NEWS CENTER – Since July 19, 2012, the city of Kobanê has passed the first step of the revolution and in the history of Kurdistan, as it was the residence of the People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, it now plays a role in the freedom of Kurdistan and the victory of the freedom revolution. has taken the lead. Against all the attacks, looting, massacres and brutal massacres of Al-Qa’i forces, Al-Nusra and Turkish mercenaries who attack with the most powerful and targeted weapons and commit genocide against the people, Kobani and other parts of Rojava Kurdistan have become a means of resistance. of freedom.
At the same time, this resilience of the city of Kobanê, which has become a source of hope and faith for all humanity, was developed thanks to the blood of a thousand martyrs. On this basis, one of the members of the Martyrs’ Family Organization, Kerime Şewket Demîre, spoke to our agency, describing the pain and feelings of resistance experienced at that time.
Karime started her speech by introducing her personality and work and said; “My name is Karime Shewket Demîre, a member of our Martyr’s Family Organization. I joined the Martyrs’ Family Organization at the beginning of 2010, when the regime still dominated the region. There were only two women in the Institution, the others were all men. That’s why we divided our work into two parts, half of which I dealt with and the other half of which my girlfriend dealt with. Because of the regime’s fakes, we used to do our work in a secret way, we went to the houses, we solved the current problems and held meetings.”
In addition, Karime focused on the meaning of martyrdom in his speech and said; “In the process before the revolution, when the bodies of the martyrs were sent to our people, we did not know much about its meaning, we only participated in its ceremonies, but during the process of the Kobani war, we personally gave the martyrs and took care of the martyrs. In the beginning, our duty as the organization of the martyrs’ families was to wrap the corpses of the martyrs and hand them over to the family in a ceremony. However, after ISIS attacked, we couldn’t organize mass ceremonies for our martyrs, we were only a few people left and we were dealing with this institution.
“The first martyr Mahmud was martyred on July 21, he was the father of a child, and after him the second martyr was martyr Shiran, he was also a guerrilla friend, there were only a few hours between the martyrdom of both friends. From this moment onwards, there was a reaction against the international forces in Kobanê. That’s why the ISIS attacks in Kobanê started, and the one who supported ISIS was the Turkish state. We ourselves saw on the borders how the Turkish soldiers were giving instructions to ISIS. What was happening inside Kobanê, the Turkish state had a hand in it, the Turkish state targeted and attacked ISIS, they attacked in a very brutal way.
