BEHDÎNAN – In a written statement on the occasion of the month of martyrs in May, the PKK Executive Committee said that there are still new martyrs to the war fronts and called on all people, especially the Kurdish youth, to “understand these brave commanders correctly, embrace them strongly and implement the revolutionary people’s war march under their spiritual command.” Further, they call for joining the victory march and developing resistance on the ground.
The PKK statement said:
“As the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the Kurdish people, we are entering the 46th of May the month of the fallen with the historical resistance of our heroic guerrilla forces in Zap and Avaşîn. We continue to give new casualties on the war fronts. The bravest daughters and sons of the Kurdish people are fighting heroically against the fascist genocidal enemy throughout Kurdistan, especially Zap and Avaşîn. The moment has come when AKP-MHP fascism collapses and Imrali isolation and torture system collapses. On this basis, we greet and wish success to all those who are fighting for a “free Kurdistan and a democratic Turkey”. In the person of comrade Agir and comrade Şaristan, we remember the heroic martyrs of the Zap and Avaşîn resistance with respect and gratitude.
It is very clear that AKP-MHP fascism has directed its fascist gangs against our movement and people regardless of Ramadan, fasting, hunger and thirst and launched a new planned invasion attack against Zap and Avaşîn on April 17. Many powers, especially the US and the KDP, did not hesitate to support this genocidal invasion attack. They consider it permissible to shed the blood of young people in order to make more money from oil and natural gas smuggling. Now they are carrying out the above mentioned brutal invasion attack without observing holidays and prayers. They are trying to poison the Kurds and the peoples of Turkey with the holiday that should be celebrated with enthusiasm. This is the only way for the power to prolong their lives and like a vampire, they have linked their lives to sucking blood.
Dema Azadiyê will surely lead our attack to victory
But this should be known; Neither vampires nor a cruel Dehak can save AKP-MHP fascism anymore. The Kurdish guerrillas and their people will make this colonialist-genocidal mentality and policy a thing of the past by resisting in the footsteps of the heroic martyrs and with the spirit of apoist self-sacrifice and by receiving the support of all revolutionary-democratic forces. During the Month of the Fallen in May, they will definitely destroy AKP-MHP fascism by training and arming themselves in the line of the fallen and making every day a day of heroic epics under the leadership of Zap and Avaşîn resistances. By making every day the fiftieth anniversary of the birth of the Apoists on Newroz and every area into an area of resistance, Dem Dema Azadiye aiming at the physical freedom of Rêber Apo will surely lead our attack to victory.
It is necessary to fight on the line of Karasungur.
Undoubtedly, they will do so with the strength they draw from the memory of our heroic martyrs, of whom there are dozens every day in May. Indeed, the entry into May is glorious because of 01 May. May 02 is the 39th anniversary of the martyrdom of Comrade Mehmet Karasungur, who was a member of the first Central Committee of the PKK and served as the first commander, and Comrade İbrahim Bilgin, our valuable activist in the party, in Qandil. Again, it is the sixth anniversary of the martyrdom of our area commanders Azad Siser and Çekdar Amed. First of all, on the anniversary of their martyrdom, we remember comrades Mehmet Karasungur, İbrahim Bilgin, Azat Siser and Çekdar Amed with respect, love and gratitude; We repeat our promise to achieve their goals and keep their memories alive. We call upon all our people, especially the Kurdish youth, to understand these brave commanders correctly and to develop our revolutionary people’s war train on the victory line wherever they are, under their moral command!
Let us not forget that Comrade Mehmet Karasungur was the immortal commander of the historical Hilvan and Siverek Resistance. The later history with its successes and failures developed on the basis of the rich lessons of the Hilvan and Siverek resistance. If there had been no resistance in Hilvan and Siverek, the PKK would not have existed and today’s free Kurdistan would not have emerged. The revolution of the democratic nation, the revolution of women’s liberation, guerrilla and people’s organization would not have taken place.
Again, Comrade Mehmet Karasungur together with the immortal guerrilla commander Comrade Mahsum Korkmaz made practical guerrilla preparations in Rojhilat (East) and Başur (South) areas. He fell as a Şehid while working with Comrade İbrahim Bilgin to create Kurdish national unity. If the practical preparations in question had not existed, the breakthrough of the guerrillas on August 15 and the forty-year development of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla would not have happened.
