Has the internationalist initiative “Make Rojava Green Again” put together a video of the festival by reflecting the festival in an artistic way.
During the festival, the spokeswomen of the festival said:
“Our struggles are connected because whether it is about the humanity issues of the climate crisis or about the oppression by fascist nation states or patriarchy we have the same goal. In order to find a solidary and emancipatory response to these threats everything has to change and we have to rebuild our societies. The movements needed for this are driven by the youth whose future is threatened on an increasingly hot and authoritarian planet.”
Another spokeswoman said:
“We are dealing with a systemic problem that is prevalent worldwide. So it has a great importance that we come together here from our different struggles, from different countries. Because the solution must also be a common internationalist solution. We want to connect the revolution in Kurdistan, which gives many of us hope for a different life, with the struggles of the climate justice movement here and worldwide, because we are convinced that these struggles share the same goals. Today we want to get to know each other and our struggles better. To exchange and strengthen ourselves to fight together for a different world.”
One spokeswoman for the young militant women said:
“Zap is not alone, Metîna is not alone and Avaşin is not alone. Their revolution is our revolution and we are ready to keep coming, to keep fighting until we realize our dream of a free life. It is precisely our being organized as young women, as a dynamic part of society, that is the strongest death blow against patriarchy. From this internationalist youth festival, we raise our voices with united strength for the great resistance in the mountains of Kurdistan. We salute all the martyrs of the revolution and promise them An Serkeftin, An Serkeftin!”
