’ dreams of “Free Leadership, Free Kurdistan”.