Today, the consequences of not achieving the national unity that Comrade Karasungur wanted so much and for which he made great efforts are obvious. The historical consequences of collaboration and betrayal that have been plundering on the Kurdish national existence for centuries like a sucking poisonous wolf and until today we see what they are doing. In this case, it is necessary to make efforts like Karasungur to fight against collaboration and betrayal along the line of Karasungur and to create a Kurdish national unity along the line of freedom.
Comrades Azad and Çekdar lead our day with their actions.
It must never be forgotten that the area commanders in Amed Azad Siser and comrade Çekdar Amed , on whose sixth anniversary of falling we are , are the commanders who showed the first great resistance against the annihilation attack directed by AKP-MHP fascism on the basis of the “Action Plan Precipitation” and on this basis they show us the way today. If there was no heroic resistance in and outside Amed then, there would be no heroic resistance against AKP-MHP fascism in Zap and Avaşîn today. This means that comrades Azad and Çekdar lead our day with their actions and enlighten us as a movement and a people. We call on all our Ameders, especially the youth and women, to understand these heroic commanders correctly, to accept them firmly and to go towards the historical victory resistance!
The struggle that has developed under the leadership of Deniz, Mahir and İbrahim continues in the guerrilla. Our patriotic people and the peoples of Turkey!
Next 06 May marks the fiftieth anniversary of the martyrdom of revolutionary leaders Deniz Gezmiş, Yusuf Aslan and Hüseyin İnan, who were executed by the fascist government in Ankara-Mamak on 12 March. First of all, we commemorate these three revolutionaries, Deniz Gezmiş, Yusuf Aslan and Hüseyin İnan, who are symbols of revolutionary faith, will and courage, with respect and gratitude on their fiftieth anniversary and reaffirm our pledge to achieve their goals. We dedicate the victory of the great guerrilla resistance that we led in Zap and Avaşîn to these guerrilla vanguards of Turkey and Kurdistan.
It is common knowledge that Turkey was at a historic turning point fifty years ago and this great struggle, which continues to this day and is now nearing its end, began then. Those who wanted to turn Turkey into a military fascist dictatorship on the basis of the March 12, 1971 military coup unveiled the current fascist genocidal AKP-MHP dictatorship. Under the leadership of Deniz Gezmiş, Mahir Çayan and İbrahim Kaypakkaya, those who wanted to create a democratic Turkey created today’s guerrilla and popular resistance, the triumph of the United Revolution Movement, on the basis of their heroic resistance. On this basis, a historical test of power is taking place and the fascist-genocidal mentality and politics in the person of AKP-MHP is being thrown on the garbage heap of history in Kurdistan.
The memories of our heroic martyrs are the forerunners of our struggle for freedom!
So the last fifty years have not been a waste. So, the spark that Deniz, Yusuf and Hüseyin ignited did not go out; On the contrary, by becoming a revolutionary flame and in the hands of the guerrillas who are the sword of freedom and justice, it became the force that defeats all oppressors. Now this force is making history with the resistance of Zap and Avaşin, and Deniz Gezmiş, Yusuf Aslan and Hüseyin İnan, who first ignited this flame fifty years ago, are also living in this historical resistance. The Apoist Movement, which took over this flag of resistance fifty years ago, is today working together with all revolutionary and democratic forces of Turkey and under the banner of the HBDH for the creation of a Free Kurdistan and a democratic Turkey.
On this basis, we once again commemorate with respect the pioneers of the Turkish revolution, Deniz Gezmiş, Yusuf Aslan and Hüseyin İnan and call upon the democratic and revolutionary forces, The workers, the labourers, women and youth in Turkey to understand the revolutionary resistance that started fifty years ago, to stand up to our heroic martyrs in the person of Deniz, Yusuf and Hüseyin in this historical process, against the attackers of the fascist AKP-MHP, which is trying to occupy the whole Kurdistan in all areas of Turkey to strengthen the anti-fascist resistance and to end the fascism of the AKP-MHP.
In the Month of the Fallen May we remember all our heroic fallen with respect and gratitude! The memories of our heroic fallen are the vanguards of our struggle for freedom!”
