MUNICH – The mobilizations against the G7 summit are in full swing. For this reason, actions were carried out in various cities directed against militarization and profit from the production of war weapons and equipment.
MESSAGE TO WAR PROFITEER KRAUSS-MAFFEI WEGEMANN
A group of anti-militarists informed the public in Munich about the war profiteer Krauss-Maffei Wegemann by putting up a large lettering in the Allach S-Bahn station (directly next to the Krauss-Maffei Wegemann plant).
The group announced their action as follows:
“In the week of the G7 summit, where imperialists and capitalists are negotiating their deals, a message was left for war profiteer Krauss-Maffei Wegmann.
In the week of the G7 summit, where imperialists and capitalists are negotiating their deals, a message was left for war profiteer Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. In the Allach S-Bahn station, which is right next to the Krauss-Maffei Wegmann plant and which hundreds of workers walk past every day, we showed what KMW really does: profit with war! With their tanks and other war equipment, KMW’s top managers made 87 million euros in profit in 2018 alone – profit generated from war, murder and exploitation. For these war profiteers, only their profit is in the foreground, never the working population. In this way, they benefit from the imperialist wars in which NATO, among others, also participates. The German government puts 100 billion into rearmament, from which KMW will also make significant profits. Here you can see how the military, government and defense industry play a joint game of profit at the expense of the working class worldwide.
We have shown once again: The main enemy is in your own country! And we will continue to fight this – now for the G7, but also for the rest of the year!
Fight G7, we meet imperialism here!
Take part in the G7 demonstrations in Munich this Saturday, June 25th. and in Garmisch on Sunday, June 26th.
Down with imperialism! Cheers to international solidarity!”
MTU ARMAMENTS GROUP MARKED
Another anti-war campaign took place in the capital of the state of Bavaria, Germany. This action also took place as part of the mobilization against the G7 summit. During the campaign, the armaments company MTU was marked with the words “attack wartime profiteers”. In front of the headquarters of the armaments group MTU near Munich, an aircraft engine is on display in a glass case, which the group has provided with the named lettering.
The group has announced their action to the public as follows:
“On the occasion of the G7 summit, the armaments company MTU was tagged. The war profiteer MTU exhibited an aircraft engine in a glass case in front of the company headquarters near Munich. We have provided this with the lettering “Attack War Profiteers”. On its website, MTU describes itself as a “technology leader for innovative drives.” The glass case is intended to make this clearly visible from the road. We have made it clear what MTU actually stands for as a “system partner of the German Armed Forces”. The technology produced by MTU is in fighter jets and armed drones that are responsible for the deaths of countless people in wars around the world. These wars, from which companies like MTU benefit significantly,
So MTU benefits from the imperialist wars waged by those in power. The new Eurojet, which MTU is helping to develop and produce, is being financed with the 100 billion that the federal government has squandered for rearmament. They are also involved in the development of unmanned drones and thus benefit from the fact that the Greens have broken another campaign promise.
Munich is a popular location for many of these corporations. MTU is fence to fence with MAN, which also produces war equipment and with whom forced labor was shared during the Second World War.
The action was intended to make it clear that the main enemy is in their own country.
Even if a huge contingent of cops from all over Germany is already trying to set up a threatening backdrop around the summit, they cannot intimidate us and they cannot prevent us from carrying out self-determined actions.
For us, Fight G7 applies, we meet imperialism here.
Take part in the demonstrations in Munich and Garmisch.
Down with imperialism!
Cheers to international solidarity!”
