BEHDÎNAN – The Executive Council of the KCK issued a written statement today by remembering the anniversary of the killing of the first martyr of the then Apocî youth group and in memory of the martyrs of May, the month of martyrs.
The KCK statement said:
“May is a month in which the leading cadres of the Kurdish freedom revolution, the socialist movement of Turkey and the Arab people became martyrs. The common values of the peoples of the Middle East came together in May. In this respect, the martyrs of May express the internationalism and fraternity of the peoples, their common struggle and the utopia of living together. With this feeling, we commemorate the martyrs of May in the person of Haki Karer, Ferhat Kurtay and İbrahim Kaypakaya and all the martyrs of the revolution and democracy in their person. We declare that we will surely fulfill the promise made to the martyrs by defeating the fascist enemy and building the common and fraternal life of the peoples of the Middle East on the basis of a democratic nation.
We must intensify the struggle against the fascist Turkish state and its collaborators.
In May 1997, dozens of our Hevals were brutally murdered by the KDP. We remember all the martyrs of Hewler in the person of comrade Ozan and Helin with respect, love and gratitude. KDP is still playing the role of collaborator and traitor today. Hundreds of our Hevals became martyrs because of the intelligence information given by the KDP to the Turkish Republic. On the occasion of the month of May, we call upon our people and their friends to understand and embrace the fallen in their depth and raise the struggle against the genocidal colonialist fascist Turkish state and its collaborators, as it is necessary to hold on to their memory.
“The youth of Kurdistan has taken measures to reach the guerrilla areas everywhere.”
The resistance of Zap and Avaşin, the highest expression of devotion to May and all the martyrs of the revolution, gives one of the most significant responses in history to the genocidal colonial enemy and its collaborators. The resistance against the invasion attacks of the genocidal colonialist Turkish state against Zap and Avaşin has passed one month. The Turkish state aimed to conquer Zap and Avaşin in a short period of time and to penetrate all the areas where the guerrillas are stationed and according to this aim they launched an attack in mid-April. However, the guerrillas dealt heavy blows to the occupying Turkish army with their resistance and prevented the realization of these plans. The monthly balance sheet published by our People’s Defense Center clearly shows the losses and defeat of the invading army. The guerrillas are fighting heroically with the spirit of apoist sacrifice against the Turkish occupying army and defending Kurdistan. We salute and congratulate warmly all HPG and YJA-STAR commanders and fighters who fought back with apoist spirit of sacrifice. We remember comrades Mizgin and Rohat who died in the resistance with respect, love and gratitude and promise to carry their struggle to victory.
The invading army has no chance of success in the face of the apoist spirit of sacrifice and the new war tactics of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla. The one-month war trial has shown that. During the one-month war, the guerrillas not only dealt a blow to the invading army and disrupted its plans, but also ignited the fire of resistance in the hearts of the patriotic Kurdish youth and aroused great interest. Patriotic Kurdish youth everywhere took measures to reach the guerrilla areas and join the resistance. The guerrillas attracted the youth of Kurdistan with their resistance against the invading army in Zap and Avaşin and continue to protect the hopes of freedom of the people of Kurdistan and stand at the forefront of the struggle for freedom. There is no doubt that the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla will lead the freedom struggle of the people of Kurdistan from now on by fighting in the front line of the struggle.
YJA Star deals a heavy blow to the occupiers
YJA-STAR guerrillas acted with the responsibility to be loyal to Rêber Apo and lead the freedom march, by being at the forefront of the guerrilla resistance, they dealt the worst blows to the enemy. The YJA-STAR guerrillas were at the forefront of the resistance led by the Mizgins, by carrying out successful and original actions, they led the war by dealing heavy blows to the fascist occupying army and raising the level and quality of the resistance.
Let us raise the struggle in memory of the fallen of Hewler
AKP-MHP fascism aims at carrying out the Kurdish genocide by eliminating the achievements of the Kurdish people and realizing their hundred-year national dream. Since it considers our movement as an obstacle to its goal, it is carrying out extermination attacks against our movement and guerrillas. They want to finish this occupation war and genocide on the basis of KDP cooperation and betrayal. The people of Kurdistan see this attitude of the KDP and show their reaction to the betrayal everywhere. We call on all Kurdish organizations, intellectuals, artists and writers, friends of the Kurdish people and all democratic segments to continue the struggle in memory of the martyrs of Hewler against the occupation by the Turkish state and cooperation with the KDP.
“Kurdistan will be liberated, Turkey and the Middle East will be democratized.”
The genocidal colonialist Turkish state and the occupation army use chemical weapons because they fail the resistance of the guerrillas. Although chemical weapons are banned and their use should be opposed, no objections are raised against these practices of the Turkish state at the international level. This is clear hypocrisy and a crime against humanity. Those who oppose the use of chemical weapons elsewhere, those who oppose Russia’s attack on Ukraine, are silent on the Turkish state’s genocide, invasion attacks and use of chemical weapons against the Kurds. The Kurdish people, their friends and the democratic public should show a stronger reaction against this attitude of the international forces, expressing their complicity and strengthening their struggle by saying that this crime against humanity will be stopped. The guerrillas and the popular resistance that will rise in the ranks of the fallen in May will definitely win, Kurdistan will be liberated, Turkey and the Middle East will be democratized. “
