QEHREMAN GEWDA
Qehreman Gewda was born in Colemêrg, but grew up in a Turkish city. He belongs to the Gewda tribe, which is known for its proximity to the Kurdistan freedom movement. His family was patriotic and had to leave Kurdistan in the 1990s when the Turkish state wanted to recruit them for its paramilitary village guards and burned down their village. The family later moved to the district town of Silopi, back to the Kurdish areas in northern Kurdistan. Qehreman experienced the oppression of his family and his people at first hand and became involved in the youth movement. Since this activity was not enough for him, he joined the guerrilla in 2013 and thus fulfilled a childhood dream. Even when Qehremans joined the guerrillas, his behavior was characterized by great enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge. He stayed in Garê for three years and, after basic training, completed several advanced training courses in special combat tactics. In 2016 he came to the Zap region and a year later he went to Metîna. There he took part in successful actions against the enemy. In one of these actions he was wounded, but after his recovery he returned to the battlefield with even greater determination. Parallel to his military struggle, he attached great importance to ideological education. After further training, he went back to Metîna as a unit commander in 2021 and made a significant contribution to the success of several attacks on the Turkish invading troops. RAQIP TATWAN
Raqip Tatwan was born in Bedlîs and had to move to Izmir in western Turkey with his family as a small child as a result of Turkey’s depopulation policy. He grew up in a conservative environment and from an early age harbored the desire to fight for freedom with the guerrillas. In 2007 he went to the mountains and stayed in Xakurke for basic training. He developed into a competent fighter and went to the Zagros Mountains. In this difficult area, he took part in various actions at the forefront, which inflicted great losses on the occupying Turkish army. In 2015 he went to Garzan in northern Kurdistan, where he showed his militant personality. After that he stayed in different areas and passed on his experiences to new fighters.
The HPG express their condolences to the relatives of the fallen and to the patriotic people of Kurdistan.
