SOUTH AFRICA – The youth delegation in South Africa will continue. After two reports, there is now another report from the youth delegation, which travels through several cities in South Africa as part of its assignment from the Diplomacy Committee of the Kurdistan Youth, organizes events and workshops on Rojava and Kurdistan’s freedom struggle, gets to know local civil society institutions, organizations and associations and spread the common struggle of Kurdistan and South Africa in a lively exchange.
At a seminar on Kurdistan’s struggle for freedom, in which the delegates discussed the similarities and differences in communal organization in South Africa and Kurdistan with around 150 workers, activists and students, it was followed with great attention and stimulating discussions arose.
The focus of the discussions was the development of alternative organizational models to the state system and the role of youth in revolutionary processes. The importance of international cooperation was emphasized and ways to create links between the societies of South Africa and Kurdistan were discussed.
The next stop on the delegation’s itinerary is KwaZulu-Natal, where the committee will meet the country’s largest social movement, Abahlahli BaseMjondolo, to learn more about community organizing in the townships.
