NEWS CENTER – The July 14 Resistance was a turning point for the Kurdish freedom struggle and the Kurdish people. With the September 12 coup d’état, which is still remembered, revolutionaries were tried to be liquidated and not a single thing was allowed to remain in the name of humanity. At such a time when all hope was lost, the great death fast resistance led by great revolutionary leaders such as Kemal Pir, Xeyri Durmuş, Ali Çiçek and Akif Yılmaz destroyed Turkish fascism and renewed the determination of the Kurdish people, women and youth to resist.

“In the person of the martyrs of July 14, I remember all the martyrs of the revolution and bow to them. On July 14, under the leadership of comrades Xeyri Durmuş, Kemal Pîr, Akîf Yilmaz and martyr Ali Çiçek, the Fast of Death activity is started, this Fast of Death activity lasts for about 2 months. The purpose of this activity is to oppose the fascism of September 12. As it is known, on September 12th, a coup was carried out against both the freedom movement and the Kurdish people for destruction and annihilation. All the cadres who are the leaders of the freedom movement, such as comrades Khairi, comrades Kemal, Mazlum Doğan and Ferhatan, at the same time arrest patriotic people, sympathizers of the movement, and put them in prison in Diyarbakır. In the history of Diyarbakır prison, torture and brutality has never been done. This spirit of July 14, which came out during the Fast of Death, is spreading to all areas of the country and abroad under the leadership of friend Kheyri Durmuş. It creates vitality in the Kurdish people. The resistance of the Kurdish people in Kurdistan and outside Kurdistan is based on the spirit and resistance of the 14th of July in Amed prison.
Even in the guerilla, the war that is being waged today in Zap, Metina and Avashin is a selfless struggle against the fascism of the AKP-MHP. On the 14th of July, today in every area and every part of Kurdistan, this war is being waged, struggle is being done and big blows are being given to the invaders. On the 14th of July, a big blow was struck against the protesters of the 12th of September with the Fast of Death, which breaks the will of the invading and murderous Turkish state. Today, in Zap, Metina, Avashin, Rojava, and all parts of Kurdistan, great blows are being inflicted on the occupiers. This spirit of July 14 created great hope and confidence in the Kurdish people, Kurdish women, Kurdish youth and Kurdistan. Today, the struggle against the occupying Turkish state is based on Diyarbakır prison, and the Fast of Death activity led by friends Xeyri Durmuş, friends Kemal Pîr and Ali Çiçek.
Friend Xeyrî says to write on my grave “He died for his people”. We can also say that as the youth of this country, the militants of this party and the leadership, until the end, we will expand and spread our struggle and resistance with the determination of friends Khairi everywhere. Just as in Diyarbakır prison, a great blow was struck against the fascism of the Turkish state, we will strike the biggest blow against the invading and murderous state in Zap, Metina and Avaşin with this belief. We repeat the promise of resistance and the struggle that was done in Diyarbakır prison, we will participate in the process in that spirit and defeat the invading and murderous enemy.”
