BEHDINAN – KCK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) Presidential Council member Sozdar Avesta called on young women. Sozdar Avesta called on young women in an interview with the Young Women’s website, saying: “We believe that you must play your most important role in time and make your contributions and build a democratic nation in all fields you will take the lead against capitalist modernity for an alternative life, a free life, an equal and democratic life.
“From the free mountains, in the place of the resistance of honor, in the defense of Kurdistan, under the leadership of the YJA-Star freedom guerrillas and the HPG, an uninterrupted heroism is being carried out. Within the scope of the ‘Dem Dema Azadiyê’ move led by young women, the ‘Werin Cenga Azadî’ slogan, which started on March 8 and Newroz on the anniversary of the 50th Free Leadership March, is still continuing. I salute and congratulate your resistance and participation.
Heroic young women, as it is known, today in Kurdistan, the fascism of the Turkish state, AKP-MHP fascism and KDP treason are united and continue all kinds of occupation attacks on the whole of Kurdistan. Finally, on April 17th, they once again aimed to destroy the guerrilla with invasion attacks and genocide against the Kurdish people in the person of the guerrilla, especially to break the hopes and freedoms of women. But against this occupation, a breathless resistance is being waged in Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn and wherever the Freedom Guerrilla is, the YJA-Star freedom guerrillas, who have left their mark on this resistance, are also young.
Nowhere has humanity witnessed the resistance that young girls put forth in this resistance today. We know that today young women, under the leadership of Komalên Jinên Ciwan, based on the ideas and philosophy of Leader Apo, under the leadership of PAJK have become the hope, belief and consciousness of all women in Kurdistan and abroad. Most of all, it is the young women who organize themselves in this line and reach the spirit of struggle. All over the world, especially in Kurdistan, genocide and rape policies are being carried out on women. There is a policy that wants to enslave women in every field and to exclude them from the system. Especially through young women, policies are being carried out to distract them from recognizing the enemy and to draw them into the capitalist system, thus spreading the power mentality of capitalist modernity as poison. Today we see that capitalist modernity, by presenting its liberal mentality as freedom, develops its plans and projects mostly through women. Young women everywhere are under attack by the system, the state attacks them, the family attacks them, and wherever they go, they are under attack. The only place where she can breathe is the Media Defense Areas and the guerrilla ranks. In order to destroy this, they are carrying out a brutal attack.
As Leader Apo stated, the Kurdistan Revolution, the Middle East Revolution is the women’s liberation revolution. And the women’s liberation revolution is developing under the leadership of honorable, pioneering, knowledgeable, and talented young women.
Dear friends, you know that we are in June, June has an important place in the history of free women. June is the month of the martyrdom of our great martyrs, our goddess of freedom, Martyr Zilan, Martyr Sema, Martyr Gulan. The lives and struggles of our 3 friends who were martyred in this month show us the free life as a manifesto. In the person of these 3 friends, I commemorate with respect, love and gratitude all the martyrs of the revolution, the pioneers of the revolution and all our martyrs who raised the struggle in the line of Zilan, Sema, Gulan every minute and every moment, in the person of the martyrs of June, I bow to their memories. Once again, I reiterate the promise that we will definitely win the physical freedom of Leader Apo in the line of resistance of Semas, Zilans and resistance. In order to win, it is necessary to claim their duties. The duty of young women is clear, young women should know that every minute they remain in the system, they move away from their essence, their existence, their women’s values, their values of freedom. It is the duty of every young woman to take themselves out of the system, to fight against the system in every field they are in.
No matter what field they are in, just as young women are leading the revolution within our movement under the leadership of PAJK, just as they are leading the war in the guerrilla areas against the fascism of the Turkish state, protecting all of Kurdistan and humanity, in all revolutionary areas; Bakur, Turkey, Rojhilat, Iran, Bashûr, Iraq, North-East Syria and Syria, young women must play a leading role and embrace their duties.
Dear friends, today young women have an organization. They are organizing themselves under the roof of Komalên Jinên Ciwan and they have institutions and organizations in every field. Every young woman should join these organizations and get organized. Some young women say, “How can we participate? The state, family, system, male domination are obstacles for us.” You may say. But you should know very well that the only obstacle in front of you is that you cannot have your own will. If you make the right decision, if you have the right participation in your mind and heart, the way is open, you can participate to the end.
