RIHA – The Şenyaşar family, continuing its fight for justice, drew attention to its demand for an independent judiciary and shared the message “Fighting against illegality is the duty of every moral citizen.”
The vigil of justice that the family has launched in front of the Riha courthouse since March 9, 2021 continues today for the 461st consecutive day. Mother Emine Şenyaşar is protesting for justice as her husband and two sons were murdered by the bodyguards and relatives of AKP deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız on June 14, 2018, and until today the perpetrators have not been prosecuted for it. Their son Ferit Şenyaşar who actively supports them in their protest survived the massacre with injuries.
The family, who is holding their vigil at their home in Pirsûs district because of the weekend, shared a message through their account in digital media platforms, stating, “Prosecutors who take an oath of honor and say, ‘I will uphold the law,’ forget their oath when judges and the powerful in position demand that they make unjust decisions. Fighting illegality is the duty of every moral citizen.”
