BEHDINAN – The invading Turkish state launched a major invasion attack on Zap on April 14, 2022. They had started this plan with great hope, but after 40 days, their hope was gone. Occupying soldiers jumped off the cliffs due to the guerrilla blows, they threw the dead bodies of the soldiers they put in black bags from the hills, their psychology collapsed, the air attack systems, especially the Skorsky and attack helicopters, could not do anything. At least 40 helicopters belonging to the invaders were either damaged or taken out of combat. In fact, it was defeated on the first move.
The second move started on May 25 in Metîna, on the west side of the Zap. From the very first night, the KDP supported the invaders. Unable to remove its soldiers from the Hekari mountain range in Metîna, the army settled between the guerrilla positions and the area assumed by the KDP on 5 June last year. This showed that in a possible war, the KDP would take more action and pave the way for the invaders to move from their own areas to the guerrilla areas.
In this move, 2 helicopters were shot down within a few days, and many helicopters were hit. The invaders could not even make a position by bringing two stones side by side. The guerrilla actively shot in both arms.
With this move, their main goal was to settle in the area in less than a week and liquidate the guerrilla. But now it seems that his plans were in vain. That’s why the invading Turkish state wanted to involve the KDP in the war. On this basis, they put the KDP forward as a pawn. He was told to be ready to attack. In fact, this process is the anniversary of the 5th of June process.
What is the anniversary of June 5th? On June 1, 2021, the invading Turkish state suffered a major blow in Avaşîn. It was defeated there. They asked the KDP to provocate as they regroup. Being prepared for this, the KDP headed for Çarçêl and Hekarî in Metîna on 5 June. The KDP took action with a large and collaborative force loyal to it. Here, the Turkish state struck a vehicle belonging to the KDP and 5 KDP members lost their lives. The KDP blamed the guerrilla for this incident. They drove their own forces against the guerrilla and it turned into war.
This scenario was actually prepared jointly by the Turkish state and the KDP. There are many signs of this. One of these signs; The KDP had not sent its forces to this region for a long time. This area was known as guerrilla areas and the KDP did not approach these areas. As the Turkish state went towards defeat, the KDP stepped in and wanted to save the invaders.
Latter; Reconnaissance planes of the Turkish state also participated in this move. If there had been a conflict between the KDP forces and the guerrilla, these reconnaissance planes would have followed the guerrilla forces and bombed if the guerrilla responded to the attack.
Third; This movement was for the Turkish state to settle here. But the resistance of the guerrilla in 2021 left them stuck in Avaşîn and did not allow them to pass into these areas. The fact that these areas are the target of the Turkish state is because the KDP has been making preparations since last year.
Fourth and most importantly, there were 5 KDP members in this vehicle. Each of these were from different fields. The interesting thing is that these were not from the KDP-dominated areas. All of them were consciously chosen and loaded into this vehicle. Each of them was selected from areas known as guerrilla areas. They wanted to change the public’s attitude towards the guerrilla in a negative way. The people of the region had witnessed the guerrilla resistance. This fact was seen as an obstacle to the KDP. Therefore, they wanted to defame the guerrilla’s reputation in the eyes of the people and to use it for the interests of the invaders.
Everyone knows that the forces sent to the guerrilla areas of the KDP are directly affiliated with the KDP, and it is known that these forces are for hire. On June 5, they mobilized some people from the region, and the people who got into the vehicle were already the target of the KDP. The murderer of these people is the KDP itself. One of the private war channels affiliated with the KDP asked the bereaved, “Do you see the PKK as the murderer of your own children in this incident?” These people replied, “We do not see the PKK as an enemy. The PKK is a Kurdish movement and is fighting for Kurdistan. The Turkish state, which comfortably entered our lands and attacked us, is guilty,” he said.
Throughout the year, the KDP continued its mobilization and took action against the guerrilla in many regions. They ambushed the guerrilla forces especially in the Xelîfan region and two guerrilla groups were martyred in an ambush.
This year they wanted to revive the June 5 provocation. They wanted to increase the feelings of grudge and hatred in the society. A memorial meeting was held for KDP members who died last year. All statements at this commemoration were aimed at defaming the guerrilla resistance and instilling hostility on those who attended the commemoration. The determination to attack the guerrilla was evident in the speeches.
In the same period, especially in June, the atmosphere of preparation for war was re-established among the KDP forces. According to the information received, they chose the Metîna region as their target again. Some might say, ‘The KDP is dominant in Southern Kurdistan and is free to deploy its forces in these regions’. But if this movement targets guerrilla areas and then the same area is attacked by the Turkish state, this shows that the KDP has taken a great responsibility and burden in this plan.
Another incident that emerged in this process was at Tepe Ortê in Metîna. Here, the invading Turkish state secretly positioned some of its forces and wanted to attack the guerrilla units. Guerrilla forces noticed the movement of these invaders and took several actions in a row. Therefore, the KDP came here a few days later and settled where the invaders were ambushing. When the guerrilla invaders hit here, the media affiliated with the KDP described it as an attack on the peshmerga and served it to the public. But mainly, the KDP cleared this area of mines, creating an opportunity for the invaders to defend themselves behind them.
In general, the KDP has preparations. The exact time to act is unclear. This reality depends on the state of the war and as I mentioned it is the second move. That is the war in Metîna. If the Turkish state fails to achieve a result again -which it has not achieved so far – the KDP will step in.
We can define the participation of the KDP in this war as the third move. Just as they tried to pull the guerrilla from the war against the invading attack by attracting the guerrilla concentration on themselves on June 5 last year, the Metîna State Command changed its style and tactics due to this situation. This, in turn, affected the Zendura front and led to the martyrdom of the insurgents here. This year, they will step in for a similar purpose. In other words, when the hope of the Turkish state is exhausted, the KDP will draw its sword in the name of Kurdishness and turn to the guerrilla. But it doesn’t seem like it will change its guerrilla style and tactics this year. In case of an attack, the guerrilla will give the necessary response. The KDP will officially enter this war, and it will become a position of the invaders targeted by the guerrilla.
Metîna is different from other regions. There is no public in other areas and the Turkish state can hide it from the public no matter what it does. But this is not possible in Metîna, Derelok and Şêladize. In order for this area to be occupied, the KDP needs to take action and present the guerrilla resistance as if it were against them. In this way, it will try to gain the attitude of the people and show the guerrilla forces as the culprit of the Turkish state’s arrival in the area. Their plans and games are in this direction.
To recall, last year, the KDP established 50 bases and watchtowers in the region for the Turkish army to settle on the Qashura line in Metina. This year, their mobility may be in the form of a direct attack. If the KDP doesn’t stop its preparations, if it doesn’t sit on its tail in common terms, it may be the reason for a war in which the Kurdish people have no interest. The situation in the region is sensitive and alarming enough. As stated by the guerrilla commanders, parties other than the KDP should also be vigilant against this plan and they should know that their silence means that they serve the invasion plan. At the same time, the notables of the society, opinion leaders, politicians, artists and leaders of the society should openly express their attitudes towards the KDP and explain this to the Kurdish people. The war against the Turkish state is already a war against the Kurdish public enemies. This fact is known. But if the KDP joins this war, its consequences will affect the gains of Southern Kurdistan and the Kurdish people, and weaken the struggle of the Kurdish people. That’s why the KDP officials either come back to their senses and withdraw or become the cause of the great crisis and chaos in Kurdistan.
