BEHDİNAN – Commemorating PKK guerrilla Zeynep Kınacı on the 26th anniversary of her sacrifice, the PAJK Coordination stated that Kınacı’s action is a “manifestation of women’s passion for freedom, patriotism, deep devotion to their land, anger at colonialism, and revolutionary women’s stance”.
PAJK explains:
“Our freedom movement, which made great changes for women and peoples by making revolutions within the revolution, also created great revolutionary pioneers that led to historical changes. Those who have a great passion for freedom and a deep joy of life will have the same anger against fascism and reaction. Equipping themselves with the historical awareness of their experiences, the leading personalities become the owners of meaningful actions that will change the course of history with their foresight for the future.
We commemorate comrade Zilan (Zeynep Kınacı), the great martyr of our women’s liberation movement, who represents and sustains the culture of resistance for millennia, who shows us the glory of devotion to meaningful life and freedom, who dedicates his heart, brain and body to freedom and truth, with love, respect and gratitude on his 26th martyrdom anniversary.
Comrade Zilan joined the ranks of the struggle at a time when the genocidal Turkish state applied all its dirty war methods, said “it will either end or it will end”, and when JİTEM and the deep state carried out heavy attacks against our people and our movement with the support of Gladio. The colonialist Turkish state wanted to complete its policy of genocide with the assassination it carried out against our Leader on May 6, 1996. Comrade Zilan realized the magnitude of the danger with the attack against Leader Apo, and clarified his stance that guides the process with a deep historical analysis and high foresight. By saying “I want to have a meaningful life and a great action”, Comrade Zilan showed how we should understand and respond to processes at the highest level. Leader Apo is against colonialism in reality, Raising awareness of the great anger that has accumulated against the male mentality, he became the leading commander of our bodyguard line, which ‘loves life enough to die for it’ against the genocide. At a time when our leadership is targeted, on 30 June in Dersim, TC. It exploded in the brain of fascism by transforming into an army power by organizing every particle in its body, in a place where the state said ‘We finished the Kurd’. In Dersim, where the core culture of Kurdistan was tried to be destroyed by genocide, they carried out guerrilla activities, felt the history of Kurdistan to their bones, and gave life to the resistance like the valiant Kurdish women Besê and Zarife. Leader Apo, “Zilan is a goddess who must bow before her.” By making an evaluation, he emphasized the historical aspect of the action as well as the current results.

Comrade Zilan not only showed how a womanly attitude should be in the face of the enemy, but also became a guide for the institutionalization of our women’s army and our party. With her action, she became the manifestation of the passion for women’s freedom, patriotism, deep devotion to her land, anger against colonialism and revolutionary women’s stance. She became the first embodied expression and practical implementer of the ideology of women’s liberation with her thought and action. The women’s freedom struggle developed by Leader Apo; Comrade Zilan gave the most meaningful response with his action.
Kurdish women, who are fighting along the line of Zilan, are in a historical reckoning with the dominant civilization. Our 50-year struggle for freedom and the history of our women’s army, whose 30th anniversary we are preparing to welcome, have created thousands of heroes and created an enormous legacy of freedom. As the owners of this legacy, which is the result of heavy and painful costs, we are aware that we have taken over the flag and are responsible for leading it to victory. On the anniversary of the great action of Comrade Goddess Zilan, in our 50th year of our Party and 30th Year of Army, we continue the march of Kurdishness and women to victory with a great assertion.
On the historical path illuminated by Comrade Zilan, the PAJK militants, who are currently demonstrating an epic resistance in Bakure Kurdistan, Zap, Avaşin and Metina, represent the Zilan line with the spirit of APO. A relentless war is being waged against colonialism with a high self-sacrificing stance on the peaks of the Kurdistan mountains. The self-evident resistance is the culmination of Comrade Zilan’s creative style, which defeats the enemy with ideological consciousness and tactical depth, in the guerrilla style of the period.
