HPG-BIM said, “Our comrades Destîna and Rojda, who managed to be among the best examples of Apoist militancy in the guerrilla ranks they joined to avenge the massacres developed by the genocidal Turkish state against our people, successfully fulfilled their term duties as pioneering YJA Star commanders. With their martyrdom, we respectfully commemorate these precious comrades who instructed us, their comrades, to raise the struggle even higher, and we reiterate our promise that we will definitely realize the dreams of Free Leadership and Free Kurdistan,” he added.

“Our comrade Destîna, a member of a family originally from Rojhilatê Kurdistan, was born in Gever. The fact that her family and the environment she lived in were patriotic naturally caused our comrade Destîna to grow up with a patriotic culture. Although she studied in schools that the enemy organized especially as assimilation centers, she never accepted the culture of slavery that the enemy tried to impose on our society. Our comrade Destîna, who had a great passion for freedom, was always in search. In the discussions she had with her friends at school, she tried to understand and raise awareness of the situation of our people, thus raising awareness among dozens of her friends about the freedom struggle of our people. In 2014, when the genocide policies against our people wanted to be brought to a conclusion with brutal massacres, she made a radical departure and came to the conclusion that Turkish colonialism could only be dealt with by fighting in the guerrilla ranks. Our comrade Destîna, who joined the guerrilla ranks on this basis, realized day by day what a right decision she had made. She interpreted guerrilla and mountain life as the only places where freedom sprouted; she herself felt freedom in every guerrilla march, in a sip of brewed tea drunk after fatigue, in every drop of sweat flowing from her temples during difficult missions. Our comrade Destîna, whose comradeship was as deep as her intuition, tried to understand and recognize each of her comrades, and in this way she tried to do justice to comradeship, one of the highest values of our Party. Our comrade Destîna, who managed to quickly put into practice what she learned in trainings with her intelligence, managed to become a competent guerrilla in a short time thanks to this feature. She has set the main goal of educating herself in the light of Leader Apo’s philosophy of women’s liberation. Comrade Destîna succeeded in this goal and became a strong commander candidate with the military and ideological training she received. She stayed in this area for a while for the defense of our people in Kirkuk and Maxmur line due to ISIS attacks and after successfully completing her mission, she returned to the free mountains again. He received professional training in order to become competent in Democratic Modernity Guerrillaism, and at the same time, he fulfilled his duty as a comrade by sharing what he learned in the trainings with his friends. Our comrade Destîna, whose face was always turned towards Bakurê Kurdistan in order to put an end to the suffering of our people in the genocide trap as soon as possible, achieved this goal and moved to the Botan area in 2018. As a pioneering YJA Star commander, she fought with great ambition in Botan. She spent every moment with the concentration of defeating the enemy. For this, he participated in the actions organized in Botan and expressed his anger against the enemy with the bullets he fired at the enemy. Our comrade Destîna, who gained the respect of all her comrades with her sincere comradeship, set an example for all of us with her struggle.
Our comrade Rojda was born into a patriotic and tradition-bound family in Cizîr, which has never given up the cause of freedom with their heads held high against the Turkish state’s discourse of “you will either bow your head or give your head”. Raised with this culture and consciousness, our comrade Rojda grew up with dreams of joining the guerrilla. Our comrade Rojda, who witnessed many massacres, witnessed that Kurdish youth, especially Kurdish women, were wanted to be separated from their culture and alienated from themselves. The culture of resistance of the youth of Cizîr brought her closer to our movement day by day. The fact that women actively participated and even took the lead in our fight to protect their existence and ensure their freedom was the biggest reality that attracted the attention of Comrade Rojda. The patriotism and social characteristics of our Botan people, who martyred their most distinguished and valuable sons and daughters in this war, were also engraved in the character of our comrade Rojda. Our comrade Rojda, who set herself the goal of liberating our leadership from physical captivity and avenging our martyrs and holding the enemy to account, set her sights on the free mountains of Kurdistan in 2015. She received her basic education, which is the first step towards realizing her dreams and goals, with great enthusiasm and morale in the Medya Defense Areas. Comrade Rojda, who reassured her comrades with her active, lively and enthusiastic participation, moved to the Zap area after her basic training. She became a qualified guerrilla with the experiences she gained in Zap, which is making history even in this moment we are living in. Our comrade Rojda, who has developed in the harsh geography of Zap, which has been able to hide her own children against the cruel invaders for thousands of years, has captured a strong female command stance by participating in many actions here. She fulfilled her pioneering mission with her altruistic, laborious and natural stance in participation. Our comrade Rojda, who proved herself in the military field with her activism, brought a non-ideological militant to the right consciousness in this war. As she deepened in the Ideology of Women’s Liberation developed by our Leadership with the ideological trainings she received, she got to know herself better and reached her essence. With the paradigm of our leadership, she became a part of the ring of truth together with her comrades by using the creative power of women to make life, which had been distorted and rendered meaningless, livable again. The Botan area is undoubtedly an area where many guerrillas want to wage a struggle. Our comrade Rojda has set one of her biggest goals to be a guerrilla in Botan, where she was born and raised. In 2021, our comrade Rojda, who perfected himself in the style and tactics of Democratic Modernity Guerrillaism, returned as a commander to the sacred Botan lands he left as a fighter. During her stay in Botan, she impressed all her comrades with her courage, sincere comradeship and laborer personality, and successfully fulfilled her leadership role as a YJA Star commander.”
