NEWS CENTER – KJK Executive Council Member Zêrîn Rûken spoke to ANF on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Martyr Zîlan (Zeynep Kınacı), who carried out a self-sacrificing action in Dersim in 1996.
KJK Executive Council Member Zêrîn Rûken stated that the Zîlan line is the invincible bodyguard line and started her speech by commemorating the martyrs.
Stating that every martyr of both the women’s freedom struggle and the national freedom struggle is a sacrifice, Rûken expressed the following regarding the fact of martyrdom in June: “Comrade Zeynep Kınacı committed her sacrifice action on June 30, 1996, Comrade Sema Yüce on June 17, 1998, heval Gulan on June 7, 2002. She reached martyrdom. In the person of the martyrs of June, I commemorate our martyrs of freedom and revolution with respect, love and gratitude. Again, with great gratitude, I commemorate all our comrades who fought on the Zîlan line and became martyrs in the Zap resistance, which has been going on since April 17. At the same time, I respectfully commemorate Leyla Van, her friend Helmet-Diyar Xerib and Ferhat Derik, one of the pioneers of the Rojava revolution. We will raise our struggle even more with the assertion and determination to realize the dreams of freedom.
As we commemorate all our martyrs of the revolution who are the successors of this line and who led the resistance in the People’s Revolutionary War in Zap, Avaşîn, Metîna, Zendura, Mamreşo, Garê and Heftanîn today, our promise will be to achieve the women’s revolution and build a free life. Our comrades, who proved that those who resisted won the freedom struggle, became the epitome of loyalty to the Leader. The claim and belief of being determined in success along the lines of our martyrs has become the life stance of women in Kurdistan society. The truth of our thousands of hero-valiant martyrs has formed our party reality. It is the reality of being a martyrs party. If the most concise word about the party is to be said, if a truth is to be sought and a reality to be spoken of, this is the line of martyrs. All other facts are open to interpretation and variable analysis.
The fact that the truth reflects and creates itself as reality has provided the formation of the PAJK, PKK line. The line of martyrs has shaped the identity of the party’s essence, philosophy of life and purpose since the PKK’s exit, the structuring of our Kurdistan Women’s Freedom Movement, and the party’s announcement of the women’s party PAJK. Undoubtedly, this is not spontaneous, it is the creation of our Leader. Each of our martyrs is an oath to integrate with the truth of the Leadership and to achieve the revolution for this cause. In our struggle for freedom, which was carried out under extraordinarily difficult conditions, the pioneering stance of our martyred comrades, who did not recognize any borders or obstacles, paved the way for success even under the most impossible conditions, and brought development and momentum to our struggle. It has prevented errors or deviations in the ideological-political-military line of this party,
Not to give up on the principle, not to give up the line of martyrs
KJK Executive Council Member Zêrîn Rûken pointed out that seeing the reality of martyrs only as the owner of heroic actions is a narrow and shallow approach and continued as follows: Again today, we can see more deeply in the success shown against the war of the genocidal Turkish and occupying forces. While we commemorate our martyrs of June, who created history by marking the period and became a symbol in our struggle by determining the date, we need to understand that the most military-political success comes from ideological clarity. Because our martyrs do not only have military-political actions. They established a principle, they became a principle. Not giving up on the principle is not giving up on the line of martyrs. To be militant along ideological lines, To be a staff is to walk in the line of martyrs and to lead the military-political. And he is always successful.
This is a promise and practice of devotion to martyrs. Our martyrs are the vitalization of the ideological-military-political struggle practice as well as our spiritual-moral ideological values. It is this reality of truth that underlies the saying that martyrs are our living reality. The fact that they belong to history does not mean that they remain in history. Therefore, the approach of commemorating them only when the time comes is an abstraction of our martyrs. Abstraction is an approach to abstract the principles, to cover up the truth, to direct the struggle with our own truth, to determine the party in every subject. Let’s stay away from military-political activities, if there is a non-ideological aspect in comradely relations, if there is a disconnection, if there is a problem of not being together, if there is a great contradiction, distance, contradiction between ideology, life and practice, we need to know that we are moving away from the reality of martyrs.
