NEWS CENTER – Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration General Assembly said in a written statement that they declared a state of emergency in the entire region and that all possibilities were put in place for the defense of the people “against all hostile attacks”.

In the statement, it was reminded that the Turkish state carried out attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructures with all kinds of heavy weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Autonomous Administration’s statement is as follows:

“Due to the invading Turkish state’s constant threats to the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration regions, the decision was taken in line with the general interests. The Turkish state uses all kinds of heavy weapons and SİHAs, targeting its citizens, hospitals, water and electricity stations and civilian institutions.

The Turkish state wants to invade other parts of Syria, make a demographic change, displace the local people, cause a security crisis and start a wave of migration. These practices to expand the areas of occupation will cause terror and extremist remnants to return to the region. This will also directly affect the interests of the Autonomous Administration, which is achieved through the sacrifices of the children of the indigenous peoples of Syria. On the other hand, it will also affect Syria’s security and territorial integrity. After the Turkish state was defeated in its war against Northern and Eastern Syria through extremist terrorist groups, it turned to occupy Syrian territory.

In this context, within the framework of the basic principles of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration, the General Assembly of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration held an extraordinary session on 6 July 2022.

The decisions taken with the approval of the members of the General Assembly in the session were announced as follows:

1- A state of emergency will be declared in the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration regions.

2- All communes, assemblies and institutions affiliated to the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration will be informed about the emergency plans to be taken against threats and obstacles.

3- All means will be mobilized against attacks in the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration regions. Autonomous Administration General Assembly and autonomous and civil administration councils should give importance to projects to be taken against threats.”
