NEWS CENTER – TekoJIN announces its 2nd Young Women’s Congress on June 11 at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. In this regard, the young militant women’s movement expressed itself as follows:
“Organizing means true friendship
Organizing means cohesion
Organizing means hope!”
We as, revolutionary Kurdish young women movement in Europe organize our congress under the slogan: “To have the courage to dream means to have the courage to be free!”
Because in Europe there are different tactics to suffocate young women with problems and pessimism and to take us away from the most important agenda: the situation of the women of the world and the situation of the revolution of Kurdistan! But we do not accept this! We cannot close our eyes to the brutal occupation attacks of the fascist Turkish state. Our dream of a life, the liberated Kurdistan and the freedom of Rêber APO is more alive than ever. The resistance of the guerrillas on the mountains shows us daily that we can only be free by fighting. The current attacks on all areas of Kurdistan make it our duty to resist. Because the values of the women’s revolution are in danger. The Freedom Guerrilla defends Kurdistan and the dignity of the people, the Freedom Guerrilla fights for their dreams of a free Kurdistan. They defend themselves against bombing, poison gas and ground attacks! It is the women fighters who are the greatest example of the iron will of women. We young Kurdish and internationalist women in Europe must also become an answer to this final struggle! We have to resist against colonialism and the enslavement of women and peoples and rape! And this can only be done together, for this we have to organize! The patriarchal system has no justification and is not endless, on the contrary, it is falling!
Therefore we invite all young women to participate in our congress. We will discuss the current political situation, our networking and organizing in the last two years. Together we will work out how we can fight much more actively against patriarchy in the future. For this, every opinion counts – including yours! We salute the heroic resistance on Imrali, and the one in the mountains of Kurdistan!
Bijî Berxwedana Gerîla!
Bijî Serok APO!
Let’s go to the struggle for freedom!”
Have the courage to live your dreams be a true fighter of freedom
Interview with activist Asmin from TekoJIN about tomorrow’s young women’s congress
The TekoJIN activist Rosa Atak gave a small Interview to are News agency and gave some insights in the preparation for the congress:
1. Why does the 2. TekoJIN congress, in such a historical time of resistance, take place?
Right now we are in an extraordinary and brutal war-phase. The outcome of this phase will decide over the future, the question of existing or not existing. In a phase where the enemy puts the most inhuman isolation politic on Rêber APO and the guerrilla is resisting on the highest level against the NATO forces, it is us, the people that need do break the isolation and bring the resistance of the guerrilla to all the places of this earth. We, the young kurdish and internationalist women in Europe can only play our role if we really develop a strong hevaltî with each other and develop our own organised voice.
2. With which expectations and goals do you join the congress?
This congress needs to be our answer to the current war. We expect all young welatparêz women in Europe, those that are already organised and those that want to be, to join the congress and bring in your ideas and colour. In this congress we will discuss and analyse the actual political situation, the problems and struggles of young women and according to that, we will develop a plan for the next two years. We want to become a collective force against the war and the freedom movement. By getting together to built up an organised unity, we will give the strongest revenge to the patriarchy that wants to isolate and individualize us from each other. The resistance starts by really getting to know our selves, the identity that the enemy wants to completely distinguish. And the resistance goes on with the actual defence of this identity on all kinds of levels. With this congress I want to understand the current situation better. I want to find answers on the question, what can we do?!
3. The parole of the congress is: “Having the courage to dream, means having the courage for freedom”, what are your dreams?
My biggest dream is for every young women to really know herself, because whoever knows themselves, their roots and their essence will be ready to also defend this if nessesary. If its a woman in Europe or the forests of Kurdistan who are being attacked – it is our existence that is being attacked there. The more young women realize this, the more will decide to also get into a position of fighting and this is what creates freedom within us.
