BEHDINAN – The Turkish state’s invasion attacks against Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn continue. People’s Defense Center (HSM) Headquarters Commander Murat Karayılan addressed the guerrilla forces fighting in Zap, Avaşîn and Metina against the invasion attack launched by the Turkish army on 17 April.
Karayılan stated that the guerrillas should never forget that they are waging a historical war, and emphasized that they want to realize the hopes of the martyrs and give the Kurdish people a new victory.
Underlining that especially the guerrillas taking part in the resistances in the tunnel must record the actions, Karayılan said, “Record all the actions. Because the enemy denies and hides the truth from the public. The enemy is afraid of the public. This enemy is a coward not only on the battlefield but also in the political arena. He hides the truth from the people of Turkey. That’s why friends need to record more actions and clashes,” he said.
Expressing that the fate of the AKP-MHP government depends on the war in Medya Defense Zones, Karayılan said that the war will determine the outcome of the elections in Turkey. Emphasizing that the Turkish state, caught in the guerrilla resistance in the Medya Defense Zones, has turned its direction towards Rojava, Karayılan stated that the enemy will face the same resistance in Rojava.

I greet all our comrades with love and respect. I wish you success in the historical resistance. In this holy resistance, I commemorate all the heroic martyrs with respect and bow respectfully before their memories. We will follow our martyrs until the end and we will never leave their flags on the ground.
Our dear martyr comrade Aysel Doğan has a special message for you. Heval Aysel was martyred in Germany due to cancer in May, the month of martyrs. Heval Aysel Doğan was one of our old comrades. He was from the family of Seyit Rıza, one of the leaders of the Dersim resistance. Heval Aysel was a very determined and principled Kurdish woman.
Heval Aysel was known for her determination, strong and radical stance. He takes the picture of Rêber Apo with him at a time close to his martyrdom and reaches martyrdom just like that. His last message before reaching martyrdom is as follows; “I fall victim to the Zap resisters, my heart is with them, I wish them all success and I believe they will achieve victory.” This was his last message. The testament of our esteemed martyr to the Zap insurgents and to those who are currently fighting in all Medya Defense Zones has been a success. As we mentioned before, the hearts of our people and our comrades beat in Zap. This message from Heval Aysel is an indication of this. THE ENEMY WAR UNDERSTAND THAT HE CANNOT MAKE POLITICAL SHOW MATERIALS
Dear comrades; Since April 17, the enemy has started attacks on our movement from Zap. Your historical resistance after the invasion attacks has reached a new stage today. To reach a conclusion, the enemy attacked with all its means to occupy the Zap for 39 days. However, the heroic resistance led by the heval Mizgîn and the Rohats did not allow this and the enemy did not succeed.
The aim of the enemy was to take all the provinces one by one and reach the result in this way. The enemy first wanted to completely occupy the Medya Defense Zones, then Shengal and Rojava. But they got stuck with the resistance in Zap and Avaşîn. Especially in Çiyareş and Kurojahro, they received heavy blows from their friends and suffered great losses. I also commemorate our esteemed comrade Mahir Mazlum, who was martyred in these attacks, with respect. Our comrades carried out attacks against the enemy with the spirit of resistance and inflicted great losses.
The enemy now had to make a new assessment and make some changes in his plan. Because he realized that in the Zap and other parts of the Medya Defense Zones, he would not be able to reach the result as soon as he planned. And he saw that he could not turn the war into a political show. The enemy understood this. Because it seems that he decided on two issues and made new plans.
THEY ARE TARGETING PLACES THAT PLAY A ROLE IN THE RESISTANCE
First; They want to get rid of the blockage they experience from the Zap to the Werxelê line. So they aim to get out of Zap. That’s why they turned their attack to the west of Zap. They want to get rid of the area where they are blocked by expanding the attacks. Therefore, the occupation of Girê Cûdî, Girê FM and Girê Hekarî was included in the plan. This plan was also in the early days of the invasion, but they wanted to occupy Zap first and then attack Metîna in a large way. But since they were not successful in the Zap, they are now targeting the places that played a role in the resistance, not just the places we mentioned and the whole of Metîna. In this way, they aim to get rid of the blockage they experience in Medya Defense Zones and to get results.
