NEWS CENTER – Turkey has given up its opposition to the admission of Sweden and Finland to NATO. After meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a memorandum of understanding was signed. “Our terror law is undergoing the biggest revision in 30 years,” the Swedish prime minister said after meeting with NATO chief Stoltenberg in Brussels on Monday. “Also, constitutional amendments are being prepared that will pave the way for the criminalization of participation in terrorist organizations,” he said.
The PKK Foreign Relations Committee reacted to NATO’s enlargement steps when it negotiated Kurdish gains, values, freedom and struggle.
The Committee’s written statement titled “To the press, peoples, women and progressive humanity” is as follows:
“NATO’s use of the Kurdish people’s achievements, values, freedom and struggle as material for its expansion steps is, in a word, a declaration of its hostility towards the Kurdish people.
The fact that Finland and Sweden, who were shown as representatives of “democracy” on 28 June in Madrid, the capital of Spain, reached an agreement with the Turkish state’s most fascist, massacrer and anti-democracy anti-democracy government on a fascist policy is an expression of their hypocritical and dirty situation. It is the revealing and deciphering of the real face of the system described as Western “democracy” with all its nakedness. He showed that everything can be negotiated for his interests, as he failed the decision to support the Kurds, which he took at the congress of the Social Democratic Party of Sweden. This is also a great injustice to its members who believe in him and to society in Sweden.
The agreement reached at the NATO meeting in Madrid is that the Turkish state publicly owns and undertakes the massacre and genocidal policy against the Kurdish people for a century. Today, the Kurdish people impose democracy on the fascist Turkish state, which colonized Kurdistan with the Treaty of Lausanne and imposed denial, destruction and genocide on the Kurdish people in their own lands, with its heightened political awareness and organization. No power in the world will be able to defeat these people. The fascist Turkish state cannot stop the collapse of the Kurdish people in the face of the freedom struggle, and therefore thinks that it can implement the genocide with international support. NATO has provided all kinds of support to the Turkish Republic since 1985. Despite this, the Kurdish freedom struggle has reached the peak of history today. The Kurdish people have hundreds of millions of friends all over the world, especially in Sweden and Finland. Against those who gave the green light to the Kurdish genocide with the fascist Turkish state, the Kurds, together with their friends, will further raise the struggle for peace and democracy.”