The unprecedented resistance of the brave women freedom fighters who fought against the occupation of Kurdistan and the genocidal policies is the expression of this truth. Fighting valiantly and rooting out the enemy, YJA STAR guerrillas show that they are the successors of Zilan with great revolutionary enthusiasm.
The Kurdish woman, who became an army, became a party and organized with a great passion for freedom, became the guarantee of all freedoms with her determined struggle against the male-dominated mentality, fascism and colonialism. Our most meaningful response will be to defend the freedom of women, especially the physical freedom of Leader Apo, and every inch of Kurdistan’s land against colonialism with a high patriotic awareness.
Our insistence on the Women’s Freedom Revolution and the women’s freedom struggle is our insistence on the Zilan line. Living in Zilan style is an act of freedom. It is also a free life. It is the manifesto, roadmap and guide of free living. Personalities, stances and actions that have made history are rare and unique. He is the one who creates the measure and determines the principle. It is our main duty to understand them correctly, to bring them into consciousness and to liven up the values, understanding of freedom and realities they represent, and to walk in their footsteps.
Comrade Zilan, who became historical, became a cornerstone in the development of the ideology of women’s freedom. Therefore, Zilan has become a line, the identity and personality of the resisting Kurdish woman. As the struggle escalated and the resistance deepened, Kurdish women’s indomitable fighter and passion for freedom increased exponentially and reached women of the world from the tops of the mountains. The Kurdish woman, who has been educating and raising awareness in the mountains of Kurdistan for years, takes revenge on cruel masculinity, the forces of capitalist modernity, and leads the construction of a free and socialist life. The Leader’s freedom march, which started 50 years ago in Kurdistan, has now become Middle Eastern and universal. The worldwide response of the leadership paradigm frightens the forces of capitalist civilization. For this, all kinds of support is given to the AKP-MHP fascism in the policy of genocide,
We reiterate the promise that we will crown our struggle with the victory of women’s and peoples’ freedom.
For this reason, in this period when we are welcoming our 50th party anniversary, we are faced with the reality of genocide that has not been encountered at any stage in history. Our struggle for freedom, which has continued for 50 years, has created a great accumulation of struggle that will shake the balances of the world, with the unique resistance of Leader Apo, his innovative style and the Democratic, Ecological, Women’s Libertarian paradigm in which all the gains of the struggle have been systematized. In the face of this truth, which has become a party, gained the power of self-defense and systematized with the perspective of a democratic nation, the enemy is experiencing a great break of will of being repeatedly defeated and defeated, and becomes more and more barbaric. For this, the isolation in Imrali is deepened and Imrali is turned into the center of the war.
As the Kurdistan Free Women’s Party (PAJK), we are determined to turn the 50th Leadership Year, which we welcomed in the spring of 2022 with great enthusiasm and the self-sacrificing spirit of Zilan, to a year of providing physical freedom for Leader Apo by defeating fascism with Zilan’s determination. Just as the Kurdish women who fought in the line of Comrade Zilan’s self-deployed sacrifices broke out in the minds of the enemy and started a new era in 96, and they protected humanity from DAESH fascism, today they will carry the struggle to protect humanity against the fascism of the Turkish Republic, the most murderous regime of male domination, to victory. History has shown once again that historical personalities are the creators of historical actions and representatives of the new free life. As is the case now, Comrade Zilan’s spirit of resistance, determination to struggle and passion for freedom always create such historical ‘moments’. Kurdish women freedom fighters are building the free and democratic mentality of the democratic nation by fighting and resisting on the territory of Kurdistan. The male-dominated system built by the central civilization is now being replaced by a revolutionary struggle under the leadership of a free woman mentality on the basis of democratic modernity.
On this basis, with the determination to turn the 50th year of struggle into a year of victory, once again, in the person of Comrade Zilan, especially our June martyrs, all those who became martyrs by fighting selflessly in the Zagros, the heart of Mesopotamia, the Zagros, the heart of Mesopotamia, Avaşin, Metina and all over Kurdistan.
