NEWS CENTER – The Kurdish people have always been victims of war, looting, destruction, oppression and genocide. The Kurdish people have morally and culturally rejected this genocide and, in order to survive, have laid the foundations of truth of democratic civilization and have assumed the burden of representing the search for truth in every epoch in resistance to the fascist and exploitative powers.
The quest for justice has generated the legitimacy of Kurdish society’s struggle and has thus become a target for the forces of capitalist civilization and intrigues. This situation, which our Chairman has defined as “destructive,” has over time severely divided people, cultures and geographies, and risks its own alienation. In order to protect themselves against these attacks and massacres, the Kurdish people have taken a position of self-defense.
The struggle for freedom, which is the process of revival and resistance of the Kurdish people, means recovering all the things that have been lost over time. Strengthening one’s culture and language, learning one’s history and background, finding one’s identity and strengthening and defending societal values. This struggle, which has been going on for 40 years, is a struggle that is as proud as it is painful for the Kurdish people and means that there can be nothing but success. This struggle has become a struggle to revive societal values that have been buried underground in seven layers. It has become a philosophy of life that can no longer be pushed back and buried.
The process of self-government resistance in 2014-2015 as a tactic to protect the values of the Kurdish people has become an important stage in the history of the struggle for freedom. The resistance of the self-government against the violence of the fascist dictatorship of the AKP-MHP has turned into rebellion and has united in organization and consciousness. After 40 years of struggle, people have regained their natural essence and will, and this has become a trench of self-defense. The resistance of the self-government has become a great and strong struggle for life and liberation. It has become a national, revolutionary and democratic war. Heval Çiyager has become a concrete expression of determination, self-sacrifice and practice in struggle with his attitude “Being the successors of all things that the martyrs have built with their war is our main goal”. Heval Çiyager, who became Egîd, devoted himself to the path of liberating the people and with great faith that the people’s revolutionary war will bring victory. He relied on the people and became the leader of the resistant Kurdish youth. The resistance of Sur in Amed, which lasted 95 days and entered the world history of people’s resistance, became an example and role model for all peoples worldwide. With determination against NATO power Turkey, this resistance has become a symbol of hope for success and belief in the history of the freedom struggle. This war was fought with few commanders against one of the technically and ammunition strongest NATO armies.
The resistance fighters led by Heval Çiyager proved once again that they can carry on to the end of the revolution and are the result of the revolution. Commander Çiyager and the fighters of the People’s Revolutionary War have affirmed the truth of victory with great logic and hope, and have become heroes declaring victory no matter what the outcome. Commander Çiyager, whose smile is remembered by everyone, has taken a place in the history of Kurdistan and our struggle as Fedai (sacrificer, self-sacrificing) of the People’s Revolutionary War.
On March 22, 2016 he fell as a Şehid in this self-sacrificing resistance in the Revolutionary People’s War and thus sacrificed everything that was available to him for the Revolutionary People’s War. A commander, a leader of the Kurdish youth in Bakur, who will always be remembered with his life, his attitude, his goals and his fight and who has become a model of self-sacrificing resistance. In order to keep his memory alive and to bring his goals to success, it is essential to further advance the revolutionary people’s war and to put an end to the fascist AKP-MHP regime, the male power mentality, the prevailing racism and chauvinism.