The second is; As a result of the current war in Ukraine, a new cyclical, political situation has arisen. The Turkish state, the fascist AKP-MHP government, wants to take advantage of this situation and launch attacks on Rojava. Because the AKP-MHP regime wants to create a war agenda in Turkey, to create a political agenda of its own in the war environment, and thus to hold early elections. This is how they want to maintain their regime. This is their account. They saw that they could not achieve such a goal from the war in the Medya Defense Zones, so they turned to Rojava. But they will get the same answer in Rojava. We hear that movements in Rojava are also preparing themselves for war. We believe that there will not be a second Afrin, a second Serêkaniyê, a second Girê Sipî.
THERE IS GREAT RESISTANCE AT GIRÊ CUDÎ, GIRÊ HEKARI AND GIRÊ FM
The genocidal Turkish state and the AKP-MHP government want to prevent its collapse through hostility towards Kurds. But they won’t be able to do it. They expanded the war even further, in this way they want to get rid of the blockade in the Zap. From 25 May until today, they received heavy blows in Girê Hekarî, Girê FM and Girê Cûdî. I believe they understood from the very beginning that their invasion plan would not work that way. Because they thought of getting rid of the blockage they were experiencing, but on the contrary, they were even more blocked.
On the basis of the revolutionary breakthrough, the Cenga Xabûr ve Martyr Savaş Maraş Revolutionary Initiative began. Cenga Xabûr and Martyr Savaş will accelerate the defeat of the enemy Zap, Metina and Avaşîn with the Maraş Revolutionary Initiative. The biggest indicator of this is the resistance of friends in Girê Hekarî, Girê FM and Girê Cûdî. The ongoing war in these regions shows that the enemy will not be successful in his new plan and will be defeated. Your friends have had many actions in these regions. We congratulate the friends for their actions. Our comrades carry out many meaningful actions with the Apoist spirit. The resistance and struggle of the friends during this period reached a great level. Of course, there are also shortcomings. Everything is not perfect, we know and understand. However, the fighting style and the spirit of resistance shown in the war are the basis of victory.
Our comrades who fight along the lines of Rêber Apo also have a depth in spirit, courage and fighting methods. On this basis, I would like to congratulate once again the actions of our friends in Girê Hekarî. There was a great resistance led by Siyabend, Hêzil, Laşer and Saren. The actions taken are very valuable, all friends took part in these actions and gave their efforts. Congratulations to all. Of course, this resistance was born thanks to these heroic martyrs, and I commemorate these heroes with respect and gratitude. I repeat once again that we owe them. The resistance that takes place there is very valuable on this basis.
Great resistance took place in Girê Cûdî both on 27 May and on 30 May. The resistance on May 27 took place under the leadership of heval Nalîn Firat. We commemorate our esteemed martyr once again with respect and congratulate all our friends who took part in this resistance and worked hard. I hope that the resistance in Girê Hekarî, Girê FM and Girê Cûdî will grow even more. On this basis, we greet all friends and celebrate their resistance and success.
GUERILLA MUST CALL THE ENEMY SOLDIER TO SURVIVE
Dear friends, on the other hand, the resistance in Zap developed even more during this time. We celebrated some actions. The enemy reached the Karker hill only after 45 days of struggle. He was able to get there after great losses. However, our comrades put up a significant resistance to these attempts of the enemy with various actions such as sabotage, traps and attacks. They dealt heavy blows to the enemy. We celebrate the resistance on Karker Hill.
A fierce war has been waged in Shikefta Birîndara since the beginning. The resistance of the comrades there continues. The latest friends shot down a helicopter. Friends did not officially announce that they shot it down, they said that they shot it, but then the helicopter crashed close to Xeregol. For this, I congratulate all the comrades in Shikefta Birîndara. We believe that they will achieve new successes.
