FRANKFURT – TekoJIN kicked off its 2nd Young Women’s Congress on June 11th at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Kurdish and internationalist young women from across Europe attended the congress dressed in cultural costumes. The university hall where the congress was held was decorated with photographs of martyrs, TekoJIN, JXK flags and posters of Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Ocalan.
The role of women, especially young women, in the years-long revolutionary struggle of the Kurdish people, in the institution of democratic confederalism and in the creation of a socially ecologically free world, has been outstanding. At the young women’s congress, young women are discussing that only when they are organized can they stand against the fascist enemy and create a free Kurdistan against the fascist occupation. For this reason: “To dare to dream is to dare to be free.” They are organizing their congress with this motto. The congress emphasizes that young women must organize themselves to respond to the attacks against women and Kurdish peoples.
The young women’s movement started their congress with a minute of silence. TekoJIN and TJK-E started their congress with an opening speech. During the congress, the political process will be discussed and a plan for the upcoming process will be created. Young women state that they need to organize in Europe to fight for the physical freedom of Rêber APO and the paradigm of freedom created.
