BEHDÎNAN – Haki Armanc, one of the HPG Central Headquarters Commanders, made important statements to ANF about the current situation in the invasion attacks launched by the Turkish state against Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn since April 14.
Describing the recent guerrilla activities in Fileha village and Hekarî Hill on the Zap, Metîna line, the HPG Commander drew attention to the following points in his speech:
Erdoğan uses all the means of the Turkish state to maintain his dictatorship
The Turkish state’s invasion operation began on April 14 with air strikes, and on April 17 it began on the ground against Zap. Then, on May 25th, it started on the Armenian line with the village of Hekari, called Xeta Fileha.
The Turkish state’s invasion attack on the whole of Bashûr Kurdistan developed within the framework of the Misak-ı Milli plan. Its timing is important. It happened at a time when there was a war between Russia, Ukraine and NATO. The eyes of the world, everyone is there. They took this as an opportunity for themselves. Why is the Turkish state in a hurry? Because elections are approaching. The sovereignty of the Turkish state is becoming ineffective day by day, it is heading towards defeat. As the elections approach, the AKP-MHP government wants to achieve some results and turn this to its advantage. In this context, they have accelerated the operation a bit. If it gets a result, it will say, “Look, I have won” and go to the elections and want to continue its rule. That is why Erdogan, in order to maintain his power, his dictatorship, he is adjusting all the means of the Turkish state in terms of foreign affairs and internal affairs. The Turkish army has also been prepared and put into practice accordingly.
If you pay attention, for some time now the Turkish army has lost its characteristic of being Turkey’s army and has become Erdoğan’s army. He moves it wherever he finds it in his interest, wherever he finds it convenient for his power and career. All operations in Bakurê Kurdistan, Bashûrê Kurdistan and Rojavayê Kurdistan are taking place within this framework. In other words, Erdoğan is spending all the means of the Turkish people and the state so that he can establish and maintain his own power.

Guerrilla actions shake the Turkish army
If we need to say a few words about the Zap operation, it started on April 17th and has continued until now on the ground with long bombardments and landings. There is a very strong resistance against these attacks. Where it has landed, it has not made any progress. True, they have entered some tunnels of our friends, there are still clashes, but the Zap area is generally under the control of our friends. In this sense, the Turkish state has not achieved any results. With many successful actions, my friends became shields and prevented and stopped the operation. Right now the Turkish state is experiencing a blockage. Especially in Kurojahro. It was the 24th of the month (May 24th), the friends developed a very tough attack against the enemy. There were several simultaneous actions. Very successful actions were carried out there in memory of Martyr Mizgîn Rojhilat and the friends who were martyred with him. Strong results were achieved. Many Turkish soldiers were killed and many military equipment was confiscated. On the same day, friends attacked on Cehennem Hill, where the enemy suffered a heavy blow. Under the leadership of Mahir Riha, all enemy elements on the hill were blown up. There, too, friends confiscated many weapons and military equipment. Such actions shook the Turkish army and state. In other words, it created a rupture. It was reflected in the press a little bit, and although they had a lot of casualties, they downplayed it. The psychology it created on their army, on their society was heavy at first.
Turkish state suffers heavy blows in Zap
The next day, on May 25th, it launched an operation in the village of Fileha and the Hekarî Hill west of Zap. In fact, the Turkish state was not prepared for this operation. However, when it suffered heavy blows in Zap and in order to break the heavy impact of the blows they suffered and to change the agenda, it wanted to send the message that even though we have casualties, they are not high and we are extending our operation gradually. That is how that operation started. Possibly it might not have been like that. It was already predicted, so the operation in Zap, as well as in the village of Fileha and the Hekari Hill, was not a surprise. It was for this purpose that they immediately moved west of the Zap after suffering heavy blows in the Zap at Hell Hill and Kurojahro. In other words, they attacked there to disperse this psychology that had formed in the soldiers and reflected on the society.
So far, the operation in the village of Fileha and the Hekari Hill west of the Zap, on the Metîna line, has been given the necessary answers. Friends who are fighting on the front line are already giving their daily reports. They are constantly in the loop, talking to friends.
The excitement among the friends is really memorable and pleasing. Because the friends in the village of Fileha, Hekari Hill and Zap were constantly expecting this. Hundreds of fedayeen in these areas offered to go to the front line and attack the enemy. These were the areas where friends were making their preparations. One could say that it was a trap for the enemy. In other words, the developments so far show that the enemy is having very big problems in the trap they have fallen into. It is true that he has landed in some places. He wants to expand his area of operation. He has settled where he first came from, but it is not possible in these places. Because every day our friends are attacking. With infiltrations, assassination weapons, sabotage and different tactics, dozens of attacks on the tunnels were broken, and the mobile teams were in constant action. This drove the enemy crazy. This is the situation at the moment.
