ENGLAND

Kurds and their friends gathered in the city center of London, the capital of England, and after a minute of silence in memory of all Kurdistan’s revolutionary martyrs, started the second day’s march. Some young people stood out in the march wearing traditional Kurdish clothes, while others raised their shoes in the air and chanted “Biji gerîla” and “Biji Serok Apo”, symbolizing the guerrilla.

Young people also carried PYD, YPG and YPJ flags during the march. The demonstration protested the genocide against the Kurdish people and called on the international community for sensitivity. The long march of the youth will continue on June 1, the “international mobilization day”. The third day march will start at 11:00 am at Highbury Garden, Islington, N1 2LF.

GERMANY

Two days into the Long March, the young people marched again today around 12.00 pm at the central train station in Duisburg. As on the first day, the long march started with a moment of silence.

At the beginning of the march, the police had the posters of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the flags of the Turkish Republic and the logo on the banner covered. The protesters held banners reading “Li dijî îxanet û dagirkeriyê Werin Cenga Azadîyê” and “Defend Kurdistan” and frequently chanted “Bijî berxwedana gerîla”, “Bê serok jîyan nabe”, “Bimre îxanet”.

SWITZERLAND

The Swiss branch of the long marches started in 6 centers within the scope of the “Werin Cenga Azadiyê” movement, led by the youth movements Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer (TekoJIN), started on the 2nd day in Biel, Switzerland. The young people who started their march with a press statement in Solothurn yesterday had completed the first day of their march in Grenchen.

The young people who started their march in Biel today came together at Zentralplatz in Biel in the morning. The march started with a minute of silence for those martyred in the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle. The youth made a statement here. Activist Andrea Weiter read the statement on behalf of TCŞ and TekoJIN. In the statement they condemned the use of chemicals by the occupying Turkish state in collaboration with the KDP against the Kurdistan guerrillas. The statement read: “The massacring Turkish state and its partners and the KDP administration, which continues to insist on its crimes against humanity by using chemical weapons, should know this very well:

If the PKK guerrillas, who continue their resistance against the inhumane attack concept in all 4 corners of Kurdistan today, do not step back from this struggle, the duty of us Kurdish youth will be to protect the struggle of the guerrillas. And again, Kurdish youth will be the voice of the PKK guerrillas by embracing this struggle wherever they are today and continuing to be in the fields against the occupying forces and their partners. We will crown the “Werin Cenga Azadî” move against occupation and betrayal with victory and defeat the concept of occupation and betrayal.”

In the continuation of the statement, it was pointed out that the dirty negotiations between NATO and the Turkish state on the future of the Kurdish people and Kurdistan continued through the membership of Sweden and Finland to NATO: “We will continue to be in the fields against the destruction of the Kurdish people and the future of Kurdistan through dirty negotiations. Today, just as the young men and women of the Kurdish people resist against all kinds of inhuman attack concepts by embracing the freedom paradigm of our Leadership, we will embrace this resistance based on the resistance line of Leader APO.”

During the march, where morale was quite high, the young people who embraced the guerrilla struggle protested the attack concept of the occupying Turkish state and its partners with the slogans they chanted in the city center. Wearing aprons with the inscription “Warin Cenga Azadi” and white overalls to protest the use of chemicals, the youth collected signatures along the way to remove the PKK from the list of banned organizations. Also during the march, leaflets were distributed by TekoJIN and TCŞ activists.

GREECE

Youth movements Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer (TekoJIN) started a long march on May 30th in Lavrio camp against the occupation attacks and KDP’s complicity. The activists, who completed the march in Marco Paulo in the evening of the same day, set out for Palania on the second day.

As on the previous day, the march started with a moment of silence. The protesters held banners reading “Li dijî îxanet û dagirkeriyê Werin Cenga Azadîyê” and “Defend Kurdistan” and frequently chanted “Bijî berxwedana gerîla”, “Bê serok jîyan nabe”, “Bimre îxanet”. The protesters plan to arrive in Palania in the evening and will reach the capital Athens on June 1st.
