BEHDINAN – HPG Press Center made the following statement regarding the war in the Medya Defense Zones:
“Our mobile teams continue to inflict heavy blows on the invading Turkish army. As a result of the effective actions carried out by our forces against the invaders with the Apoist militant spirit, 14 invaders were punished, 2 positions and 1 mobesse camera system were destroyed, and 1 helicopter was hit. The invading Turkish army bombed the battle positions in the Resistance Zones 10 times with chemical weapons and explosives, 5 times with warplanes, 20 times with attack helicopters, and dozens of times with howitzers and tanks.
The details of the actions taken and the attacks made are as follows;
Within the framework of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign, in the Xakurke region;
- On July 18, at 18:00, the invaders in Girê Martyr Şahan were shot in both arms by our mobile YJA Star teams in a coordinated guerrilla action. First action arm; targeted two positions with heavy weapons. Here, as a result of effective hits, 2 positions were destroyed and 6 invaders were punished. The second action arm is; targeted and destroyed 1 mobesse camera system with an assassination tactic.
Within the framework of the Cenga Xabûre Martyr War Maraş Revolutionary Campaign;
- On July 18, at 18:40, the invaders who wanted to bombard the battle positions in the Girê Amediyê Resistance Area with explosives were hit by our forces with sabotage tactics and 2 invaders were punished.
- On July 18, at 18:50 and 19:15, the invaders in the Girê Amediyê Resistance Area were shot by our YJA Star forces with an assassination tactic, and 2 invaders were punished.
- On July 18, at 07:00, the invaders in the Girê Hakkari Resistance Area were shot with an assassination tactic after our forces took control, and 2 invaders were punished.
- On July 18, at 20:40, the Skorsky helicopter and the invaders around it, who wanted to land on the Girê Hakkarî Resistance Area, were shot down by our forces with an assassination tactic. In this action, 2 invaders were punished. As a result of the accurate hits of our forces, the helicopter, which was hit, had to leave the area.
- In our statement dated July 17, 2022, we shared the information that our comrade Mervan Baz (Şehmus Akkoyun) was martyred as a result of the attacks of the invading Turkish army in the Zap area on April 14, 2022. Our comrade Marwan, who was not martyred, is at the beginning of his duty. We correct this misinformation and apologize to our comrade’s family and our people.
The attacks carried out by the invading Turkish army with chemical weapons and explosives;
- On July 18, the battle positions in Girê Amediyê, Girê Hakkarî, Şikefta Birîndara and Karker Resistance Areas were bombed 10 times with chemical weapons and explosives.
The attacks carried out by the invading Turkish army with howitzers, tanks, helicopters and warplanes;
- On 18 July, drone activity was observed in Girê Amediyê and Girê Hakkarî Resistance Areas.
- On July 18, the Girê Bihar, Girê Amediyê, Saca and Çemço Resistance Areas were bombed 5 times with warplanes.
- On July 18, the Girê Amediye, Girê Cûdî, Girê FM, Girê Hakkarî and Kurojahro Resistance Areas were bombed 20 times with attack helicopters.
- On July 18, the Çemço, Girê Amediyê, Girê Cûdî and Girê Hakkarî Resistance Areas were bombed dozens of times with tanks and howitzers fired from the police stations on the border.