Look, this year at Newroz, our movement is continuing Leader Apo’s 50-year march for freedom. Today he is under severe isolation, the fascism of the Turkish state is directing all its attacks first on Imrali Island. It does not want even a word of the leadership to reach the society and women. The move for the physical freedom of Leader Apo is a very important move. The move will continue until the physical freedom of the Leader Apo is realized, and you should join the march for the freedom of the Leader Apo with your duties as a pioneer, leader and comrade in this move and let us win the physical freedom of the Leader.
We know that today in every field of struggle, in the guerrilla ranks, great heroism has been going on for months. They want to suffocate the guerrilla with banned weapons, chemical weapons, all technical weapons, we must be the breath of the guerrilla in every field, we must be the voice of the guerrilla, we must participate and form a circle of resistance.
Heroic, activist young girls, young women, as Leader Apo says, a woman who struggles becomes liberated, a liberated woman becomes beautiful, and a beautiful woman is loved. If a woman does not become an activist, does not struggle, does not become free, does not become beautiful, there can be no love. Under the name of love, they want to deceive and make immorality and unscrupulousness dominate society, but know that these are all lies. Today we see that they want to develop immorality in Kurdistan through special warfare on young women in Kurdistan, by placing their contras, fascist police and soldiers, by putting them in contact with young women of Kurdistan. It also develops drugs in Kurdistan and wants to develop prostitution in private houses. All of this is special war. We know all this, but you may ask how we can prevent it. For 50 years, the free women’s movement has been organizing itself in the line of Leader Apo, we have given thousands of martyrs for this cause, and today a great struggle is being waged in Kurdistan and in the 4 continents of the world. There is a great outcry for the freedom of Leader Apo everywhere, especially starting from the UK, women, young women, international young women play a great role in the movements seeking freedom in the social sphere, in trade unions, civil organizations and in the social sphere. I especially salute the international women who are participating in this movement and struggling for their freedom. They are aware that today, freedom is certain in the ideas and thoughts of Leader Apo and in the women’s freedom struggle that is developing in Kurdistan. Today, I want to emphasize once again that our direction must be in the guerrilla ranks, we must turn to Zap, Metîna, Avaşîn, Botan, Dersim, Amed, Garzan and all areas of struggle. Everyone should know very well that if the Zap Resistance wins, all women will be one step closer to their freedom and can play their role in society more effectively.
On the one hand, they must strengthen and participate in the struggle, but on the other hand, not a single young woman in society should be left unorganized. Wherever there is fascism, wherever there is occupation, wherever they want to enslave women, young women must take a stand, organize themselves and implement their legitimate defense. The legitimate defense started under the leadership of women. If 30 years ago heval Bêrîtan, Gülnaz Karataş threw herself off a cliff to avoid being captured by betrayers, for 30 years women have been developing the line of struggle along the lines of Bêrîtan. Our line is the Bêrîtan line. Our Free Life Manifesto is Zilan, our responsibility towards Leader Apo is Sema, our line of command is Gulan, and especially the line of the YJA-Star guerrillas who have a militant stance in Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn today. We must see this well and participate accordingly.
Dear friends, young women, heroic and beautiful women, as it is known, today in Kurdistan the occupation attacks against the freedom movement in the person of Leader Apo aiming at genocide and occupation of Kurdistan continue. At the same time, preparations are being made for invasion attacks on North-East Syria, and attacks on our Yazidi people in Shengal were carried out by the AKP-MHP fascism and KDP betrayal. They want to break the hope of women and young girls all over Kurdistan. In order not to allow this and to frustrate the dreams of the enemy, in order to ensure a free life in a free Kurdistan with a free Leader, the ‘Werin Cenga Azadiyê’ move initiated under the leadership of Komalên Jinên Ciwan and Komalên Ciwan must be developed everywhere. All Kurdistan youth must embrace this struggle led by women wherever they are. In this regard, I invite you to participate in this resistance led by the YJA-Star guerrillas.
