NEWS CENTER – Answering the call of the freedom movement in Kurdistan, people took the streets and took part in solidarity actions across the world.
LONDON
The Kurdish People’s Assembly of Britain, the Jiyan Women’s Assembly and the Revolutionary Youth Movements of Britain (TCŞ/TekoJIN), together with internationalist and left-socialist organizations, started the action in front of the BBC building in London on the basis of the global call for action on June 11th in London, the capital of the UK, with the slogan “Defend Kurdistan” by international friends from Latin America.
Mark Campbell, a friend of the Kurdistan freedom struggle, the Democratic Power Union and KCDK-E made speeches to the crowd gathered at the BBC.
Elif Sarıcan on behalf of the Kurdish People’s Assembly of Britain, Simon Dubbins from Unite the Union International, one of the pioneers of the Freedom for Öcalan campaign, and Dirk Campbell, father of British YPJ martyr Anna Campbell, also spoke against the occupation and betrayal.
“Defend Kurdistan, Stop Turkey’s War on Kurds” banners, YJA-STAR, YPG, YPJ, Rojava, Freedom for Öcalan flags were carried during the action.
ABYA YALA
In different countries of Latina America (Abya Yala) the people from Ecuador, Mexico and Brasil sent their solidarity to the Kurdish people and the Revolution.
STUTTGART
In Stuttgart hundreds of the youth members of the Kurdish Youth and Internationalists took the streets to condemn the attacks on Kurdistan and call for the defense of the Revolution.
BOLOGNA
In the city of Bologna, Kurdish people and internationalists took part in a demonstration in the center of the city under the call of RiesUp4Rojava. They chanted slogans as “Defend Kurdistan, Stop Turkey’s War on Kurds” and waved flags of PKK.
ZURICH
In Zurich thousand of people took the streets to condemn the attacks on Kurdistan and call for the defense of the Revolution. They chanted slogans as “Long live the guerrillas” and “Defend Kurdistan”
BRUSSELS
Hundreds of Kurdish and Internationalists also gattered in Brussels to press solidarity to the freedom movement in Kurdistan. The crowd chanted slogans such as “Killer Erdogan”, “Terrorist Erdogan”, “Traitor Barzani”, “Long live the Zap resistance”, “Long live the guerrillas” and “Everywhere on the battlefield”.
People came out today to protest the turkish invasion on the mountains, and the complicity of the West in these war crimes. We collected signatures for a petition opposing the fascist invasion of Kurdistan.
The protest went well and was peaceful until the police showed up, and pressured the demonstrators to leave, while also taking our speaker and arresting some of our hevals illegally. No violence was shown to the police or the turkish provocators in the crowd, but yet the police sent in policemen in riot gear. This discrimination against peaceful protesters is unfair and cannot be accepted.
PARIS
Thousands of Kurds and their friends gathered in the Place de la République in Paris, France, under the leadership of the CDK-F / TJK-F, under the slogan “Defend Kurdistan and make a revolution” and attacked the imperialist attacks and policies in Kurdistan. of the Turkish state protested.
Many internationalist organizations also supported the action. Speaking on the Union Communiste Libertaire (UCL), Guillaume Davranche called on all internationalists around the world to stand with the Kurdish people against the state occupation in order to defend the revolution and Kurdistan. Davranche concluded his speech with “Long live the Western Revolution, long live free Kurdistan”. The United Women’s Revolutionary Movement, AvEg-Kon, Association de Soldidarité France-Kurdistan, French Communist Party (PCF), Young Struggle, Jeune Garde Paris, TJK and organizations and parties like them took part in the action with their flags.
Afterwards, the crowd marched from Republic Square to Bastille Square with slogans, songs and applause.
There was a lot of interest for the march. Leaflets were distributed during the march and signatures were collected for removing the PKK from the banned lists. The French were very interested in the signature collection campaign.
MARSEILLE
In the city of Marseilles, 13 thousand people condemned the attacks and betrayals with the participation of many institutions and organizations, especially Solidaire Kurdistan. Crowds gathered in Canabiere Square at 13:00 and chanted slogans such as “Protect Kurdistan, do not allow occupation”, “TC uses chemical weapons, Europe looks after its own interests” and “Let the PKK be removed from the terror list”. raised PKK and TJK-F flags.
The crowd chanted slogans such as “Killer Erdogan”, “Terrorist Erdogan”, “Traitor Barzani”, “Long live the Zap resistance”, “Long live the guerrillas” and “Everywhere on the battlefield”. Thousands were distributed at the event. The action turned into a rally in front of the governor of Marseille.
Here after the speech speeches were made and attention was drawn to the occupation attacks and the betrayal of the PDK. The rally ended with slogans.
RENNES
The French city of Rennes also protested the occupiers’ attacks and the PDK’s betrayal. Many Kurds and their friends gathered in Charles de Gaulles Square with the slogans “Defend Kurdistan, Defend Revolution”. The Kurds made statements to the press and always chanted slogans such as “Long live international support”, “Unite against fascism”, “We are all PKK”, “Killer Erdogan, PDK collaborator” and “Women live free”.
It was stated in the speeches that the Turkish state, with the betrayal of the PDK, wanted to deepen the mental, cultural and physical genocide in the four parts of Kurdistan, but in the face of the Kurdish liberation movement and the resistance of the Kurdish people, it collapsed once again.
It has been repeatedly stated that all Kurds and friendly peoples must be active and resilient in all areas at all times in the face of the difficult war process.
Representatives of the Kurdish Friendship Association (AKB), the Union of Liberal Communists (YÇK) and Solidarity who attended the event read messages of support. It was stated that the defense of Kurdistan and the defense of the Western Revolution is a human duty and responsibility in the face of Erdogan’s fascist attacks and the increasing occupier attacks on the Middle East.
