URFA (RIHA) – Haci Esvet Şenyaşar and his sons Adil and Celal, who were assassinated on June 14, 2018 in the district of Pirsus in Urfa by the relatives and lawyers of AKP Parlamentstanbul MP Halbrahim Halil Yildiz, were remembered in their graves. The memorial service will be held at the Municipal Cemetery. Şenyaşar’s family, family shop neighbors, Democratic Community Congress (KCD) Co-Chair Berdan turztürk, Democratic Party of the Regions (DBP) Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, HDP Urfa MP Ayşe Surucu, Mothers of Peace, members of the Labor and Democracy Platform, executives HDP and many others attended the commemoration.
Crowds gathered in front of the cemetery for remembrance Police asked to prevent the crowd from entering the cemetery. Police who allowed the family and deputies to enter the cemetery did not allow people to enter the cemetery. Families, representatives and members of civil society organizations reacted to the attitude of the police. Emine Şenyaşar reacted and stated that she would not go to her graves until the crowd entered the cemetery and she would sit in front of the door until the crowd accepted her, and the crowd stood in front of the gate for 30 minutes and were taken to the cemetery. A mass march took place from the entrance of the cemetery to the graves of the murdered families. Emine Şenyaşar mourned for the family members of the murdered. The crowd gathered at the tomb and prayed for those who had lost their lives
‘NOTHING IS DONE BECAUSE THE AKP IS REPRESENTATIVE’
On behalf of the Şenyaşar family, Ferit Şenyaşar spoke about the massacre that took place and the 4-year-long struggle for justice. Şenyaşar, stated that the two senses lived together at the same time and said, “These 3 people were buried in the gas bombs. They have not been forgotten today. Nothing is being done because the AKP’s representative is in it. Millions of people, especially the people of Suruç, came out in our case. We have not done our best for 4 years. We will offer our condolences when justice is done. “Let justice be done immediately.”
‘WE WANT JUSTICE FOR THE WHOLE COUNTRY’
DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz stated that the massacre took place in front of the public and said, “A massacre was committed in front of the eyes of the world. 4 years passed but justice was not done. No steps have been taken in the last 4 years, this shows that there is no justice. The massacre took place at the state hospital. Mother Emine Şenyaşar wants justice for everyone and shows resistance. The mother fights for the whole of Turkey. Justice that has fallen to the ground must be removed. We promise we will be with the family until the end. Democracy cannot be achieved without justice for Şenyaşar’s family. Trade with us to read the Fatiha. Everyone knows this massacre. We will seek justice until the end. ”
Speaking on behalf of the Urfa Labor and Democracy Platform, Salih Karataş, Co-Chair of the Health and Social Services Workers’ Union (SES) Branch, stated that they are with the family and invited everyone to the Justice Vigil which will be held in front of the Urfa courthouse.
The memorial service ended after the wreaths were laid at the cemetery.