Guerrilla goes over soldier funerals
Let’s draw attention to an action developed by friends on Hekari Hill. It was May 29th. The enemy wanted to approach the hill called Martyr Akif Hill. Friends were watching from a distance. According to the reports of the friends, as far as we followed, the friends did not hit from a distance; they said “let him come”. It even comes, close to them… The friends attack with bombs. There were dozens of enemy casualties. I mean, maybe friends gave a number, but then they are watching. The enemy is holding many funerals. Friends are going over the bodies. Siyabend Kobanê was a fedayeen friend; under his leadership, the enemy was attacked and weapons were raised. That’s how he was martyred. In this way, the enemy was dealt a very heavy blow. The enemy tried to come and settle on the Hekarî Hill line, but they were broken and fled back. In fact, a lot of footage was taken during these actions. Both in the village of Fileha and on Hekarî Hill, there are many images taken by friends during the actions. It still hasn’t made it to the agencies. We believe that they will be published piece by piece. In other words, the enemy’s escape, the psychology of the enemy… In other words, the enemy fled after this attack. He stayed away for 3-4 days and couldn’t even lift his head. After 3-4 days he wanted to come back again, but our friends hit him once more.
They come, they run away
It has been about 12 days; the enemy has just arrived in front of the tunnels and is bombarding them, but to no avail. Now he wants to get results with chemicals. If it has reached some places, this is how it happened. The same thing happened on the hill of Shahid Zamani. When they came, our friends entered between them with bombs and hit them. They fled from there and hid in the back. What is their situation now? They are not at the entrance of their friends’ tunnels. They hid themselves in corners so that their friends would not see them. They want to come to some tunnels and bombard them to neutralize them. But our friends have precautions against this. Anyway, friends are ready 24 hours a day, no matter where they come from. Their enthusiasm and morale are high.
So this is how the war is now. Where the enemy is is far away from the tunnels, in some places where friends are fighting, the enemy wants to be effective with bombardment. Every time they come, the enemy either detonates a trap or throws a bomb in the middle of them; they flee, then come back a day or two later. The initiative on Hekarî Hill is in the hands of the friends. Again, mobile teams carry out actions. My friends carried out actions against them several times and shot them. It is known that our friends shot down an attacking cobra there. Again, according to the update we followed today, friends shot down a Skorsky. The ones that were shot down suffered maybe dozens of blows.
One wonders how an army that has been destroyed in Zap will get out of there.
Our people should know this: the enemy will be broken there! There are signs of this too. The enemy wants to prolong its operation out of fear and anxiety. There have already been many actions. A breakthrough was launched in this region within the framework of the Martyr War Maraş Revolutionary Move. Heval Savaş, it is already known, in the history of our struggle, Martyr Savaş friend has a lot of labor in the construction of fedayeen forces and taking an active position. He gave a lot of labor. He was known as a dervish among us. Wherever asked, wherever sacrifice was required, heval Savaş was involved. He was such a person that he took on the heaviest work in the most difficult place and did it with enthusiasm. It is very meaningful to develop a move, a revolutionary breakthrough in his name. The friends in the Fileha region are also participating in this spirit. Already during the Zap operation, our friends were very active in the war. Many times they hit the enemy’s cobra and skorsky; they did not allow them to pass to Rûbar Hill and Kurojahro. They were always in the war.
Already in the operation after May 25, my friends were actively involved in the war. The visuals of this place have not yet been fully shared. The friends also carried out very successful actions and the action on Martyr Mazlum Hill was the most successful action during this period. The enemy came, there was silence, there was nothing going on, and then our friends entered them like lightning and destroyed the enemy. They removed many weapons and war materials. The enemy suffered a big break there. For how many days the enemy could not recover there. After a few days he wanted to move again. Every time he made a move, our friends hit him. According to today’s report, the enemy once again wants to move closer to the tunnels and fight; the friends shoot them. According to the information we received, 5 invaders were punished again. This is how the friends reported. The device is always on, friends are talking, we are watching. Friends are in the war tunnels with great enthusiasm. The enemy wants to approach the tunnels from the slope of the hill they are holding, but they are trembling. Trembling, he turns towards the friends. When a shell explodes, each of them runs to one side. In other words, one wonders how an army that was devastated in Zap will get out of there.
The Turkish army has suffered a fiasco in the places where it is currently operating
How does the enemy usually do it? First he wants to locate the friends, then he wants to neutralize them with fighter planes, with massive bombardment. He has built his strategy on this. In other words, he wants to come and hold a place, locate the comrades from there and get results with technique. Our friends who were martyred by this method were also mobile. For example, we have no martyrs on Martyr Mazlum Hill. After carrying out a heroic action on the line between Martyr Mazlum and Cûdî Hills, Nalin, Siyabend heval was martyred on Hekarî Hill. Apart from that, we have no martyrdom in the war. So friends are patient; they are waiting, watching. They want the enemy to come even further, to carry out more powerful actions. Our friends are approaching with cold blood.
