CENTRAL NEWS – As the workers day is commemorated across the globe, the people are taking to the streets to protest against the capitalist modernity system and its crisis. Especially under a conjuncture of destruction of the nature, a profound global economic crisis and the growing up of military conflicts, it’s clear that revolutionary struggles are a necessity of our reality. We will update this news as combative protests occur worldwide:
TURKEY
Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reporter Dogan Kaynak and Jinnews reporter Rozerîn Gultekîn, who were following the march, were arrested along with the workers. KURDISTAN
Kurdish workers linked to the HDP party also demonstrated in the capital of Kurdista, in Amed (Diyarbakir)
The 1 May rally held in Van continues with all its enthusiasm. KESK VQA Member Şenol Köksal and HDP Van Deputy Sezai Temelli spoke at the rally.
Unions, non-governmental organizations, political parties and hundreds of citizens gathered on Art Street in Dersim celebrated May 1 by walking to Seyit Rıza Square.
The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) Workers’ Union held a celebration with the slogan “We salute the people’s resistance with the May Day struggle” in the Assyrian Square in Hesekê’s Nasira District. Hundreds of people attended the celebration.
Despite pressure and threats from security centres, teachers and retirees in the cities of Iran and eastern Kurdistan took to the streets today, and workers from other classes participated in teachers’ protests. In particular, protests took place in Sina, Mariwan, Kermanshah and Tehran.
People gathered in The City of Sina on Ekbatan Street in front of the Organization of Education and God. In other places, they gathered with a considerable account. A security space and an additional police and different forces were in power. Again, people raised their voices with effective slogans, teacher Etihad, against the policy of the Invading State of Iran and demanded their basic right to live.
FRANCE
Thousands of people took the streets to protest against the capitalist system and commemorate the First of May, there are classes with the police ongoing in the streets of Paris.
In Lyon, thousands of antifascists, socialists, anarchists, feminists took place in the demonstration at the city.
KURDS IN FRANCE
The Kurdish people participated in mass in the protests across France on this May First, as they celebrated the commemoration of the day and remembering the struggle of the PKK!
In the city of Rennes, the Kurds, led by the Amara People’s Assembly, met with the workers in Blosne square. Signatures were also collected for the PKK to be removed from the list of “terrorist organizations” during the May Day action.
In the city of Montpellier, he marched the protesters gathered in Peyrou Park to Comedie Square. While the Kurds chanted slogans drawing attention to the invasion attacks, leaflets were distributed.
Similarly, Kurds took their place in the march in the city of Bordeaux. Signatures were collected for the PKK to be removed from the list of “terrorist organizations;”
The largest 1 May screening in the country was between République and Nation. Tens of thousands of workers and laborers came together at the call of the CGT, FSU, UNEF, UNSA, Solidaires unions. The first guests of May 1, which took place in the République square, were Kurdistanis and components of the European Democratic Power Union. The people of Kurdistan, who came together in the square at the call of TJK-F / CDK-F, carried the flags of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, as well as YPJ-YPG and PKK flags.
A thousand greetings from Athens to the comrades who took the streets, resisted and fought against fascism in Taksim! “We are seizing the 1st of May areas with the fire of resistance from the mountains and cities!”
ITALY
Across the country hundreds of thousands took the streets to protest on the May First, in Torino the police blocked the pass for the demonstration and clashes broke out.
GERMANY
The DGB demo for #1Mai in Frankfurt is on the way, with a large anti-capitalist & anti-militarist block and many Turkish & Kurdish comrades against the occupation of Kurdistan.
In Berlin the Revolutionary May Day demonstration has started at Hertzbergplatz, there was also a protest with bicycles to protest for ecological struggle.
SWITZERLAND
In the tradition of 01 May, protester came together and demonstrated through the city of St. Gallen, calling for resistance against capitalist exploitation and oppression. The front banner drew attention to the current crisis and made it clear that the crisis is based on the wrong system. They stated that capitalism is not based on a free life and that a free life can be achieved through resistance and struggle.
INDIA
“The joint labour struggle in Bangalore today is inspirational and gives hope in these bleak times. Our comrades are highly politicised and speak against the rising communal polarisation, the economic crisis, and the pervasive casteism and patriarchy prevalent in our society. Just as they lent support to the struggles of Farmers against the unconstitutional farm laws, so too, our comrades call out for popular support to their demand to repeal the anti-people Labour Codes.”
The Youth took the streets of Bilbao to demonstrate against the capitalist system in the Basque Country!
AUSTRIA
In Vienna, during the anti-capitalist demonstration of May Day, antifascists dropped a flag in solidarity with the PKK and the Revolutionary Struggle in Kurdistan at the building of Cultural center in Vienna!
BRAZIL
During the demonstration of May Day at Belo Horizonte, on the MST art and cultural festival, people showed a pankart in solidarity to the guerrillas!
Also in Belo Horizonte, thousands of people took the streets against the capitalist system and the fascist regime of Bolsonaro
URUGUAY
In the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo, hundreds of thousands of people took the streets to celebrate the May First and condemn the neo-liberal FMI policies in the country!
CHILE
In Santiago, capital of Chile, hundreds of thousands took to the streets on this May First. Not only to celebrate the date but also to protest in favour of the new constitution that is being develop after 2 year of massive protest. During the demonstration, fascists armed with pistols fired into the crowd and injured 5 people, they were protected by the police that didn’t made any arest.
CUBA
During the traditional parade of May First in Havana, a million persons took the streets to remember the date and celebrate the Cuban Revolution.
ARGENTINE
In the famous Placa de Mayo in Buenos Aires, thousands of people took the streets against the capitalist modernity and in favour of a socialist society. The protest was marked by slogans and banners against the FMI policies.
MEXMUR REFUGEE CAMP
A large demonstration was held in Maxmur on May 1, at which time the people of Maxmur gave their message and stated that they would never forgive the PDK for its betrayal. Today in Maxmur, the workers of the Maxmur Camp dismantled a convoy of cars and trucks on May 1.