Friends in Martyr Şahin, especially in Martyr Berxwedan tunnel, have been taking effective actions in recent days. On the 27th (May 27), the corpses of the enemy were captured. They dealt heavy blows to the enemy. We congratulate all our comrades who took part in this resistance and in Martyr Şahin for their actions and wish them continued success. I hope they will achieve greater success on this front.
Friends reported that the enemy had sent dogs to the tunnels before, but now he wanted to send soldiers. Of course the soldiers don’t want to go. Then 4 soldiers come; 2 of them at the end of the tunnel, 2 of them die by throwing themselves off the cliff.
Dear friends; These soldiers must be summoned. You see, sometimes the soldiers make a call, whereas we have to make a call. Our motivation, our morale, our cause is much higher than theirs. They are fighting for a fascist regime. They came to occupy the lands of Kurdistan, fighting for money. But we are fighting for the freedom of our people, for democracy, for human values. We are fighting for a bright future. Our war is a holy war. That is why our comrades must call on them to “surrender”, they must surrender to the guerrilla. Every soldier who comes into the tunnel must surrender. The Turkish state does not even mention its dead soldiers. So fight against the enemy in every military, ideological and political way.
FRIENDS MUST RECORD ACTIONS
During this period, our war became an even more ideological and political war. The enemy is waging this war to maintain his dominance, to achieve a political result. The fate of the government depends on the war in the Media Defense Zones. Savaş Zap is in Metîna and Avaşîn. In other words, at election time, it is not the election propaganda that determines the outcome, but the result of the war here.
If there is a war in Rojava tomorrow, the outcome of this war will undoubtedly have a greater impact. This is a highly politicized war at its core. People should approach war on this basis. In other words, we must wage war ideologically, culturally, psychologically, militarily. Friends need to use more arguments. For example; record all actions. Because the enemy denies it and hides the truth from the public. The enemy is afraid of public opinion. This enemy is a coward not only on the battlefield but also in the political arena. Turkey is hiding the truth from the people. That’s why friends need to record more actions and conflicts. Most of the actions happen at night, friends may have trouble registering, but they should still record the actions.
Some friends in the tunnel are recording a diary, it goes into history. For example, none of the 9 friends in the war tunnel of the hospital in Werxelê were martyred. But when they came out of the tunnel, we saw that none of our friends wrote a diary. They were asked to write a brochure themselves. They may still be writing. However, they should have been recorded daily. Like friends in Girê Sor and other regions. So saving is important. Because a historical war is being waged. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a martyr. After all, we should not give martyrs in the tunnels anymore. We need to talk about whether he was martyred in the tunnel. It is the history of resistance. For this, everything must be recorded.
THE ENEMY WILL USE MORE CHEMICAL WEAPONS
Dear comrades, there are some things you need to focus on. For example; it seems that the enemy will put more weight on chemical gases. This should be noted. It will close some doors in each tunnel and throw gas through other doors. They will also want to use a pump and get results in this way. Some materials must have arrived for friends. He should use defensive materials well and strengthen the measures. For example, there must be isolated squads, and not everyone should be in a dangerous place. So, you should definitely have defense equipment with you. This is very necessary. Your friends should take these precautions very seriously. They need to be well on that. Everyone should stay on their defensive means. We want to prolong the war, we’ve said that before.
For example, the prolongation of the war created chaos among the enemy. The longer it goes on, the more chaos it will create. That’s why we must use our living materials, our war materials, sparingly. We should approach everything in moderation. We should approach everything in moderation, be disciplined and planned in everything. Protecting your friends is the most important thing. Every friend should take responsibility in this regard, but the commander friend should think and plan all these.
THIS WAR CAN BE WATCHED BY ACTIVE DEFENSE
Defense is certainly not just physical defense. It is both physical defense, collective life and the protection of coexistence. All this requires defense and deepening. The more you deepen the spirit of solidarity within you, the more united you are in structure and command, the less loss you will achieve with greater success. Our aim; to achieve great success with little loss. There were casualties in the conflict in Girê Hekarî. Battles are casualties, but friends need to be careful. Combat losses should also be minimal. The current war can be waged with active defense. In active defense, friends go after the corpses of the enemy. This is a very, very important thing.
