The full message can be read as it follows:
“To all networks of Riseup for Rojava ;
To all friends of the Rojava Revolution;
To all comrades, in the struggle against fascism.
Today, July 7, 2022, the Autonomous Administration of Northeast Syria has declared a state of emergency for all regions in Northeast Syria.
In recent weeks, the attacks of the Turkish state to all frontlines in Rojava have drastically increased in intensity through ground and air attacks, as well as massive artillery bombardments. At the same time, comrades and civilians are targeted and killed daily by drone attacks.
Since the last NATO summit in Madrid, it has become clear that NATO and its main players – the U.S., Germany, the U.K., France and Italy – have given Turkey the green light to further invade Rojava, northeastern Syria. Currently, the situation is becoming more critical by the day, the Turkish army and its mercenary groups are mobilized on the borders, heavy weapons and huge military convoys are sent to the region. We cannot say exactly when the situation will escalate, but one thing is clear: escalation is imminent.
We need to be clear about what that means. In a few days, we will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the revolution. Ten years ago: On July 19, 2012, the people of Kobane took their fate into their own hands, liberated their land, and began the Rojava Revolution. Since then, under extremely difficult conditions and with gigantic sacrifices, the people of Rojava have built their lives and their country with their own hands. This revolution has revitalized internationalism in the 21st century and created a reality of struggle that is an inspiration to us all. All the achievements of the last decade are in danger at this moment.
Another Turkish invasion in Rojava will either mark the end of the socialist project in Rojava or become the reason for Turkish fascism to collapse. The region here will either plunge into an era of darkness or the sun of freedom will shine high on the horizon and shine its hope to all four corners of the earth.
For this reason, we appeal to everyone to understand the gravity of the situation and prepare accordingly. Send signs of solidarity to Rojava on July 19, prepare for Day X. Build local Riseup4Rojava initiatives and get creative. Together we will rise up against NATO. Together we will smash Turkish fascism. Together we will defend the revolution and together we will stand up for Rojava.