Leadership Comrade Zîlan symbolized the formation line and principles of PAJK and announced the ideology of women’s liberation. Therefore, the reality of Zîlan is too great to be considered only as a successful military sacrifice action. She is our goddess of freedom. The leadership focused heavily on sacrifice in the style of Zîlan and presented it as the line of freedom and goddess of the ideological identity, willpower and practicality of all women. Today, it is the line of the Zîlans, resisting and succeeding in Zap and Avaşîn.”
Because Comrade Zîlan is now resistance and freedom in Rojhilat.
Zêrîn Rûken, who commemorates Letife Selamet (Zîlan Pepule), who was from Rojhilat and was martyred in Merîwan in June 2006, said, “Martyr Zîlan Pepule is a follower of Zeynep Kınacı. It is the march and line of the zîlans. He carried out his revolutionary duties with that spirit. In Rojhilat Kurdistan, it has turned into a love of freedom. It multiplied under the name Zîlan, and every place, village, city and land of Rojhilat Kurdistan was deeply affected by Zîlan’s resistance. Despite all the torture methods of the fascist Iranian regime, it is the female resistance culture that does not surrender. It is a freedom-loving, rebellious stance. Resisting is the reality of Kurdish women. It is this reality that is resisting the invading forces in all Medya Defense Zones today. It is the line of the zîlans, it is the truth. Because Comrade Zîlaņ is now resistance and freedom in Rojhilat. She is our first YJRK female martyr. Again, war and fighting style is an example for women from Rojhilat. He has been a great source of morale and strength with his guidance for freedom.
I commemorate Martyr Zîlan Pepule with great respect. Martyr Zîlan Pepule became a free woman’s consciousness and will in Rojhilat. They have been a planned, organized, purpose-driven, women’s reality until the end. The patriotic ties of the Rojhilat woman are very strong. We see this deeply in the person of Zîlan Pepule. She was slain while holding a public meeting in Merîwan. Later, his body was dragged around the city to intimidate all the resisting women, our people, and the peoples. The murderous mentality has once again revealed its hostility towards women and Kurds. Martyr Zîlan Pepule, who comes from a patriotic family, is from Urmia. It is a morale in life, a military commander in the military field. She is an organizing woman revolutionary in the construction of democratic modernity in the political and social field. Women’s love is very deep.
While holding meetings in Merîwan, he says, ‘I wonder how many women suffer in this village’. This shows how deep his love of women and freedom is. It is a complete ‘fountain of life’. It is a free butterfly. He lived like a butterfly. He had only been at the party for 7 years. He never gave up on freedom. He resisted to the end. He also invited women from Rojhilat to resist. She made her mark in history with her resistance, she is a comrade who loves freedom and resists.”
The KDP has become a tribe that invests all its strength in the liquidation of the PKK.
Drawing attention to the attacks of the invading Turkish state, Zêrîn Rûken emphasized that the enemy, who could not break the guerrilla resistance, used chemical weapons. Reminding that chemical weapons are a crime according to international law, Rûken continued: “Unfortunately, we do not see the sensitivity of the whole world regarding Ukraine in the context of Kurds and Kurdistan. Despite the use of prohibited weapons, there is a double standard approach. The Ukrainian war is being deliberately prolonged. There is benefit from it. Here we see the deepening of the war against the Kurds. The Turkish state is expanding its occupation areas. The USA is quite silent in the face of the invasion of the European Turkish state. Referring to the aggravated isolation against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Zêrîn Rûken ended his speech with these words: “Leader Apo has been developing absolute isolation for 24 years. I can express the basis of this as the role of the KDP in the conspiracy. Because Rêber Apo is leading the whole of Kurdistan and humanity. Rêber Apo is the Leader of the peoples and women. KDP, on the other hand, cannot even run a family or tribe. The most important issue is the sameness between the Turkish state and the Kurdish people. This is the most dangerous line. For this reason, all Kurds and women should take sides with a national consciousness against this policy, with this historical and freedom resistance of the guerrilla.