Especially in this regard, both Girê FM and YJA Star members in Girê Karker came to the fore. Friends everywhere are playing their part, but in these areas they have emerged even more. For this, we especially greet all members of YJA Star and wish them success. Aggression is necessary in war. We have to hit the enemy effectively and of course attack. However, the attack must be done professionally. What does it mean professionally? So it should not be lost. Attack without making yourself a target. That’s the skill. All that is required of us is mastery here.
Dear friends, you need to protect yourself. In recent days, the war on the basis of active defense has intensified even more. I believe that the effect of this will become more evident in the coming days. This is very effective.
EXIT, DESTROY FAST, DISCOVER
Two things need attention. A; creation of new tactics. In other words, one should act smart, patient, thin, brave and planned. This is important. In any case, it is necessary to pay attention to the tactical methods.
The second issue is; this has two aspects. Development of active defensive warfare. Conducting war with mobile teams on the basis of active defense based on the offensive spirit. We have gained experience from last year. For example, there were many shortcomings in this regard last year. In mobile team battles, friends did not pay as much attention to concealment, they acted openly and became targets. It shouldn’t be like this now. So mobile teams should act very stealthily, as if they were ghosts. Suddenly go out to shoot the enemy and quickly destroy the enemy, disappear. Move like lightning.
ALL TEXT MUST INCLUDE THE WAR
Friends have done some exemplary actions in this regard. This method should be continued. So team warfare must have depth. In this context, the entire Metîna region must be involved in the war. Only Girê Hekarî should not fight. I don’t need to mention the place, but Girê Hakkari needs to be supported. The commander there must be on the move. The same is required for Girê Cûdî, Girê FM and other places. So friends should not watch the hot war.
The same goes for Zap, especially for Avaşîn. There were some actions on the back line in Avaşîn, but it is decreasing. Actions to be developed further. Everyone should play their part in this regard. In fact, the war became the war of all Behdinan. In other words, Heftanîn and Garê are not outside of this. We see those comrades in the same context of resistance. Those friends should also approach and take action in this way. Another point to be considered in this regard is that, as I mentioned above, lessons can be drawn from the experiences of the past in tunnel warfare.
Friends should not get emotional. Strengthen your measures even more. There were some shortcomings in this regard in the Kurojahro region. It looks like there was a delay in the above command. Precautions should still be taken in a timely manner. We understand that the losses there are mainly due to the delay. Since friends know how things are, they should take action at that moment and take precautions. In this sense, there was a historical resistance especially in Martyr Tolhildan. I salute all the resistance fighters and commemorate the heroic martyrs in the person of Çiya Amed and Rojbin Agirî Serhat. We understood why some weaknesses and martyrs were caused. If we develop the right ways and methods, we can continue without loss. I believe all my friends learned a lesson from the shortcomings.
WE MUST LIVE NEW VICTORIES TO OUR PEOPLE
Dear friends, as we mentioned above, there is one thing that all friends should never ever forget: This is a historical war. We want to realize the hopes of our heroic martyrs in this war. We must be the answer to Leader Apo’s hopes. Leader Apo has been patiently resisting for 24 years and his eyes are on us. We must respond to the hope of our people, the hope of the people of the region, the hope of the mothers of Kurdistan. This is our duty. We must stand up and fight for this task, but protect ourselves and our comrades. Don’t make yourself a target. We want to win this war. For this, there must be patience and progress in depth tactics. Everyone should benefit from the tactics currently being used in Avaşîn, Zap and Metîna. So everyone can benefit from it.
If the comrades approach and defend themselves in this way and develop their tactical richness on this basis, we will achieve victory in the Medya Defense Zones under the leadership of the resistance in Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn. For this, friends should approach it very responsibly. Don’t see the enemy as small or big. And each friend should play their part. Embrace your revolutionary responsibilities. True, the commander should be in charge at the first level, but every friend who fights in these areas today is also responsible.
Everyone should show the necessary sacrifice and responsibility in this historical process and make our people feel the joy of a new victory. Our friends are aware of their responsibilities in this regard. They will do their job and be successful.