The situation in Zap, Fileha village and Hekarî Hill is under the control of our friends. The enemy has stopped where they came from. Our friends are following them, and when there is the slightest movement, they strike a blow. There are many dead. Mostly skorsky and cobras cannot take off during the day. At night, they pull them to a secret place and leave. This is the state of the war right now. Of course the enemy will want results. As we mentioned, Erdoğan wants to get results in a short time in order to secure AKP power. But the Turkish army has suffered a fiasco in the places where it is currently operating. It is as if they are in no hurry. This is what it looks like on a daily basis, but they are acting in panic. At first they were in a hurry. Then they withdrew when friends hit them. Now they are bombing using the technique.
Apo fighters are in strong resistance
Of course the enemy is using all its means. Indeed, even if the war in Zap, on the Hekarî Hill and Gundê Fileha line were between two states, they would not be able to fight so hard. This is not very much on the public agenda. It is very striking that the Turkish state, with the support it receives from the international arena and the support it receives from Kurdish traitors in the region, is using all its means against Kurdish fighters. A tunnel entrance on a small hill was bombed hundreds of times. Some hills have changed color. The geography of these hills has changed. Using so many explosives, so many fighter jets, thousands of howitzers, cobras, they hit everywhere. In other words, he is using all the techniques in this operation area. But the moment he lands his soldiers there, the moment he starts walking, he is shot. That’s how war works. Our people should know these facts well. Our people in Bakur and Bashûr already know; airplanes fly over them every day. They see it with their eyes. They should not worry; Kurdistan freedom fighters, Apoist fighters are at the forefront, they are in a strong resistance despite the use of the most advanced techniques against them and they are playing their role. They are enthusiastic and excited.
We are facing an immoral and unprincipled attack
Of course, each of us has a duty. The guerrilla fulfills its duty in the mountains, and approaches responsibly within that framework. Our people must also fulfill their duties. We are facing a huge attack that is immoral and unprincipled. Freedom fighters protect our people and the gains of our people. They sacrifice themselves for this. On this basis, they go and do whatever is asked of them without any hesitation. In this sense, our people should hold their heads high. Sometimes we have martyrdoms. These martyrdoms are for this cause! On the path of honor and dignity. Therefore, our people should know this. Undoubtedly, with all these bombardments and attacks, sometimes we will also have martyrs. But they should not look at the enemy’s statements. Because the enemy always wants to turn the facts upside down with the special war method and psychological warfare. On this basis, he wants to overestimate our losses and underestimate his own losses. This is the reality of the Turkish state. It already exists in its history, but in recent years it has been especially emphasized.
The downed helicopters, the dead soldiers are all documented
Let me give you an example; friends went to the funerals of dozens of soldiers, they took their identities, everything is clear; he doesn’t even mention them. Unfortunately, there is no journalist or intellectual in Turkey who can ask what this is. No one asks where this soldier is. The fascist and genocidal Turkish state has deafened Turkish society in every respect. No one is asking, what is this war, what is happening? So we have these weapons, whose weapons are these? They are all bloody, they have been removed from the enemy. He doesn’t lose even one casualty. Okay, they shouldn’t. There is also the following reality, they are developing a psychological warfare that turns these realities inside out. Our people must be aware of this. I mean, if one doesn’t know the Turkish state very well, one will wonder if it is real. It has landed so many troops, there is an operation; the guerrilla has made preparations in ancient places, places where it has been settled for decades; is it so easy to land these troops here? How many Skorskis and attack helicopters were shot down, how many soldiers were killed, all of this is documented. These things exist, but no one is talking about this agenda. I mean, it is not really written in a newspaper or talked about on TV. This is how the war continues. “I’m successful, I’ll take Zap and say I’ve won,” he says, prolonging the war as long as he can.
The Turkish state is facing defeat
Know very well you won’t take Zap! Freedom fighters won’t give you that road! They are in the trenches in this spirit. Every time you step forward, you will enter the swamp and you will lose! You will not only lose, you will make the Turkish army lose with you.
In other words, the Turkish state, the government is facing defeat. Our people must know this. Other than that, there is nothing to worry about. All the realities of this war are shared on a daily basis. HPG-BIM is already announcing our martyrs. We are in stronger preparation within this framework. Our bigger surprises will also be put into practice. Moreover, friends were expecting such a day with enthusiasm and excitement. That day has also arrived. In this context, we can say that the resistance in Zap, Fileha village and Metîna continues.
